I graduated from Dan River High School. While in Chatham, VA. I volunteered for the Pittsylvania County Chatham Library and also Big Brothers and Big Sisters Association in Danville, Virginia helping with fundraisers and doing unpaid internships to learn more about nonprofit organizations.

I also was an NAACP college scholarship recipient which changed my life. By volunteering with this wonderful organization starting in the 10th grade I went from a mediocre student to a 3.0 cumulative GPA for my final two years in high school. I also played for the Dan River High School Basketball team from 1996 to 1998 and in the final year winning the Dogwood District Tournament title.

After moving to Norfolk, VA to attend Norfolk State University I founded the local chapter of Phi Delta Psi Fraternity Inc. While at Norfolk State University I fought to build the first voting precinct following the Bush 2000 Election Victory. I also volunteered for the Children of the Sun, Sentara, Urban League, and multiple projects for wellness with Sentara Hospital. All during this time, I learned and developed into a leader in the community.

My fraternity was the first to host the Youth Leadership Conference in Hampton Roads at Norfolk State University, facilitated by the Children of the Sun, Urban League, and local police departments, to place youth into programs and outlets that promote a positive role into the community.

  • Child Protective Services and Family Court Reform and Increase funding to police and mental health services!
  • "Expanding Gun Rights through the Castle Doctrine, Fixed Stand Your Ground Law, State Recognized Gun, Administrative restoration of gun rights, and a Constitutional Carry State"
  • "Death Penalty to Pedophiles, Ending credit checks for employment, Marijuana Legalization and Expungement of all records, Pro Business, Pro Life, and Criminal Justice Reform which will mandate open file discovery and elections instead of appointments of judges"

Currently, I speak on issues that affect low and middle-income class communities at local, state, and national levels. My work started in public policy and civil rights issues in the Danville, and Pittsylvania County areas. My work expanded throughout the entire Commonwealth of Virginia and Nationally through NCAGA. I also have worked with other local and state government agencies nationally. My life's work is to see people treated right by the government and businesses. I also want to cut red tape that is causing our businesses to leave the state. I firmly believe in Casinos and also allowing for permits to be issued for Uranium Mining to begin in Virginia which brings more jobs and revenue into our Great Commonwealth.

Some issues I strongly support are 2nd Amendment rights and the right to life. I also support cracking down on illegal immigration and building the wall. Gaining support for tax breaks for first responders and our military personnel is a priority with me. I plan to overhaul the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act to make slum lords more accountable to renters.

"Rutledge Campaign Policies and Position moving Va forward!"

Mr. Rutledge also strongly believes in the First Amendment and Religious Freedoms being protected. Our Virginia church leaders will be able to practice and teach their religion without politicians trying to influence their message to their congregation. He believes in the separation of church and state and too often politicians cros

President Donald Trump,

President Trump became the Father of a Nation for those young people that was causing disturbances to this new civil rights movement.
June 2, 2020 by Merle "Pitbull" Travis Rutledge Jr for Virginia Governor 2021

As fathers, we are suppose to keep our children safe and guide them to be law abiding citizens. Many of these children lack a solid head of household that did the looting and crimes we see today that resulted from peaceful protest. These trouble makers and Antifa minded groups, heard the message from President Trump loud and clearly that Playtime is Over. A father will come down hard on their children to keep them from screwing up their lives. They will not leave words because they love you. President Trump is seeing today what weak Governors refused to do. He lead with a gun and a bible. We are seeing today from peaceful protests that Dr. King Jr dream is alive and well. The riots and looting was unnecessary and wrong. America is hearing America today. A leader had to rise from the concrete which foundation was falling apart in broken homes. President Trump may consider himself as a law and order President. He also became a Father to a Nation! Today hasn't looked like the past week of hate. George Floyd life can now be celebrated properly with a focus of peace in his honor. Too many was trying to dishonor and not honor George Floyd memory. It was meant by God to give up his begotten son Floyd so that the world can live for those that sin. Leadership isn't about tolerating bad behavior. Its about correcting it also.

The only man in the race to help stop a riot successfully in 2018.
The only man to not take any money from any special interest group.
The only man to help police solve and bring justice to murderers.
The only man to stand up against BLM face to face with Tea Party Patriots.
The only man to tell the Elites and Establishment hacks to go fuck themselves face to face and still get invites. I'll gladly do it again if they cross me wrong!
The only man that hasn't back down to nobody or made friends with America's biggest enemies.
The only man to take on pedophiles with no remorse.
The only man to come up with a tax plan that pushes the state out of localities business. Keeping the interest from businesses that reside there, not the state from outside corporations.
The only man that will give pardons for violating Gov Northam gun laws. #2A speeches in Chesapeake, Danville, Richmond, Norfolk, Halifax, Harrisonburg, Hampton and VA Beach!
The only man that will protect your First Amendment right to disagree!
The only man to commit to putting statutes back up and have criminals do the work.
The only man that created change and didn't have go be elected to do it.
The only man that will overturn Roe vs. Wade.
The only man that politicians fear. Ask them!
The only man to earn his respect and be himself at all times.
The only man that puts God first during all his speeches.
The only man that ends his speeches with God bless America.
The only man that doesn't cry when attack. I hit back 20 times harder.
The only man that would not have closed down Virginia for a political hoax.
The only man that has proven that he won't be intimidated or rule by mob!
The only man that continues to have a copper cup that continues to runneth over.
The only man to restore gun rights for law abiding former felons and protect gun rights from red flag laws.
The only man that will end socialism with a plan.
The only man that hasn't take a knee on America and will stand in God's wi

Elected officials must give direct answers and not gimmicks for votes. It doesn't matter if you are in a suit or in blue jeans/boots. A fake is a fake. Being real and having courage to stand up for America freedoms and rights is mandatory and not a option. Only politicians want more options and compromise. We need more patriots that will act in the best interest of their country, not their political party.

I'm very talented in destroying my competition and making them beg for surrender. Local government officials have screwing over citizens for far too long. I have successfully exposed and beat them down anytime I feel like from court to their gimmicks being called out. I am an expert at public policy and getting rid of career politicians b.s. I'm a Patriot and fighter for my country.

They can never be ruled by mob. They must have integrity, backbone, and an unapologetic love for the America and for our Great Commonwealth of Virginia. They shouldn't make knee jerk reactions and make the best decisions that doesn't destroy jobs or lives. Holding a

public office is an act of service to the public - that is, service to all the residents of a city or town, not just those who

share your views or those who voted for you. It is a challenge that requires every office holder to rise above the fray, to reach beyond
comfort zones, and to work with others with whom they may have significant differences. Rising to that challenge is what makes democracy work. It's what makes shaping our shared future possible. It's what others have done before us. And it's what has made our cities and towns places we can be proud of. All those politicians in Richmond are nothing to be proud of, but have became puppets to the establishment.

I was the greatest Governor of Virginia of all time.

When Democratic leaders called 2020 Peaceful Protests instead of Riots at the DNC Convention! 39 years old

Pittsylvania County Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant - 2 years

Mack's the chessmaster and Mack's A walk with the Devil. 2 books I wrote and one is published. The other will be published in the future.

This question is irrelevant. I have no time to pretend to be anything else but me. Virginia needs a Patriot, not a broken toy of a politician.

I don't want to Miss a Thang by Aerosmith

I don't struggle. I face obstacles head on and I don't make excuses. This question appears to be for someone that is weak and soft that complains a lot. I don't have time for just talk. I'm about action and I don't know the definition of struggle. I only know the definition of winning and not making any excuses.

Our current Governor means absolutely nothing to me. Once he's gone then I will rewrite how a top executive authority in my state is suppose to act. I will make sure we get passed this hoax and we have the credible and necessary leadership that all of Virginia can believe in and I represent that fully.

The most important responsibility is to make sure your not an idiot like our current Virginia Governor. The most important responsibility for any Governor is to make sure they are not acting in the best interest of their party in public policy. Thy must work on behalf of all people. The most important thing I can do for Virginia is to drain the swamp of career politicians. We need term limits and to get rid of all these career politicians.

To make sure we have fiscal responsibility with a balance budget. We waste too much money on pork barrel projects. My job would to make sure funding goes where it needs, not where politicians want for political bonus points.

I do not support line item vetoes in Virginia. Either the bill works or it doesn't. I don't do half ass laws that screws Virginians over in the long run.

The Governor must propose not order state legislature to pass laws. Also state legislatures has the job of making laws and balancing the budget.

Anyone elected to the office of governor assumes tremendous responsibility overnight. He or she becomes the spokesperson for the entire state and their political party, accepts blame or praise for handling decision-making in times of crisis, oversees the implementation of public policy, and helps shepherd legislation through the lawmaking process. These tasks require a great deal of skill and demand that governors exhibit different strengths and personality traits. Governors must learn to work well with other lawmakers, bureaucrats, cabinet officials, and with the citizens who elected them to office in the first place. I have no plans on working well with any of these politicians in Richmond, Va. I believe that I should trust no one in Richmond, until I'm given reason to do so. These politicians care more about lining their pockets then working with the Virginia people. I plan on draining the swamp in Richmond and the last thing on my mind is making friends with the swamp. press coverage by virtue of being the leading elected official in their state. The Governor should not be there to please every swamp creature in Richmond, Va. They need to be there to make sure the public business is carried out and to make sure they close the circus that have lead to huge distrust in our public officials. Also I will make sure that public officials are prosecuted for crimes committed and can't use the law to get blanket immunity. The day of criminals in our state capitol is over.

Guns, Bible, Patriots, Farmers, Militias, Military, Police/First Responders, and Guts! "Anti-Politician"

The greatest challenge is getting Democrats voted out so that Virginia can begin to run smoothly. I believe the state's greatest challenge is making sure no more Democrats are at Virginia State Capitol. We must drain the swamp! "We can't be a Nation that represents freedom if its citizens are in a prison built by politicians. I ask all Virginians to rise from the ashes of this pandemic and do whatever it takes to break every chain in God's name. I pray for a day we see each other not by race but for what we are as a person. Our history good or bad is what makes us who we are today. The struggle of perseverance is alive and well, but will never be lost with the American spirit. Its time for each of us to know where we came from built and molded us for times like this. The American spirit and what we all stand for will not be destroyed. We will not go into the dark with cowards, but Patriots blessed by God. We will rise. So help me God! We the people take our country back now! Our ancestors of past fought for our freedoms, and now we fight for our future. Today - we fight for ours against the blue coats for our future. We must once again declare our Independence. "Anti-Politician"

People have lost trust in their representatives. They go to Richmond, Va or D.C and get bullied by those incumbents that care more about lining their pockets than helping the American people. Too long, we have been stuck being politically correct at our expense. We support term limits to get dinosaur politicians out of government. Mr. Rutledge loves God, Country, and Families and puts their needs first when deciding on policies that can impact them in any kind of way. We are doing too much for immigrants while leaving American citizens behind. Not anymore under a Rutledge administration. Virginia citizens will come first!
