The wind was sharp even inside the bus shelter. Grant was thankful Tommy had offered to deal with the cops so he could take shelter (and not talk to a pig). His hands were shoved deep in his coat pockets, cold even with thick gloves on. He was half tempted to start blasting just to stay warm.
Tommy ducked into the shelter beside him. “Alright, we can head back to the brownstone now.”
Grant frowned, finally registering his friend’s attire now that the chaos of the fight was over. “How are you not freezing? You have no winter clothes on!”
“Well-”
Grant interrupted him. “Shut up. Take my scarf and hat at the very least. You’re not getting my coat though, fuck you.”
Tommy ducked his head as Grant wrapped the scarf around his neck. It smelled like him: pepper and smoke.
He decided not to tell Grant he was perfectly warm under all his fur.
