Allen Hannay
Allen Burroughs Hannay (1892-1983) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Hannay was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on July 16, 1942, to a seat vacated by James Allred; he was confirmed by the Senate on August 6, 1942, and received commission on August 12, 1942. From 1954-1962, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on August 6, 1975. He served the Southern District of Texas until his death on October 22, 1983.[1] Hannay was succeeded in this position by Ross Sterling.
