Hi my name is AMIT LAL. I was born and raised in South Queens. I have worked and help run a construction firm for many years. From negotiating contracts, ordering materials, running payroll, and doing the work from fixing walls to building houses I have help the construction company get from a small firm to a larger one. After sometime after I have attended college after which I join the logistics industry which I Currently I am working in with a delivery firm as a logistics operator. In my current role I hold many hats from organizing routes, working with fellow employees to get orders to customers, making adjustments to run efficiently and effective also staying in budget. This leads me to why am I running. Our district needs someone who has real leadership/negotiating skills at the same time someone who cares for our citizens above all doing the right thing. We owe it to ourselves and our future generation. Together we can build a better future .

  • Building a stronger and sustainable and affordable economy.
  • Improving our education so students can be well prepared for the future.
  • Upgrading our aging Infrastructure roads, tunnel, bridges, airport, and communication.

There are many public policy's I am passionate about .

The Economy is very important for everyone because without a strong economy our nation is at risk from many levels and cause problems for the people and the nation. By making our nation strong financially we are able to do some much and to be the best.

The Education is another policy I would like to take on because for far too long the education in our nation has become lackluster, Students are graduating high school not prepared for college. we need to fix this.

Our Nation Infrastructure is old. When they built many decades ago the population was much smaller, In current times our roads are topped out. We need to find alternative ways to keep our nations roads tunnel bridges rails and airport and communication such as the Internet safe and reliable and be ready for the next century for individuals and commerce.

The Healthcare in our nation needs to be fixed , it needs to be affordable for everyone from Doctor/Hospital visit and prescription .

Our Nations also need to be strong on all fronts whether it is an International/Domestic. We need to have our Military and Intelligence be prepared for anything.

My parents are my inspiration . My father is though is hard work and dedication and also my mother with her care and love. This is why they are my inspiration.

I have derived my political philosophy from the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg address.

The characteristics that are important for an elected official is having Integrity and compassion for everything they do. There are times when their position may not agree with the majority but they must stand on their belief. Also to understand how their position will affect everyone

The qualities that I possess that make me a successful officeholder are knowing the community, Understanding the issues and how they effect us. Also what should be done to benefit the district as a whole. Furthermore communicating with others to know what is needed to have from proposal come in to action and helping the community succeed.

The core responsibilities for someone to be elected to this office to help people do better in life. Their are things that an elected official can do to help the community where it is the people who reside there or the companies that have locations and have workers there. Elected officials are elected to be the voice of the district. When certain legislation are propose it should be examine how it will effect everyone.

The legacy that I would like to leave is for everyone present and future to always strive to help others .

When September 11.2001 happen I was just in the first few days for starting high school.I was 14 years old.

I have worked at the construction firm for over 12 years .

I read many different genres of books. They are all great. Each one gives me a different experience.

If I could be a fictional character it would be Captain America because he symbolize Loyalty, Heroism,Caring.

Something that I tend to struggle with in my life is that that I am too critical of my work . I tend to spend much time overlooking whatever am doing. From this I learn to provide accurate and efficient work at the first time I produce it.

The qualities of the U.S. House of Representative that make it unique is the power that it has. The Legislative Branch of our Government make laws to help it citizens and the nation as a whole be come better and successful . As times change laws need to be made for the time. It is in congress where the peoples of our nation via their representative have there voices heard.

No. Our nations was built on men and women who came across all background and trades . I believe that every citizen should run. They should be able to run no matter their experience.

In the next decade I do not see challenges but opportunity for all American to succeed on all fronts from the Economy,Education,Health, And our relationships with other nations.

Yes I would like to be in certain committees that am I able to help my district and also the nation as a whole. The order would be the Financial services,Appropriations,Education and Labor, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Oversight and Reform.

I do believe that we need term limits. We can not have someone in their for a very long time . As years go by people and ways of thinking change . It is necessary for the need of term limits .

If I was offered a leadership position. I would take it and as an independent i will work with everyone to help our nation.

I have been inspired by a few congress members from the past. They have shown that no matter what adversity has came there way, they push though to get things done for the people they represent. They are Joseph Hayne Rainey, Dalip Signh Saudh, Shirley Chisholm and Newt Gingrich .

My story is with many people I spoke to in the district its about how money plays such a big role in our everyday life. Even having a job is not enough to make ends meet since the 2007/2008 financial crisis are lives have change. The dream of owning homes is that a dream. It should not be like that.People should not be working 2 or more jobs to just to keep your head above. In the past 3 years we have seen our economy go up and while we are just starting their is much more work to be done.
