Dan Wood
Dan Wood (Democratic Party) ran for election for the Place 3 judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. He lost in the Democratic primary on March 3, 2020.
Wood was a Democratic candidate for Texas' 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House. He lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on March 6, 2018.
Wood was a candidate for the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals who ran for election in 2012.[1]
Biography
Wood lives in Texas. He graduated from Terrell High School in 1974 and earned a J.D. from Baylor Law. Wood’s career experience includes working as a lawyer at Dan Wood Jr. Attorney at Law and a mentor attorney at the University of North Texas College of Law. Wood previously served as a Terrell city councilman and was Mayor Pro Tempore in Terrell. He serves as the chair of the Terrell Library Advisory Board.[2]
Education
Wood received his undergraduate degree (Finance) from Texas A&M University. He received his J.D. degree from Baylor University Law School in 1986.[2]
Career
Wood began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Kaufman County. He left that office to work as a private practice attorney, but returned to the position later. He opened up a law firm in 1989 and has worked there since.[2]
