Breene Harimoto
Breene Harimoto (May 6, 1954 - June 18, 2020) was a member of the Hawaii State Senate, representing District 16 from 2014 to 2020. Harimoto first assumed office on November 4, 2014, and won re-election in the general election on November 6, 2018. He held office until his death on June 18, 2020.[1]
Harimoto previously served on the Honolulu City Council, representing District 8 from 2012 to 2014.
Biography
Breene Harimoto was born in Pearl City, Hawaii. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Harimoto's professional experience included serving as assistant vice president for First Hawaiian Bank. He was also the deputy director of the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Information Technology, former chair of the Hawaii State Board of Education, and former president of the Pearl City Foundation.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Breene Harimoto was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[3][4][5]
