“ | Virginia urgently needs campaign finance reform to stop selling our legislation to the highest bidder. My opponent has spent over half a million dollars on UNOPPOSED campaigns and is in the pockets of the very industries he is supposed to regulate. I have not taken any campaign donations from corporations or for-profit special interest groups, and have committed to running my entire campaign for less than the median per capita income of my district. I will propose a bill to put a spending limit on political campaigns relative to the prosperity of the people they seek to serve, and ban contributions by industries that are regulated by the General Assembly.[2] | ” |

“ | Repeal Section C of Virginia Code 18.2-61, which provides that someone found guilty of rape can walk away without consequences or a criminal record if the victim is their spouse.[2] | ” |

“ | While my opponent pats himself on the back for last year’s baby-steps, people are still dying every day. Imposing one-size-fits-all standards upon physicians is what got us into this mess to begin with. We need to implement best practice public health strategies that focus on treatment and prevention, and do not line the pockets of privately owned jails.[2] | ” |
