Nottingham Goose Fair Today is the opening of the famous Nottingham Goose Fair. It's origins are unclear, but it is reputed to date back over a thousand years. Originally being a livestock and trade event, with a reputation for its excellent cheese, it derives its name from the thousands of geese that were driven there to be sold.
