Biography
Pitton earned his bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University and went on to receive his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He taught for 34 years at the junior high and high school levels. Pitton has also served as vice chairman of the Lands End Fire Department and as the president of Elk Run Estates.[1]

Two of the five seats on the Mesa County Valley School District 51 Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 3, 2015.
The seats of District A incumbent Arvan Jeffry Leany and District B incumbent Ann Tisue were up for election.[2][3] Challenger Doug Levinson defeated Leany and Kelly Reed for the District A seat. Tisue did not file to run for re-election in District B, which guaranteed a newcomer joined the board. Paul Pitton defeated Cindy Enos-Martinez and George Rau in the race to replace Tisue.[4]
