Bag hoisted on his shoulder and a half eaten sandwich in his hands Taehyung was hastily dashing out of the kitchen when he heard his mother yelling at him.
"TAE, EAT YOUR BREA-"
"ALREADY DID, MOM." Taehyung shouted back.
"AT LEAST-"
"GETTING LATE, SEE YOU, BLEW YOU A KISS, CATCH IT, LOVE YOU, BYE."
He heard his mother yell again, something about not to interrupt her in the middle as she wished him a good bye at the end, causing a fond giggle to tumble out of his cherry lips while he knew both his dad and older brother were already at the office.
Workholics.
Reaching out Taehyung was embraced with the cold morning breeze as it swept his honey locks side to side, warm rays of sun washed over his pale skin, saturating it into a golden hue. The pleasant warmth danced against his slightly reddened cheeks, seeping deep within, sweetly contrasting the goosebumps littered over his exposed body parts due to the chilly wind.
His brown orbs rolled over the gigantic garden while walking up to the garage when he caught sight of a male watering the plants.
The thought of school out of his mind he dashed in the male's direction, calling out to his hyung.
"Seokie hyung!"
Hoseok whipped around, only to be engulfed in a bear hug, nearly tripping over his own two feet but managed to dig his heels in the ground.
Snuggling in the older's neck, Taehyung whined, hoping his plea would be returned.
"I don't wanna go to school with him."
"With who? Jungkook Ssi?"
The honey haired boy peeled himself off of the other and made a disgusted face as if he had been offended.
"Jungkook Ssi who? I only know Mr. Junk Poker!"
Setting the clinging koala down Hoseok sniggered.
Unlike Jin, Taehyung's Seokie hyung almost never reprimanded him for the innovative names the puppy eyed boy gifted his victims with.
Instead, he would join in, snickering and giggling along whenever Taehyung's exquisite creativeness decided to spurt out randomly.
As of now, the muscled bodyguard seemed to be the new prey of Taehyung's innovation.
"It's not in my hand, Tae bear. Jungkook Ssi directly requested Mr. Kim to let him take over all the responsibilities regarding your security, in any way. I'm sorry." Hoseok explained, watching the teenager's face fall in a pouty scowl as he walked them to the garage.
"Then I need a serious talk with my dad."
"I don't think it'll work, bear. Jungkook is very-.... persuasive."
"Persuasive? Did you, by any means, see a towel clad, very persuasive, unknown male looking for his lost clothes last night, hyung?"
"I know you did it."
"You can't accuse me without proper evidence, Seokie hyung." Taehyung's chin jutted up in the air.
Hoseok only responded with a radiant chuckle and Taehyung confirmed the sun had actually stolen his hyung's luminance and warmth.
Hoseok handed the honey haired boy his bag that he had taken a hold of while walking when his attention fixed at the bodyguard silently waiting for them by the matte black Mustang GT.
Taehyung's wide stretched mouth in a box grin instantly clamped shut seeing his bodyguard and he walked the rest of the way to the car silently, after wishing Hoseok goodbye, sat inside the car and fastened his seat belt, successfully ignoring the presence of Jungkook.
"Jungkook Ssi."
The raven head halted in his tracks at the call of his name.
Looking back he was met with Hoseok walking closer to him, a smile beaming on his heart shaped lips.
"Taehyung may behave as a brat but he means no harm. Just.. keep this in mind."
The chestnut haired sunshine uttered, soft features morphed into a gentle manner at the bodyguard who gave him a stare, dark orbs holding a steady gaze.
"I believe we both have different definitions of harm then, Hoseok Ssi. I nearly had my life sneezed out of myself last night. What do you think?"
Jungkook could see the other pressing his lips together to bite back a laugh, and he was glad for that.
He couldn't handle another wave of first-hand embarrassment hit him like a tidal wave after he had already wailed himself in it the whole night.
The unfortunate incident had made it to the gossiping circles inside the Kim's mansion like the hottest talk of the town.
"I believe Taehyung needs a little bit of disciplining, that's all, Jungkook Ssi."
Jungkook glanced at the teenager occupying the passenger's seat while his pale, dainty fingers mindlessly picked at the fabric of his uniform pants, eyes gazing into the distance.
"My start here might have been a bit rocky-" arms folding over his chest as his unblemished face turned back to Hoseok, " -but rest assured, I'll make sure Taehyung grows up into a disciplined young man by the end of my term."
Hoseok offered another grateful smile as he watched the raven head walk around the car towards the driver's side.
Jungkook slid in his seat and waved at the chestnut haired through the window before revving the engine to life as the car elegantly rolled out on the red brick path.
Hoseok had his eyes fixed at the vehicle until it ventured out of his sight and he returned to his everyday duties.
Twenty minutes of absolute silence and neither spoke as the car pulled up by the academy.
Taehyung wordlessly undid his seat belt and grabbed the door handle to open it but before he could leave, the locks slid back in their places with a click and the windows rolled back up.
It was a first that Taehyung felt being on the receiving end of mental frustration when it came to bodyguards and it made him want to rip the other's raven hair off his head.
His own were too pretty and soft to be offered as a sacrifice! Duh.
His burning eyes glared at Jungkook.
Jungkook only stared back, neutrally.
"Open the doors."
The honey haired boy wanted to sound like a roaring tiger establishing the claim over his rightful throne but his voice came out trembling due to his irritation.
Jungkook remained unbothered though, Taehyung's demand going right over his head.
"You're going to get out of the car, go straight to your class room, study hard and when the final bell rings, be right back here, Taehyung. I'll be waiting. If I find you sneaking out with your friends, or causing trouble, just let me make this thing clear-," shifting the balance on his tatted hand that rested on the steering wheel Jungkook leaned towards Taehyung, earning himself a look that screamed 'w-what are y-you doing?'
"-there will be severe consequences. Am I clear?"
Oh, Jungkook could hear the stutter too, even through the boy's eyes. Mhm..
Our bodyguard is talented, don't underestimate him.
As for the severe circumstances-
In a normal situation this would have sounded kinky.
A sugar daddy warning their baby boy of hard punishments in the bedroom if he was disobeyed.
But neither was Jungkook Taehyung's sugar daddy nor Taehyung knew anything about it.
Innocent virgin boy.
But the innocent boy knew one thing by heart.
Yeonseo had rose two spots up his exclusive hit list.
"Just how much did that Peetopus tell you?"
"Behave Taehyung! I don't want foul things coming out of your mouth."
"Today's news break-" Taehyung turned his whole body to the ravenette to deliver his sinister death stare, "-you're not my mother."
"Positive. I'm your bodyguard, which means-" Jungkook leaned closer causing the boy to hit the door, "-I can hang you upside-down if I have to."
Taehyung had never wanted to know how to swing his fist at someone straight in their nose so much as now.
He wished he could destroy the perfectly sloped nose of the other's with his own beautiful hands and clean the cocky smirk off the older's face with bleach, along with his mouth.
Talks too much.
"Am. I. clear, Taehyung?"
See?
Not wanting to bear the irritating presence of his bodyguard anymore Taehyung managed to force out a yes through his gritted teeth.
Jungkook slumped back in his seat and Taehyung subtly breathed a long drag of air to clear his lungs of his bodyguard's scent.
The doors clicked indicating Jungkook had unlocked them and Taehyung, without wasting a beat, dashed out.
He needed something to distract himself from the frustrating bodyguard of his.
Air.... Breath in. Breath out.
Feel the wind caress your face like a lover's tender embrace, let the birds serenade you with their melodious chirping and-
"Do you have your schedule, Taehyung?"
JUNK POKER!!
I also have a boot clad foot that desperately wants to kiss your place where the sun never shines-
"Taehyung. Answer me." Taehyung heard Jungkook reiterate, pressing every word along.
He whipped around to his bodyguard peeping through the window and threw a sweet eye smile that looked more like a grimace, considering the utmost efforts he was doing to prevent himself from breaking into hysterical shouting.
"Yes. I have my schedule. Thank you for caring Mr. Bodyguard nim."
"Is it just me or do you always smile as if you're holding a fart in your ass, Taehyung?"
Taehyung felt his bum sent to Mars, zipping past Mercury and then rolling back to earth, all in a jiffy.
Sure his best friend cursed, all the time and he was used to it.
But hearing the blunt words roll off his bodyguard's mouth he met only a day ago made his skin feel tingly all of a sudden.
This time the cold breeze wasn't the only reason for the goosebumps that crept up his spine.
His system warned him of unidentified emotions intruding his sense and before the smirking male holding a peculiar gaze in front of him could see his burning ears, he turned around, flabbergasted, visibly sporting various shades of red dusting his bread cheeks and eyes trained at the ground out of embarrassment.
I hope your mouth chokes on air.
The boot clad foot that desperately wanted to kiss the male's private parts stomped the ground instead as he made his way inside the academy but-
Taehyung wanted to wail, at the fates for playing him dirty like that when his ears picked up another set of heavy boots thumping on the ground behind him.
Of course, he didn't need to turn around and tarnish his eyes with the sight of a junk poker following him. He could tell.
And If Taehyung hated his bodyguards, he absolutely despised them following him.
Jungkook being no exception, no matter how handsome.
"Why are you following me? I said I won't cause trouble and be back the minute school's over." Hands bunched into tight fists, he inquired Jungkook as both of them walked through corridors.
"I'm fulfilling my duty to look after you as your bodyguard, ."
Taehyung huffed disbelievingly, puffing air in his cheeks.
He kept his head low while he could feel the stares practically burn a hole in his head as the passing by people gave them looks, both in awe and envy.
Taehyung was beautiful and he knew it and as much as he despised his bodyguard he couldn't deny that Jungkook too, oozed sheer beauty.
Not that Taehyung would admit it to the older's face.
Quickly cleansing his thoughts of the raven head his brown orbs caught a glimpse of a beaming chubby face owned by a shorter male with mochi smile, turning a corner ahead of them.
Only a moment short of parting his mouth to shout for his best friend Taehyung felt a tug on the straps of his bag as he was swiftly yanked back and he skid to an abrupt stop.
AAAAAAHHH. JUST KILL ME ALREADY!
Taehyung finally wanted to pull out his own hair now.
He wordlessly turned on his heels to face his bodyguard with a blank, expression-less stare.
"Uh uh. Not so fast, Taehyung. Remember what I said. Now repeat after me."
And if he felt like pulling out his precious, soft hair earlier, he definitely felt the need to drown himself in the Bermuda Triangle now.
The honey haired boy's blank eyes effectively widened and mouth almost swept the floor as Jungkook's demand registered in his brain, letter by letter.
Did Jungkook find it funny?
What did he take Taehyung for?
A toddler?
But reasonably thinking, any brash word spoken by Taehyung would impact his reputation in a school he would be studying in for the next three years.
Now, Taehyung had always been polite and respectable towards others, except, his bodyguards and the people on his hit list, hence, he had a good reputation, and on the very first day of his high school he definitely couldn't afford to let the Junk Poker ruin his image that was going to stick to him for a long time.
First impressions, you know.
So, hesitantly, albeit with great self control, he willed himself to comply by the command.
Not forgetting to roll his eyes and making it very obvious for the bodyguard to see.
Jungkook remained unbothered whatsoever as he instructed the teenager word by word, indeed, like a toddler!
"I will-"
Taehyung breathed in, then breathed out.
"I will-"
"-not ditch the class-"
"-not ditch the class-"
"-and come straight back."
"-and come straight back."
He flushed with embarrassment, seeing the onlookers gawking at him like he had grown nine heads. Murmurs and faint voices of snickering broke out among the few students present in the hallway.
The teenager wished to be snarfed up by the very ground itself right then and there.
His fists bunched up tightly and eyes clamped shut as nostrils flared to breath in greedy intakes of air.
Breath. Breath. Breath. Brea-
"Now you really look like holding a fart in your ass, Taehyung.... Loosen up, kid. You've classes to attend."
Jungkook's tone remained soft as usual but Taehyung could never miss the little tinge of cockiness lacing it, as an accomplished smile caved up to his smirking lips and he zipped past an internally wailing Taehyung whose skin radiated a hundred shades of crimson, cheeks an eternal inferno of blazing fire.
He took a moment to gather his potentially hanging-by-a-thread sanity-...., then cursed his bodyguard.
"AAAAAAHH. ABSOLUTE FRIGGING SON OF A BROKEN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE WITH NO CHIPS I HATE HIM HE'S A BUMHOLE!"
His little ranting episode came to an abrupt halt hearing a giggly laughter resonate right beside himself.
Taehyung's brown eyes fluttered open to a sight of his best friend doubling over, clutching his midsection, fluffy auburn strands of hair bouncing hilariously as his whole body buzzed with wheezing laughter.
"D-damn...first... he made you listen to him, then, he made you curse in your language, then, he made you repeat after him like a toddler in kindergarten. He's dope.... Bodyguard 1, Taehyung 0."
Taehyung groaned under his breath.
"You're supposed to be on my side, Jimin."
"I am on your side, what are you saying?" Jimin barely held himself from bursting into a fit again. "But it's also a truth that my loyalties lie with ripped bodyguards in leather pants and leather jackets."
"Minnie!"
"Alright. OK. Sorry." Jimin tried composing himself after the intense bout of laughing as it desperately tried bubbling out again seeing the scowling face of Taehyung.
"Help me find my class. That son of a sagged monkey has murdered my brain cells with a butter knife. Aaarrrgh!"
Jimin's carefully schooled face into a sombre not so sombre expression twisted comically as he guffawed
once again and Taehyung helplessly watched his best friend tease him.
Oh, he will get back at his bodyguard and make sure the ravenette's absolute bumholery bounces back to bite him in his own bum.
4 minute 5 seconds-
4 minute 8 seconds-
4 minute 12 seconds-
4 minute 27 seconds-
4 minute 59 seconds-
5 minutes!
For Jungkook the nature of the job really didn't matter.
He never made a fuss about what's his duty entailed.
He carried out his job dutifully regardless of how dangerous or risky it turned out.
But his seniors and juniors and peers and the very little circle of friends he had did witness him frowning over the simple aspect of-
-waiting!
It was never his forte.
The ravenette would feel his nerves practically screw themselves while waiting for something.
And on this particularly fortunate (read unfortunate) day the raven head found himself waiting for puppy eyed boy, specifically, when he had instructed Taehyung, very commandingly, to not be late.
But the wicked incarnation of the devil himself chose to do the exact opposite and disobeyed him.
One more thing Jungkook despised.
Being disobeyed.
And the raven headed bodyguard had special ways to deal with people who dared to test his patience.
The tip of his tongue darted out smoothly grazing the lower lip, pointer finger rhythmically strumming against the steering wheel.
Taehyung was late by a whole five minutes and eleven seconds and counting ....
Jungkook decided to wait for another five minutes as his sharp eyes stood focused ahead, scanning over the sea of uniform clad students filling out of the academy building.
1 minute.
No sign of Taehyung.
2 minutes.
2 minute 55 seconds.
Still nothing.
3 minutes.
3 minute 59 seconds.
4 minutes.
4 minute 59 seconds.
5 minu-
Fucking fuck it!.
Pushing an angry breath out of his ruddy lips Jungkook stepped out of the vehicle and slammed the door shut and stomped his way inside the now almost empty building.
He turned corners, searched hallways, corridors, outdoors, indoors, classes, even the restrooms and yet the devil in disguise was nowhere to be found.
He asked the teachers, a few remaining students about Taehyung and came up with no clue.
A trained bodyguard, with experience worth years and a single honey haired boy had his mind throbbing with migraine.
Taehyung sure had some serious taming coming his way.
Having practically scavenged the whole building the rooftop remained the only place to be searched as he climbed two steps at once and almost threw the door off its hinges in frustration upon reaching atop the flight of stairs.
To his surprise Kim Taehyung laid sprawled over the concrete surface, lazily moving his hands around in a seemingly deep conversation with a auburn haired boy beside him.
Jungkook felt his brain cells flare up in a sudden surge of anger.
"Taehyung." He roared.
The honey haired boy's head lifted up a bit while eyes locked with the fiery ones.
Oh, he looks peed. Good!
He sat up, slowly put the yellow blazer on and stood up to his feet, sluggishly dusted his pants in slow motion then hoisted his bag over his shoulder.
Slower than a sloth.
Purposefully annoying the daylights out of his bodyguard who, all the while kept seething internally, eyes shooting daggers yet his face remained blank.
"You were ordered to not be late, Taehyung."
"Umm... what was I supposed to do, Mr. Bodyguard nim? You weren't here and-"
"You thought of sitting your ass on the rooftop?!
"Of course you sit your bum on the rooftop and everywhere else too, unless you sit upside down. I'd totally understand if you do. No need to be embarras-"
Jungkook hissed angrily and he was sure his ears caught the auburn head quietly snickering to himself in the background.
This puppy eyed boy would definitely make Jungkook age faster.
And die quicker.
"I thought you said it was your duty to fulfill as my bodyguard to look after me so I didn't leave without my bodyguard, as I should. " Taehyung gazed at the ravenette innocently, as if he wasn't doing it all on purpose.
Jungkook had never felt the need to be weary of losing his sane mind, not even in the midst of life threatening situations. He was an unyielding man of steel.
But Alas, one and a half day into the new job and the puppy eyed boy made him think otherwise.
He mentally sent a prayer for his brittle sanity.
And maybe, Jungkook must be watchful of what comes out of his mouth in front of the devil's reincarnation next time.
Point to be noted.
He exhaled, wishing to push all the irritation out.
His eyes fiercely blazed at Taehyung and he pulled the boy with himself while turning around to walk back.
Taehyung dug his heels in the ground.
"It's rude to ignore people, Mr. Bodyguard nim. Won't you meet my sweet friend. Jimin?"
A radiant grin carved its was on Taehyung's lips as he teetered on his heels in merriment, seemingly excited to introduce Jimin to his new bodyguard.
Jungkook turned his neck to glance at the brown haired, short boy who waved in response with a bashful smile playing on his plump lips.
Jungkook beamed as well, no malice, no anger, no frustration visible.
"Nice to meet you." Jungkook bowed a little then turned to Taehyung, his resting bitch face back on again and if it hadn't been for the self control Taehyung had on his facial expression, his eyes would have popped out of the sockets and mouth grazed the floor witnessing a complete 180 degree flip in Jungkook's demeanor.
He yanked Taehyung along as he started walking.
"Let's go. I'm going to make sure you never be late, ever again!"
"How much did we get, Taehyung?"
Currently standing under a neem tree in the Kim's garden, Jungkook asked an unbothered, tired looking Taehyung.
Not even after ten minutes of changing from his school uniform to a baby blue sweater and yellow shorts the ravenette had dragged Taehyung out in the garden to sit his ass down and diligently listen to him.
Taehyung, on the other hand paid zero attention.
"Huh?? Could you- uh- repeat that." Taehyung groggily mumbled, pencil nearly falling out of his grip when he rubbed his sleepy eyes.
"Ten minutes, eleven seconds waiting for you in the car, an additional seven minutes forty-five seconds to find you, then four minutes more to reroute to the vehicle and twenty-five to get back home, safe and sound. Now, add the numbers altogether and divide them with the distance from your school to here." Jungkook instructed and reluctantly, Taehyung did the math.
Jungkook stuffed his tatted hand inside the pocket of his leather pants and produced a stop watch. "What's the answer, Taehyung?"
"20.2." The sleepy boy muttered. "Now can I go?"
"Negative." Jungkook's eyes caught the teenager scowling at him as an irritated huff escaped him. "Twenty minutes and two seconds. That's the amount of time you'll be hanging by the neem tree, upside down.... as a consequence of you being late."
All the sleep and tiredness inside Taehyung vanished into thin air when the words settled in his mind.
He wanted to laugh.
He did laugh.
Mouth stretched wide in a box and teeth peeking out while his brown orbs squinted into crescents and he fell on his back, hands around his tummy.
After spending a good minute laughing his bum off he braced a hand against the trunk and pushed himself up to his feet. "And- hahahaa I'll- I'll do it because?!"
Jungkook remained stoic. His veiny hands smoothly slid into pockets and calmly, he took off walking towards the teenager.
Taehyung's laughter died down instantly at the close proximity of his bodyguard.
One step and their noses could bump.
Eyes wide, he gulped nervously the lump inside his throat.
"W-what are y-you doing?"
Taehyung stammered seeing Jungkook leaning in, closer than before as the hot breath of his bodyguard fanned his blush-reddened nape.
Flushed and embarrassed, his frozen body didn't dare move an inch.
"You will do it. Because I said so".
Ignoring the shivers that tingled down his spine at the husky voice rasping in his ear, Taehyung met his bodyguard's stern behavior with defiance, straightening his posture up and puffing his chest out.
Eye to eye, glowering gaze with a hard glare, though he looked like an angry kitten overpowered by a giant wolf yet it didn't stop the boy from pushing his face into Jungkook's.
And even after standing up to his full height Taehyung felt his bodyguard towering his meek frame.
"I'm not going to do it."
He whispered back.
"You're going to do it."
Jungkook deadpanned.
"No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are."
"NO, I'm NOT."
"YES, you are, Taehyung."
"No!"
"Yes."
"NO."
"Yes."
With every word Taehyung stepped back simultaneously while Jungkook kept advancing forward maintaining the minimum possible distance.
"Nope. Na ah. Ani!"
"Yes. You will."
"I said I will not- WHAT THE ACTUAL BUFFALO POOP!"
Taehyung shrieked, feeling something snuggly wrap around both his ankles and before it registered in his mind he found himself ten feet above the ground, hanging upside-down by the neem tree, his loose, baby blue sweater rode up as well pooling around his neck while his dainty hands frantically flailed about to remove the fabric off his eyes.
Peeking from under the fluffy sweater his burning eyes shot daggers at the bodyguard and noticed the barest hint of a smirk on the ravenette's face.
A booby trap?!
Seriously?
Alright!
If that's what Mr. Junk Poker wishes then so be it.
Taehyung would suffer.
In silence.
And when the time comes, when the ropes come off and he's let free, he would unleash his wrath and avenge his lost pride.
Kim Taehyung would bounce back to make-
"You look kinda cute upside-down. No offense, bear!"
Taehyung's wishful daydreaming shattered like a castle in the air hearing the cheerful voice of his Seokie hyung.
He craned his head up or more like down, finding Hoseok looking at him with lips pursed in a flat line but eyes shining with a mirthful glint, and the honey haired boy knew his hyung was stifling a laugh.
"Hyung." Taehyung cried out. "This is torture. Unacceptable, indecent, atrocious to an innocent child who's barely seventeen. Help me, hyung. Get me down."
Hoseok discreetly glanced at Jungkook finding him busy with a stop watch then looked back at Taehyung.
"I'm sorry. I can't." He offered an apologetic smile.
"Hyyyunng, Nnooo~~"
Taehyung swayed his body in the air to further strength his plea, both feet tied with a rope, yet it was soft enough to not bruise his ankles, and the moment his hands left the hem of the sweater it came rushing down over his eyes.
Again!
If he wasn't mistaken his ears also picked up a deep rumble like chuckle but it vanished as quickly as it sounded.
He whimsically flailed again, body dangling left right, struggling to remove the hindrance from his sight and when he did he found his bodyguard looking at him with a full blown cocky smirk splayed on his lips.
"Fifteen minutes to go, Taehyung. This guarantees you won't repeat the mistake of disobeying me, and quit moving about too much. It'll only drain your energy. We don't want you passing out now, do we?"
Great! The son of a broken chocolate chip cookie even had the audacity to feign care for Taehyung now!
Somewhere in the middle of those fifteen agonizing minutes the honey haired boy would prop himself up to reach the knot tied around his ankles, then exert too much force, exhaust himself and slump down again, letting the sweater draped over his face funnily.
Not that he could do any better!
He practically felt his blood evaporate through combustion everytime someone passed by, giving him a hilarious look, then sped walk to the other side snickering to themselves or whenever he caught his bodyguard staring him with a calculated gaze that Taehyung returned with a scowling, resting she-dog face of his own, equal parts angry and irritated.
Dangling down by the tree would have been an easy feat for Taehyung had he been bit by a radioactive spider.
Alas!
That was not the case.
Unable to find anything to busy his idle brain with, Taehyung devoted himself to observe and admire the nature around in a perspective no one else ever had.
Hanging upside-down courtesy of one handsome, uglybutt bodyguard of his.
Speaking of whom the raven head was currently occupying a seat, stop watch in hand, obsidian eyes glued at Taehyung, while Taehyung busied his hands to tuck the stubborn baby blue sweater of his in his shorts that time and again revolted against him and came flying down, baring his vision for a couple moments every now and then.
Jungkook absolutely found it hilarious. Taehyung thought.
For the bodyguard would pinch his lips tight, Taehyung could see, and avert his face to hide the smug smirk.
"Ouch!"
Twenty minutes and two seconds of hanging upside-down, his insides spiraled, metaphorically, and Taehyung met the ground butt first when Jungkook lowered him and he tried standing on his own two feet.
With pursed lips and a not so subtly smirking face the raven headed bodyguard offered Taehyung his tatted hand to pull him up.
The honey haired rewarded him with a dark look, then puffed his cheeks and slapped his hand away.
"I can take care of myself. Thank you very much."
He pushed up to his feet and dusted his pastel yellow shorts, hair ruffled as if a static charge zipped through them, sweater crumbled due to being bunched around his face all the while Jungkook stayed silent, observing the raging outburst of the puppy eyed boy who, oddly resembled an angry puppy indeed.
An unexpected chuckle escaped Jungkook at the sudden thought.
Taehyung froze mid-action.
His ablaze brown eyes glowered at the raven head.
"You find my suffering funny?! Taehyung threw his little hands up exasperatedly. "Of course you find my suffering funny!!"
Jungkook was, let's say, full on laughing now.
When was the last time the raven head laughed this freely?
Nevermind. Irrelevant point.
He had a horrified, disgusted, mortified, irritated face of an angry puppy-boy to savour.
Taehyung huffed stomping his feet to walk away when again, the bodyguard called for him
"I'm not a bad guy, Taehyung. But make no mistake, if you provoke me I won't think twice before repeating today's events. Hopefully, there won't be any need to."
Taehyung turned on his heels, hands pushed into the pockets and he smiled very sweetly.
Honestly, he lost count of how many times he had faked a smile today already.
"I don't do what I did last night on purpose, Mr. Bodyguard nim. But forgive me, my hands do things on their own when I see my bodyguard." His sweet smile stretched wider before flat lining into a blank expression.
"Hopefully you'll trip and fall on your feet. Good night."
Taehyung sped walk out of the garden with the everlasting scowl etched on his beautiful features leaving Jungkook to think back to the day.
It's been-... a very eventful day to put it in right words.
Jungkook would agree with it.
"If Taehyung's anger is anything to go by, I think you're the first one to crack his notorious habit of annoying the heck out of his bodyguards."
Jungkook craned his neck finding Hoseok leaning against neem tree.
"How so?" He occupied himself with the task of gathering the rope that remained dangling by the tree, ears trained at the chestnut haired male to listen to him.
"He's never gotten this frustrated with any of the previous security personnel. If anything, they feel the need to bang their heads against a wall instead."
Hoseok explained, watching Jungkook wrap the thick rope into a neat bundle. "It's important for him to know who has the upper hand here. Not everything is funny when, specially, it's his own life at risk here."
Jungkook moved about gathering and cleaning the place and put the rope aside by the foot of the tree when he was done. "And like I said, hopefully, there won't be any need to repeat today's happenings."
"Doubt that. I won't be surprised if Taehyung hasn't come up with something to strike back already." Hoseok chuckled, half amusedly, half in fondness.
"You seem to know him alot, Hoseok Ssi. How long have you been with Taehyung? Oh-.. um.... I'm just- curious."
"Long enough, infact, ever since he was in his diaper days, barely a couple months old."
Jungkook ceased his work to look at the male.
"That's uh..... quite some time." Not knowing what to say because that indeed was quite some time.
"Yeah. I might have been roughly ten then. Been around him since I was that young." Jungkook could see the fondness lingering behind the eyes as the male spoke of Taehyung. "It took him some time to warm up to me, and we have been inseparable when he did eventually. But uh.... unfortunately, I couldn't help him today. Thanks to you. No offense by the way, Jungkook Ssi."
Hoseok held one of his hand up while he pushed himself off the trunk, smiling.
"Just Jungkook is fine." The ravenette returned Hoseok's radiant smile, though, not as cheerful as the male beaming like sunshine. He admired at the back of his mind Hoseok's vibrant smile and cheerful persona.
"Great. Jungkook then. Have to go see if the brat has eaten yet. See you around-... Jungkook."
There wasn't much on his mind as the bodyguard resumed gathering random stuff scattered around and putting things back to their places, except, the bond the teenager and the chestnut haired male seemed to share.
The next time Jungkook entered his room for a good night's sleep, let's just say his good night's sleep went flushing down a drain and the poor bodyguard had to sleep in one of the guest rooms in the mansion, seething internally while a certain puppy eyed boy excitedly hopped on his bed despite sore ankles and a slight head ache, narrating yet another one of his feats to his best friend.
Oh! Jeon Jungkook had no idea what was coming to bite him in the ass next time.
