We used anonymized cell-phone data to build a Business Risk Index and analyzed trends in foot traffic to more than 1.25 million businesses across eight states during the pandemic. As at March 2021, our Business Risk Index has been integrated as a feature in a machine learning-driven forecasting model for COVID-19 hospitalizations for a large health system in Massachusetts.

A novel classification technique based on combined Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Adaptive Neural Fuzz... more A novel classification technique based on combined Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for diagnosis of heart Attack is reported. Exploiting the combined advantages of neural net-works, fuzzy logic and GA, the performance of the proposed system is investigated by evaluation functions such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, accuracy and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE). Also, the efficiency of the algorithm is evaluated by employing 9-fold cross validation. To address the explainability of the predictions, explainable graphs are provided. The results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is quite satisfactory. Furthermore, the importance of various symptoms in diagnosis of heart attack is investigated through defining and employing an importance evaluation function. It is shown that some symptoms have key roles in effective prediction of heart Attack.

Since ages, the processes has been handled manually and hence has been prone to errors and mal practises. Considering the wide usage of the procedure in determining the performance of the individuals and the fuzzy nature of the evaluation process, we have presented an algorithm to calculate the viva assessment scores. In our paper, the system presented calculates the viva assessment scores based on the fuzzy linguistic parameters associated with the assessment. Since a student represents his/ her ideas in the form of "words" in a viva assessment therefore the words associated with the assessment of th� student by the respective authorities provides the viva assessment scores.

Since the process of selection of a romantic partner is bounded by a number of uncertain factors therefore the determination of relationship compatibility requires processing of these factors while preserving the uncertainties associated with them. These feelings specific linguistic perspectives can be used to determine whether the romantic love will be stable in long-term or not, through the technique of perceptual computing. The relationship compatibility score generated through our system can be used for relationship analysis and provide real-time assistance in love related decision making. In our paper, we have proposed a system which is capable of determining relationship compatibility score through the processing of the " words " which are associated with the feelings involved in a romantic relationship.

So, we decided to develop a mobile based examination system to reach the population even at the most remote areas. An Android driven examination system that we have designed and implemented is made with an intent to serve the education industry and provide efficient and reliable result along with powerful user interface. Our system aims at making the examination system a lot more convenient for the students as well as the faculty members and reducing the manual headache required in the traditional process. Google’s Android is the most popular OS globally including India [2]. Android being so popular can be considered an OS that the masses have used in their smart phones; hence our system is designed considering the convenience of the faculty and the student taking the examination. Using the impeccable UI functionalities that have been provided using the Android Development Kit we have designed and implemented our system.

However, humans express their demands naturally in terms of “words”. Correct interpretation and processing of these “words” can greatly affect the profitability of a business. In this paper, we present a perceptual computing based algorithm that takes input in terms of “words” and provides recommendation as an output that can be put to use for making better profits in the business. The system has been designed to gauze the profitability of the business deal based on the fuzzy values of the “words”.

They are being employed at a number of places such as health monitoring, teaching aids, etc. Recent works have shown that they can also be used to conduct the examination. Examinations are generally conducted to test the theoretical knowledge of a student. Any student who is able solve the question is awarded complete marks and the one who fails is not rewarded any marks. But, a student is not awarded any marks for solving the question with a better strategy. There is no way of evaluating the strategy of the student. To evaluate the strategy of the student, we require feedback about the system from the student. Humans express in terms of words. So, we make use of the remarkable technique of perceptual computing for processing the words. In this paper we present a perceptual computing based algorithm for evaluating the strategy of the student whose examination is being conducted through the smartphone. A strategy score for the student will be generated using the words provided by the user and accordingly it will be decided how good the strategy of the student is.
