Second studio album by the Welsh singer-songwriter who rose to fame after coming second in the BBC Sound of 2010 poll. Following the indie pop and new wave-inspired debut album 'Family Jewels', this album has a more electronic feel, showcased in the first single 'Primadonna'. The album also features the single 'Power & Control'. The album debuted at #1 in the UK Albums Chart.

Marina has announced that after 14 years of being signed to a major label, she's now an independent artist. Taking to the stage at London's O2 Academy Brixton on May 22, Marina told the crowd that 2021 album Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land would be her last to be released by Atlantic Records. "After 14 years of being signed, after five albums," Marina announced on stage, "Ancient Dreams is my last record with Atlantic Records. "I want to share my independence with you!"
