Chapter Text
Draco sighed contentedly as he settled back onto one of the large pillows in what he called his reading room. He and Harry had been looking for a new house outside of London, when their estate agent brought them here. It was exactly what they wanted and when Draco had seen the lovely nook, there was no turning back. They'd made an offer far above the asking price and had moved in six weeks later.
Draco had immediately turned the area into a cosy spot filled with pillows and warm blankets. When they lived in London, Draco would more often than not grade his papers in their bed, which annoyed Harry no end when he'd roll over onto the sharp point of a quill. Now their bed was quill free and used for much more enjoyable activities.
With a smile, Draco opened one of the hidden drawers and pulled out a stack of potions essays. He'd just started in when he heard the soft pop of Apparition and the not so soft stumbling of his husband, who never could seem to land quietly.
Harry walked through the doorway, smiling at Draco. Even after all this time, Draco couldn't believe that smile was for him. Harry crossed the room in three quick strides, leaning down to capture Draco's lips in a long and promising kiss.
"I didn't expect you home so soon. Catch the bad guys, Potter?" Draco said playfully.
Harry laughed. "Let's just say the world is safe again thanks to my team."
Draco patted Harry on the chest. "I'm glad you're here, but you smell like burst spells and…" he sniffed, "is that bubotuber pus?" He shook his head at Harry's nod. "I don't even want to know. Go shower and I'll put these papers aside until tomorrow."
"I love you," Harry said, kissing Draco on the top of his head before heading toward their bedroom.
Draco looked lovingly at his husband, knowing that tonight the nook would make a warm and cosy place to show Harry just how happy Draco was to have his husband was home early.
