Chapter Text
Pulling out his small office chair, Nathan picked up his headset and hung it around his neck as he went to turn on his computer. Pressing a button on his webcam, that was when he was satisfied to see his Windows 11 Desktop Computer finally ‘awake’ with his custom screensaver showing him the time: 9:00, Friday, December 6, 2024. Quickly checking his phone, he noticed how the Teamiplier Channel was going to premier a live stream within the next hour. Putting the phone back down, that was when Nathan decided to log on.
After entering his information and waiting for the interface to finish loading, that was when Nathan opened his phone to ask his friends if they had Discord ready for their own live stream. Within seconds, the entirety of the Streamer Group and Felix all confirmed it. Even if Felix warned that he would be on and off due to having to handle a 1-year-old’s excitement for the Christmas holidays.
When the interface loaded in, that was when Nathan simultaneously opened Minecraft and waited for it to load while he logged into Discord to join the chat.
Nathan greeted, making his ‘icon’ light up with a green circle. “Good morning, it’s currently 9 AM and I have an idea for a livestream! Since Teamiplier will likely be in Among Us or Minecraft doing a ‘charity’ stream, we can do a Survival Minecraft one. What do you all think?”
Michael asked. “How will this work? Are we going to play while in Discord or do we have to use the YouTube chat with set rules? Also, why don’t you have a Twitch account, Nathan?”
“Twitch and News Services don’t mix. Also, it’s ‘pay-to-watch’. YouTube chat with set rules is what we’re going for. It’s D&D in Minecraft, what I’ve got in store. And this time, we’re all just going to be in our offices. So, if prompted – select ‘No’ to opening a Portal Door. I know that JACK will likely press yes and cause a vortex event.”
Felix laughed. “That’s Jack for you. What are the rules for the stream and gameplay? And when are you starting the stream?”
“When we get into the game, we can do a ‘collective’ introduction. I’m the ‘Game Master’ and as we go along, I will suggest ‘actions’ that you can discuss amongst yourselves in the chat. I’m allowed to read the normal chat, BUT – I can ONLY respond to $1 donations. I’m keeping it at a dollar, just so none of us break the bank.”
Sykkuno asked. “And what’s the goal for this server? Difficulty level and… world settings?”
“See how much of Minecraft we can beat in a day. It’s just after 9 AM, so I’m giving us 12 hours. Sorry if I reminded anyone of a certain Minecraft stream by Felix. We’re on EASY, as I don’t want any of us to rage-quit. Especially when MOST of us are in the same HOUSEHOLD. As for the settings – Default, I’m not touching them OR looking at them. Now… are we ready to jump into Minecraft and start the stream? Any questions? Oh, and… does anyone know where Corpse is? Did Elizabeth ask him to run some errands?”
Pokimane confirmed. “Yes, and it was also because she was concerned that Corpse might make your stream ‘restricted’ by bringing up ‘horror’ or installing THOSE modpacks. No one likes having to try and survive with horror game creatures in Minecraft. Also, Cameron stole Corpse’s mask, as it’s the rule of running errands. Normal surgical masks, not creepy face masks.”
With that, it was finally time to start the stream. Just like that, Nathan had created this Minecraft world and got everyone to join his game before he could do the introduction. But, what they all didn’t know… was that Jack DID commence a vortex portal event, disrupting his live stream and ending up in his server along with the rest of Teamiplier.
In Nathan’s Roleplay SMP…
Nathan began, as he activated the stream and played some gaming music. “Good morning everyone, I’m Nathan and welcome to the Roleplay SMP. In today’s session, we have to try and beat Minecraft within 12 hours. Since this is a ‘Roleplay’ – I’m the Game Master and my team gets to discuss what we should do if we come across a situation. But, decisions are only made if they submit a ‘Super Chat’, which is a $1 donation. Everyone, would you like to introduce yourselves?”
Immediately, Felix went first. “How’s it going bros, my name is – PEWDIEPIE!”
Valkyrae went next. “Hi hi, Valkyrae here, and welcome to another Minecraft stream.”
Sykkuno followed suit. “Oh, hey guys, I’m Sykkuno.”
Lily announced. “Hello, welcome back to the stream – I’m Lily and I’m being joined by Michael. Who didn’t open up a certain vortex portal this time.”
Pokimane smiled. “I’m Pokimane and I’m very impressed by that, Michael.”
Michael responded. “Oh, thank you.”
Jeremy stated. “I’m DisguisedToast, but you can just call me Jeremy.”
Tina and Fuslie lit up. “Finally, it’s us! Tina and Fuslie!”
Nathan concluded. “And with that, we can begin our journey. Is everyone ready for me to narrate the adventure and guide us all to our first ‘challenge’ of the game? Also, I will be responding to the ‘random’ donations that might appear as well. Understood?”
Everyone understood this as they moved their Minecraft characters into a group and allowed Nathan to lead the way. Even if they were questioning Nathan’s Minecraft character being almost identical to Felix when he did the Hej Monika video as well as when Nathan did THAT reveal at the end of Journalism in the Domain 2020.
As he approached the nearest biome, due to having started on the grasslands, Nathan narrated. “After being summoned into the Minecraft Realm, the sun is just rising, and you’re given about 10 minutes of daylight to prepare yourselves before night-time arrives. Nearby, is a forest full of oak, birch and dark oak trees. I did research and pale oak is a thing, but we’ll ignore it. Beyond this forest, is a tundra biome with a village at the foot of the mountains. But for now… discuss what we should do in this forest first. Do you want to march straight through even though it will take the majority of the day as well as your hunger or just try and start collecting wood and maybe try to slowly observe this place for any secrets?”
Observing the chat, Nathan was impressed at how cooperative they all were, and it wasn’t long until someone sent him a $1 Super Chat – Michael. Surprisingly, Michael had submitted an ‘explanation’ almost a paragraph long. Much to the shock of the others in the chat, who were questioning why Michael would over-elaborate what they had decided on.
Michael began. “Carve out a brief ‘path’ depending on how much wood we would need for the ‘basic’ – then we craft them. If we have enough time, continue to gather materials and continue to carve out the path. And hopefully, we should find a brief stone wall or cavern to mine before it gets too late. Hunting for secrets and animals sounds good. Will you be giving us any roles by any chance?”
Nathan responded as he began to lead them towards the forest. Maybe we can focus on the wood collection for now. It shouldn’t take us too long, and I’ll allow you all to explore this small area.”
Everyone cheered at this as Nathan then watched on at how they were quickly chopping a tree each before reporting to him. Even if this was a server where he would give them choices on what they wanted to do, Nathan decided that he should at least try and join in on the fun. Each of them had gathered between 4 to 7 pieces of oak wood, making it almost a stack of oak wood in the process.
Knowing what he must do, Nathan accepted the nearly 50 to 60 pieces of oak wood and turned half of them into oak planks, making that just over 100 oak wood. And with this, he made a crafting table, chest and a few tools that they’ll need for the adventure. During this time, the team had ventured out a bit more and had gathered most of the same materials, but it appeared that someone had some good news – good enough that they used a $1 donation JUST to announce it.
And that person was: Fuslie.
Fuslie announced. “I found a cavern and I had decided to chop down another tree so that I could make a crafting table as well as a pickaxe. With that, I quickly went in and collected some cobblestone for you Nathan. As well as bits of coal for torches. Here, you can have my supplies.”
Fuslie walked forth before emptying her inventory in front of Nathan. Everyone stood back as Nathan soon picked it all up. As he approached the crafting table, Nathan noticed how it was quickly reaching the ‘afternoon’ in the game. Leading him to quickly come up with another ‘decision’ that his team would have to make.
Nathan explained. “As it’s quickly becoming night and thanks to Fuslie, we have the materials to make torches, a furnace and stone tools. Should we just make a shelter and go and run some errands for 10 minutes, OR should we keep going and try and develop this playthrough out a bit more? I’ll quickly craft a few things while you all decide.”
While the team thought this over, Nathan surrounded the area with torches and crafted a furnace to put down next to the crafting table and chest. The only thing that they were lacking was a bed. But Nathan didn’t mind this as he soon got a response from one of his friends.
Michael stated. “Since we don’t have any beds, we should barricade ourselves in with a small 3-block high barrier, just high enough so that monsters don’t get to us. Once we get that done – we can take a 10-minute break. Just make a small barricade so that we can quickly pack up at sunrise.”
The team then got to work with making a small 7-by-7 wall and lit it all up before it was time to take a 10-minute break. Felix messaged to say that he might be a bit longer as he had to make a quick errand involving his son. Nathan understood this as he proceeded to guard the server until they all announced that they were back online.
While he was waiting, Nathan quickly brought up YouTube and checked on how Jack was doing with his Teamiplier stream. He was shocked to see how they were ‘failing’ to pull an all-nighter when it came to progression. He wanted to type in the chat some advice but decided to leave it – as he did believe that Jack would have a bit of Minecraft experience in him.
As Nathan watched on, he began to whistle one of Jack’s songs, ironically ‘All The Way’. But, he had just finished a full loop of it when his Discord pinged with a message from one of his friends, possibly about the Minecraft server.
