Work Text:

“This is getting ridiculous,” Yeo Halyun snaps, glaring at the person in the driver seat.

In return, Jaegal Lin grips the steering wheel, his lips pressed in a taut line, and turns around.

“A thing like you don’t get to speak,” the white haired man says through gritted teeth.

Jin Cheonwoo, sitting in the front row seat, sighs and looks at the two men glaring at each other. He opens his mouth as if he wants to say something and decides against it, sighing helplessly.

“Cheonwoo,” Jaegal Lin says, turning back to face the road, “Tell it that we are simply stuck in a traffic jam. There’s no way we’re lost.”

Cheonwoo shifts awkwardly in his seat and glances at Yeo Halyun, unsure on whether to speak or not.

Just how did the three of them end up in a car ride together?

Ah, he remembers now. The three of them happened to be close by, and since they were all invited to Jin Cheonhee’s Christmas dinner, they were in a rush to arrive there in time…. One thing led to another, and somehow his Hyung had suggested that the three of them ride the same car.

Well, since it was Jin Cheonhee who had spoken, no matter how much the two other people in the car couldn’t stand each other, they had to pretend and act cordial… And since the three of them didn’t exactly have a valid excuse not to ride in the same car…

Well, that’s the reason they ended up here.

Cheonwoo can’t stop himself from sighing again. He loved his Hyung, he really did — he would kill for his Hyung if needed, but he should’ve fought harder, he shouldn’t have given in to Jin Cheonhee’s puppy-dog eyes and agreed to ride in the same car with two people who absolutely hated each other’s guts.

The ride had been grueling, especially since the snowfall was extremely heavy, but the traffic jam just made things worse. Cheonwoo could see that Yeo Halyun was getting impatient, fiddling with his clothes— no, his dagger (god he really shouldn’t be surprised), and the White Dragon Godly Doctor was no better, his face tense and expression heavy.

Even Cheonwoo was beginning to feel restless, and he checked his phone for the nth time, noting that it was getting later… At this rate, they wouldn’t make it in time to his Hyung’s house to celebrate Christmas.

Urgh, this would definitely be the worst Christmas ever, Cheonwoo thought.

Spending Christmas without his Hyung? Terrible.

Spending Christmas with his Hyung’s Master and other sworn brother who were on the verge of killing each other? Even worse.

“Fuck.”

It was Yeo Halyun who spoke.

“Did you use the GPS?” He was obviously asking Jaegal Lin.

“Unlike some uncultured swine, I don’t need the GPS to find my way to my disciple’s house,” Jaegal Lin said curtly.

Cheonwoo could physically hear the way Yeo Halyun rolled his eyes.

“Yeah? Well, smartass, I just opened the GPS and I know a shortcut. It’ll get us out of this fucking traffic jam. Are you gonna wait here like some stupid prick, or will you let me drive?” His tone was taunting.

“I don’t see why I should let a Killer like you—”

“At this rate all of us will be late to Hyung’s Christmas dinner,” Halyun interjected. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend Christmas here with you.”

Jaegal Lin hesitated, and Cheonwoo cleared his throat.

“Uhm. Well, I think it doesn’t matter who drives as long as we arrive as soon as possible.”

The two men stared at him, and he continued. “Anyway, we don’t want Hyung to worry…”

Jaegal Lin sighed and muttered a “fine”, taking off his seatbelt and swapping seats with Yeo Halyun.

Yeo Halyun switched on his GPS and smoothly drove away from the traffic jam once he got the chance, going through an empty alley and making a few turns before he reached an narrow road.

“You’re sure this is the right way?” Cheonwoo asked.

“Of course I’m sure,” Halyun replied tersely. “My GPS can’t be wrong.”

Cheonwoo decided not to say anything, but as minutes passed, he couldn’t help glancing at Yeo Halyun’s GPS more and more frequently.

“Halyun….” He began slowly.

“Are we lost?”

Halyun didn’t answer, glaring at his GPS and muttering something under his breath.

“Death Star… if we’re actually lost I swear…” Jaegal Lin began, his voice laced with venom.

“Look, it’s not my fault! You’re the one who made a wrong turn in the first place!” Halyun growled.

“I thought you knew where you were going?!” Jaegal Lin hissed, snatching Halyun’s phone.

“Hey, give that back—”

“What is this??? Yeo Halyun!” Jaegal Lin snarled, “You’ve input the wrong address! This isn’t Cheonhee’s home at all! His home is in Westford Street Number Two, not West Ford Number Two… There’s a difference you fucking idiot!”

Cheonwoo groaned and opened his phone.

Just great. Westford Street and West Ford were in two complete opposite directions.

So now, not only were they lost, they were getting father away from his Hyung’s home.

“Fuck you,” Yeo Halyun muttered, the veins on his forehead twitching, “Give me back my phone. There’s no way I’m wrong, I added Hyung’s address as my favorites…”

“Look!” Jaegal Lin was practically shoving the phone in Halyun’s face. “You. Are. Wrong.”

“Fuck!” Yeo Halyun yelled, stepping on the gas and swerving the car in a U-turn.

“Hey, I can feel your murderous aura from here,” Cheonwoo finally spoke up. “If you kill us, Hyung’s gonna be mad.”

At his words, the other two seemed to calm down somewhat, and the car was enveloped in awkward silence.

“How about… I drive?” Cheonwoo asked, breaking the silence.

“…Fine. But make sure not to get lost,” Jaegal Lin replied.

Cheonwoo nodded, and Yeo Halyun stopped the car so that they could switch seats. As he settled into the driver’s seat, Jin Cheonwoo inwardly felt like crying. The next few hours would probably feel like hell.

…If he really did spend Christmas with these two, it would be the death of him.

Jin Cheonwoo drove in silence for a while, when suddenly…

Three notifications sounded at the same time, and all three men checked their phones, thinking Cheonhee had texted them.

…But no, it was a message from Sama Hyeon.

He had sent a picture of him and Jin Cheonhee, posing together.

As if that wasn’t infuriating enough, he had added a caption that read: [Did you like how I messed with your GPS coordinates? LOL~~~ Enjoy Christmas with just the three of you, losers~~~]

“…I’m going to kill him,” Yeo Halyun growled.

“You won’t have to,” Jaegal Lin smiled, venom dripping from his words. “I’m afraid I’ll beat you to it.”

Jin Cheonwoo rolled his eyes.

Well, while those two fought over who got to kill Sama Hyeon, he could smile obediently in front of his Hyung. After all, those two would do the dirty work for him.
