manat was among mecca's three chief goddesses, alongside her sisters. and among them, she was the original and the oldest. she is considered a goddess of fate, fortune, time, and destiny. a-lat’s role has been debated on, but some conclude that she was a lunar deity. al-uzza was usually called upon for protection.

Manāt, was believed to be the goddess of fate and time, and was also seen as the moon goddess. She was known by the cognate name Manawat to the Nabataeans of Petra, who equated her with the Graeco-Roman goddess Nemesis and in some references, she was considered the wife of Hubal. There are also strong elements to her related to Chronos, Tyche and Fortuna.
