Findlay issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:
“ | I am a progressive Democrat who believes that government can be an activist force for good. I also firmly believe government should guarantee equal opportunities to everyone as opposed to equal outcomes. I decided to run for State Representative because Michigan has been moving backwards in many areas. Our state's problems demand new and innovative policies that will move Michigan forward. I hope to achieve a lessening of the partisan bickering that paralyzes our government by focusing on compromises and keeping an open mind. In addition, I hope to implement a non-partisan redistricting commission as well as hashing out a specific and real fix to our state's roads and infrastructure. I would also like to propose and pass a first-of-its-kind work-service program called the Michigan Service Corps that would put thousands of Michiganders to work bettering their community's infrastructure, education, and environment. | ” |
