Adrienne Hinnant-Johnson
Adrienne Hinnant-Johnson is a judge of the Michigan 36th District Court. Her current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Hinnant-Johnson ran for re-election for judge of the Michigan 36th District Court. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Hinnant-Johnson was appointed by Republican Governor Rick Snyder on November 4, 2015, to succeed Brenda Karen Sanders. She won election in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[2] Incumbent Adrienne Hinnant-Johnson defeated Coral Watt in the 36th District (partial term) general election.[1]

Judges of the Michigan District Courts are each elected to six-year terms.[3] The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a qualified elector of the district, licensed to practice law in the state, under the age of 70, and have five years of experience practicing law.
