Chapter Text

“Virtues"

A glass shattered on the floor, the table was bent over, and the chair was broken down. The scene itself was a mess. The woman, who had pink hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin, went on a rampage when she saw the text message on her phone.

“She’s better than you.”

She let out a whimper from her mouth, and her tears dropped onto the floor as she held her messy hair to compose herself. Her makeup, which she had put on for an hour, was ruined in one minute. She wore a beautiful dark purple outfit with white body jewelry traces on her hips.

She whispered to herself and clenched her hand into a fist as she looked at the ground. Her phone vibrated. She quickly grabbed the phone to see who the caller was. It was “Serenity”. She groaned and threw the phone on the couch and sat there relaxing after her long 20-minute straight rampage. Her room was now a mess; the floors were a mess from the shattered glass.

The pink-haired woman looked at the door with a completely straight poker face. Her mascara was now ruined.

“Hello, Helen.”

She replied with her voice hoarse as she continued to stare at the ceiling before closing her eyes to rest.

“Oh my God! Herta!! What happened here?”

The sounds of tiny glass shattering could be heard as Helen walked towards her sister. Worry was etched on her face. As she was about to reach her, Herta grabbed her arms and pulled her into a hug, and then you could hear Herta crying.

“He dumped me.”

Herta mumbled as she put her sister in a crushing hug. Herta felt her tears roll down her cheek as she tried to calm herself.

“Oh, Herta.”

The younger sister replied, wrapping her arms around Herta, patting her head, and whispering sweet, comforting words to her.

“Am I ugly, Helen? Why would he do that? I am the prettiest woman he could ever get. I mean, I am the Virtue of love.”

Herta vented her feelings. Meanwhile, Helen had no choice but to comfort her sister, even if it meant stroking her ego.

“I don’t know, Herta. You don’t deserve to experience that, but you know that this relationship with him had come to an end.”

Helen whispered to her sister as she stroked her hair and hummed a little at the end. In Helen’s opinion, Herta’s ex-boyfriend was a jerk. She didn’t like his personality or the way he talked to her and their other sisters. Especially to Herta, he talked to her as if she were a toy.

“Thank the stars! Their relationship is over!”

She sweated a little as she looked at her sister’s room.

“Wow, um, your room...”

She said it out loud. SNAP! The sound echoed, and everything in Herta’s bedroom was now fixed.

“Anyway, I have some news about the Calamity.”

In a blink of an eye, she saw her sister Herta shoot up from the ground and out of her embrace when Helen informed her about the “Calamity”.

“What about the Calamity?”

“She has been spotted on a ship.”

Herta’s smile began to widen as bloodlust rose from her body. She looked around her room, not surprised that it had been cleaned by her sister. She grabbed her weapon. Her knuckles were white from how tightly she gripped it.

“Looks like my breakup gives us a chance to redeem ourselves.”

Herta looked at her sister Helen and opened her hand, offering it to her, which Helen accepted. Herta pulled her up and walked towards the door, opened it, and left. Following Helen, a smile crept across Herta’s face, replacing her crying and sobbing expression with one that was more creepy and angry. Her aura gave away her emotions.

The loud rumbling of engines could be heard as they landed on solid ground. Lots and lots of frost demon nobles and non-nobles stood there to watch their Emperor and Empress come home.

“I heard that Lord Frieza has a new frost demon in sight.”

“Really?”

“Pfft! Whoever that female frost demon is, she cannot even get close to Lord Frieza!”

“Pfft! And why is that?”

“Have you heard what happened to Lord Hoshi’s daughter? She almost got killed by our empress when she was still his left-hand woman.”

Loud chattering noises came from the Last Empress’s Castle. All of the maids and servants cleaned the castle and prepared the best food of all for the Emperor and Empress. Despite it being pretty busy in the castle, there was always time for some gossip.

“Sheesh, whoever that female is, she’s dead if she has our empress as her rival. Pfft! They don’t stand a chance.”

“What are you two gossiping about?”

Three frost demons flinched at the sound of a loud female voice. The voice had a slightly deep alto when she spoke. The three servants turned their heads, shaking as they looked behind.

There, a female frost demon stood. Her aura demanded respect and fear. The pink gem on her forehead was always recognizable, and her head ornaments and body jewelry screamed “Empress”. This woman was the former Empress of the Galactic Empire, Empress Yúe. The former empress had her hand on her hip as she stared at the three female frost demon servants. Her stare demanded an answer.

“Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty!”

All three bowed down to the former empress, not daring to look her in the eye. They felt their sweat drop and their blood drain. Two of the females took a deep breath before exhaling, while the other one seemed relaxed.

“Hmm...”

That was all she replied. She stared at the three before folding her arms across her chest.

“My son and my daughter are visiting. I expected the three of you to help the others prepare.

The three females again bowed their heads.

“YES your majesty! We apologize for our ignorance!”

They replied to their former Empress. The empress looked impressed before raising her hand in dismissal.

“Let's just hope I didn't catch you again slacking while working.”

Her voice was at a dangerously low level as she left the three Servants, who didn't even realize they had been holding their breath until they loudly sighed in relief. They quickly got on with their tasks and left gossiping for later.

Harumi, another noble daughter of the prestigious Aristocrat Hoshi, also held the title of “The one who survived the weapon.” Because of that title, many frost demons pitied the female. In fact, because of that title, she received a lot of attention just as she needed it, but of course, she had to continue the act of a “traumatized” frost demon, despite it being a centuries-old event.

“Harumi. The Emperor and the Empress Have Arrived… are you sure you want to meet them..?”

Hika, Harumi's favorite (and easy to manipulate) friend, had been the one to take care of the ‘’Traumatized Harumi' after what happened, and since then, the two of them had been “close”.

“Really?... Yes! I don't always have to cower in fear. Hika! I have to face them!”

Harumi replied to her friend as she stood up. Her noticeable yellow gem on her forehead shone because of the light, giving the woman an air of ‘’golden innocent aura', and with that, Hika nodded and opened the door wider and walked inside.

“I trust you.”

The sounds of cheering and praising filled the air as the metal door hissed open, and the fog covered the exit for a minute. Soldiers and staff walked out from the other ships and quickly formed a line in front of the main ship door. Once the fog finally cleared, Frieza stood there looking unamused, his hands placed behind his back. Beside him was (Name), with her sweet smile, her long white hair that faded to black at the tips. Her black dress hugged her curves with the help of a gold corset, and golden body jewelry traced her hips to the ends. Her dress itself had an eye-like pattern placed on her hips and the end of the dress. Once the soldiers and staff were fully in line in front of them all the way to the gate, Frieza offered his hand to (Name). Feeling her cheeks burn, (Name) accepted this small form of public affection, and his calloused hand slightly squeezed her soft one as he walked down the ship. (Name) followed, her smile as sweet as ever as they both walked towards the castle gates. Meanwhile, Frieza's mother was watching with a smile on her face, her hands clasped together in front of her, eager to hug her son and daughter-in-law.

"My dear, as much as I admire your rage and hate, could you please tone it down? I can feel your ki rising, and I'm afraid our soldiers and people are shaking," Frieza teased and chuckled at his wife's attempt to hide her rage next to him. Since they had been married for what seemed like centuries, he knew her flaws and perfections.

(Name), who had spotted Harumi next to the former Empress with an innocent yet slightly scared expression on her face, gritted her teeth and clenched her free hand. Oh, how she hated how that woman acted.

"I hate that woman," she hissed with venom in her words, her gaze hardened. She rolled her eyes and flipped her hair to the back.

"Hmm, you haven't let that go? It's been years since that incident happened," he replied to his wife, his red eyes staring at her, and he couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. After all, he had the "calamity" right under his fingers, and this sense of control gave the emperor sadistic thoughts. How much longer did he have to break his cute beloved wife's heart until she was broken down into submission and had no choice but to rely on him even more? His smile dropped as his logical thinking returned. 'But she is already submitted to me. Why do I have to go through that process just to make her rely on me more? She's already married to me, trapped, and no one will do anything about it. There's no need to go through all of that.'

"My love?" The soft voice sent a shiver down his spine. He looked at his wife, curious, before looking back in front of him. He saw his mother smiling so brightly, which made him scoff.

"Hmm?" He hummed in acknowledgment to (Name) as he held her soft hand with his, his thumb rubbing hers.

"Is something the matter? You seem to be deep in thought... Is someone bothering you?" (Name) asked. With each step she took, she felt a bead of sweat drop as she saw the former Empress's gaze on her. That gaze reminded her of "grandchildren?" But besides that, she tilted her head to the side a little to look at her husband.

"No, I'm fine, my dear. It's just, why are you angry at her when you already won the empress selection and I married you and you won my heart?" Frieza didn't hesitate to speak his mind about the problem, which caused (Name) to flinch a little. 'He's right, you know? Why are you angry at the woman who didn't marry Frieza and didn't win the title of "empress"? There's no need to overthink.' She chuckled at her silly little action earlier and now felt ashamed, as if she didn't trust Frieza. She didn't want any miscommunication.

"You're right, my dear... I'm sorry for my actions. It's just... I can't help but overthink a little," (Name) said. Frieza chuckled at this as he now turned his head to face hers and looked into her eyes.

"Tell me what those 'overthinking' thoughts are, and let me ease them, hmm?" (Name) couldn't help but feel her cheeks flush at what he said. He was willing to listen to her problems and solve them. Oh, how she loved this man. She held his calloused hand and kissed the back of it, leaving a small black lipstick stain on his pale skin. Frieza couldn't help but chuckle at this display of affection, even though it irked him a little that the eyes of the public were still on them. He didn't like this type of attention.

"Oh my! You two are a match made in heaven, hmm? That was so sweet to watch! Ugh! I'm so jealous. If only your father would do that!”

The voice of the former Empress, Yue, caused (Name) to flinch. She looked at her mother-in-law and smiled, lowering her head to show respect to her. Yue smiled at the gesture that (Name) had made.

“Greetings... 'Mother', it's been so long,” (Name) greeted Yue. Frieza, on the other hand, watched his wife and his mother interact.

“Hello, mother, it's been a while,” Frieza suddenly spoke up to his mother, looking her in the eye while smiling.

“Oh yes! Yes! Please come inside. I know we don't usually need food to survive, but I'm sure your dear (Name) must be starving! Come! Come!” Yue insisted that the couple enter the castle while she plastered a smile. That smile seemed so familiar.

“Ah... of course,” Frieza replied. He turned his head to (Name), and she looked back at him, smiled, and nodded. Frieza smiled and walked inside the castle.

Harumi felt her vein showing because of anger. How dare they ignore her like she was nothing! She watched the couple walk inside the castle and followed them, keeping a good distance because, after all, she had a reputation to maintain at the moment.

(Name) and Frieza, hand in hand, walked into the dining room, where exotic food had been fully prepared. (Name) gripped Frieza's arm tighter. It had been a while since she had eaten something exotic, and it gave her nostalgia for the man who sold her to King Cold.

“My chefs made this delicacy with blood and sweat! Please enjoy it!” Yue informed the couple, but it was more directed at (Name) since she knew how much (Name) loved this type of food. Yue walked towards the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down while giving them a look that said “sit or else”. Frieza felt a bead of sweat drop from the back of his neck as he followed his mother and sat on the other side of the table, and (Name) followed and sat beside him.

“So... how are you two doing? Is ruling a huge empire stressful?” Yue asked, her sweet, innocent smile still plastered on her face, which made (Name) feel a bead of sweat drop down the back of her neck.

“Uhm—” She was cut off by Frieza's voice, and she thanked him mentally.

“What exactly do you want, mother? Don't make the dialogue any longer,” Frieza said. Yue let out a chuckle as she covered her mouth, and her pink gem shone a little brighter when the light hit it.

“Oh my son! As sharp as ever!” Yue laughed, and (Name) felt awkward and took a sip of wine from the interaction. She felt cold skin on her thigh and saw Frieza's hand on top of it, slightly rubbing his thumb to ease her. (Name)'s heart fluttered at this gesture. She took a deep breath to calm down and relax her tense body, and her lips curved into a smile.

“Well... let's get to the point. Aside from Kuriza... I want more grandchildren.” Yue's voice was in a dangerous low tone, and Frieza spat out his wine at the bold request from his mother.

“A—another one?” He stuttered, and (Name) grabbed a table napkin and gave it to Frieza, which he accepted and wiped the spilled wine from his mouth and the table.

“Yes. I want a little Frost Demon that resembles you and her running around my empty castles and halls. I want to read my grandbaby a story. I want to give her kisses on the cheek and forehead,” Yue whined as she took a sip of wine and used her free hand to wipe away a fake tear. The former Empress's green eyes stared at (Name).

“Tell me, my dear... is Frieza avoiding his marital responsibilities, isn't he? Please tell me, my dear. I will give Frieza a lecture that he has never experienced before!” Yue almost shouted at the end as she looked at her son, her gaze hardening. (Name) put down her wine glass and stared at her “mother” and put a smile on her face, trying not to get awkward. Meanwhile, Frieza, getting awkward, grabbed the food from the table. He grabbed the fork and stabbed it into the meat and put it on his plate. He then grabbed the table knife and used it to cut the meat.

“N—no... mother—” Okay... that was awkward. (Name) grabbed her wine glass again and sipped from it, not even trying to make eye contact with her mother-in-law, as sweat dropped.

“...” Yue stared at her before laughing, holding her stomach as she laughed hard.

“Oh my! You're usually so strict when it comes to Frieza and his empire, but when it comes to this, you're so shy like Amorin!” Yue laughed at (Name)'s display of awkwardness. She wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes and raised her hand.

“Okay—okay... I'll let this go...”

Yue stopped when she caught her son's gaze hardening on her. She saw how his muscles tensed, and Yue felt a bead of sweat drop.

'Oh my, these two are truly a match made in heaven.'
