Todd Gilbert (Republican Party) is a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 33. He assumed office on January 10, 2024. His current term ends on January 14, 2026.
Gilbert (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates to represent District 33. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Gilbert served as state House speaker from January 2022 until January 2024.[1] On January 10, 2024, Gilbert became the House minority leader, after Democrats gained majority control of the Virginia House of Delegates following the November 2023 elections.[2]
Biography
Gilbert earned a B.A. in government at the University of Virginia in 1993 and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1996. His professional experience includes working as a prosecutor for the City of Lynchburg and Shenandoah County.[3]

Gilbert won re-election in the 2013 election for Virginia House of Delegates District 15. Gilbert defeated Mark W. Prince in the June 11 Republican primary. He was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 5, 2013.[11][12]
