Chapter 5: Lesson 5: Uncle Lucius and Aunt Narcissa

Chapter Text

Severus let out a sigh, he knew it was only a matter of time before someone would find out.

“You want me to take Harry and change him while you deal with this?” Andrew asked.

“Please, if you don’t mind,” Severus replied, exhausted and with pleading eyes.

Andrew took Harry back and made his way out of the room and upstairs to where the nursery was. Severus waved his hand to the other armchair and the couch for the two Malfoys to sit, Lucius taking the other armchair and Narcissa taking the end of the couch closest to her husband. Severus took his armchair and crossed his leg over his knee before lacing his fingers together.

“So,” Lucius started looking a little uncomfortable, “Sev, is there something you would like to tell us?”

“I don’t know what you mean,” Severus replied, hoping he could gaslite his way out of this.

“AW, HE GOT IT UP HIS BACK!” Andrew could be heard yelling from the nursery upstairs before retching sounds followed, “DEAR MERLIN, SEV, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN FEEDING HIM?”

Well, there went the gaslighting plan.

“THE FORMULA YOU RECOMMENDED!” Severus called back up.

“YEAH, WELL THIS KID IS GOING TO HAVE SOME SERIOUS IBS PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE IF WE DON’T DO SOMETHING!” Andrew called back down.

“Would anyone like tea?” Severus asked, beginning to get up.

“Sit, Severus,” Narcissa replied.

Severus sat back down and silence took back over.

“So,” Severus finally said again, “to what do I owe this fine visit this evening?” He finished with a smile and a head tilt to convey the feeling that everything was completely normal.

“Well, we were coming over to discuss the meeting since you left rather quickly,” Lucius replied.

“Which is unusual for you, Sev, so we got worried about you,” Narcissa finished, “but, it seems now we know why you left so quickly.”

Andrew came back down with Harry in his arms and sat on the end of the couch closest to Severus before passing Harry over.

“So,” Lucius began again, “How long have you two been seeing each other?”

“Seeing each oth-NO! No. Nnnnooooo,” Severus replied, shock taking over.

“We are not seeing each other,” Andrew chimed in, holding his hands up in defense.

“Listen, Sev, we have no problems with you having a gay relationship, you know we would support you,” Lucius replied,

“We’re just disappointed that you didn’t tell us or the fact that you had a baby,” Narcissa replied.

“I’m surprised you hid the pregnancy for nine months or the fact that you were a male bearer,” Lucius picked the conversation back up.

“No, honestly we are not- WHAT DO YOU MEAN I WAS A MALE BEARER? WHY DO YOU ASSUME I WOULD BE THE FEMININE IN THE RELATIONSHIP?” Severus asked horrified.

“Well, Severus, dear,” Narcissa replied, “You were always the gentler one and tend to lean more, how do I put it, submissive.”

“I- no- I- we-” Severus was at a loss for words.

“Mr and Mrs Malfoy,” Andrew replied, “We honestly are not in a relationship, I was just doing Severus a favor.”

“YES!” Severus exclaimed, “ Yes. He was just watching Harry for me.”

“Harry? You named your baby Harry?” Lucius asked in surprise and disgust confusion.

“No, he came with that name,” Severus replied, he's gone too deep now.

“He came with it,” Narcissa replied more to herself, “Severus, I think you should start from the beginning.”

Severus sighed and looked over to Andrew.

“It’s up to you if you trust them,” Andrew replied with a shrug.

“Alright,” Severus replied exhausted, “Harry was left on my doorstep about a month ago.”

“About a month ago,” Narcissa trailed off, “July? Is he the Potter baby?”

“No, he arrived in the middle of July, he’s about two months now,” Severus lied.

As much as he loved and trusted the Malfoys, he didn’t know how well it would go over if they actually knew that Harry was the Potter boy. Also, he didn’t need them telling the Dark Lord about it as well, lest he is the Unspoken One and Harry is the Chosen One.

“Alright, so he would be older than the Potter’s child, but how do you know his name is Harry?” Narcissa asked, drilling him for answers.

“There was a letter telling me his name, when he was born, and that he is a magical baby. No mention of the parents or a last name.”

“Where’s the letter now?” Narcissa asked, “Maybe we can use it to track the parents down and learn more about him.”

“Unfortunately, it burned after I finished reading it. It only gave me enough time to read it a couple of times before catching fire. The parents must have thought of that,” Severus answered.

It wasn’t a complete lie, the letter was burnt, but by Severus. He didn’t want to risk the chance of someone coming into his house and finding the letter. It would make covering who Harry was much easier if they were found.

“Alright, so,” Lucius glanced over to Adam while Narcissa spoke, “Who is your friend?”

“I’m Dr. Andrew McArthur,” Andrew replied with a nod to the both of them, “I am a pediatric Med-Wizard and have been helping Severus with young Harry here.”

“McArthur,” Narcissa replied, “I have heard of you. You’re the new one that just started practicing what about three years ago?”

“I am,” Andrew replied.

“I have been wanting to get in with you with my Little Draco, but Lucius insisted on Dr. Otterton. Family doctor and all,” Narcissa replied with a mocking Lucius imitation at the last part.

Lucius looked over at his wife with a look of insult, “I do not sound like that, and besides, Dr. Otterton has been a family friend of my grandfather, I didn’t want to hurt his feelings.”

Narcissa patted his knee, “It’s alright, Dear. Anyways, I’ve been wanting to start coming to you because I have heard great things from some of the other mothers.”

“Well, I appreciate that, Lady Malfoy. If you ever do want to see me, just owl my office and we can get you in quickly. Since I’m still new, I have many openings.”

The group fell into silence, each one in their own thoughts. Lucius and Narcissa both thinking about Severus having a child and possible love interest? They still weren’t sure about that one. Severus thinking about how to keep this a secret for a little longer from certain people thinking about the Dark Lord and Dumbledore, having a feeling there were spies of his own within the ranks of the Dark Lord like he was. Andrew was just trying to figure out what exactly he gotten himself into, he was just supposed to be a simple pediatric Med-Wizard.

“Could I hold him, Sev?” Narcissa asked, wanting to do it for a while now.

Severus knew he could trust her, so he nodded his head and passed Harry over to her. Narcissa took Little Harry who had been asleep for a while now and cradled him to her chest. Lucius leaned over in his seat to also get a better look at the little boy.

“Hello, Little One, I’m your Auntie Narcissa or Auntie Sissy, and this is your Uncle Lucius,” Narcissa replied in a soft tone.

“You can call me Uncle Luce when you get older,” Lucius replied in an equally soft tone.

Narcissa ran her finger gently down the little boy’s nose and across his lips where he began rooting. Narcissa and Lucius were both falling in love with the little boy.

“I do need to ask of you,” Severus began, “to keep this a secret for now. That includes the Dark Lord.”

Lucius and Narcissa exchanged glances with one another.

“That’s a large thing to ask of us, Sev, and you know it,” Lucius replied.

“I know, I just need time to still figure this out. I didn’t exactly prepare to be taking on a child. I still don’t know what I’m going to do or even what I can do,” Severus answered.

“Well, you’re going to keep the baby,” Narcissa replied as if it were a matter of fact.

“I don’t know,” Severus began.

“Severus,” Narcissa replied, hardening her voice as she handed the baby over to her hisband, “you’re going to keep the baby.”

Severus gulped, the fiery look in her eyes and the darkening of her gaze, he knew what that meant, “Yes, I’m going to keep the baby.”

“Excellent!” Narcissa replied, becoming cheerful again and clasping her hands together, “We should be going. Do be a dear, Severus, and keep us posted and if you ever need help, just owl or floo.”

“Yes, of course, Sissy,” Severus replied, a little uneasy.

Narcissa walked over to Severus before pecking him on the cheek. Lucis handed Harry back over to Severus before guiding his wife over to the fireplace and throwing in the floo powder. She took her husband by the arm and they were gone in a whirl of flames.

“Severus,” Andrew replied, frozen in fear, “Your friend is scary.”

“Indeed,” Severus answered back.

Narcissa and Lucius had flooed back to their home after their “little” discovery of Severus. They were making their way down the hall to their bedroom.

Narcissa’s eyes widened and she grasped Lucius by the arm stopping them both in their tracks, “Lucius!”

Lucius startled, looked at his wife in concern, “What?”

“Do you know what this means?” Narcissa replied, a twinkle in her eyes.

Lucius knew what that twinkle meant, “What?” He was scared at this point.

“Playdates,” Narcissa replied, a Cheshire grin forming on her face.

Lucius swallowed hard, “Yes my dear, anything you want.”
