"Kuina!"
"Usagi!"
"You're okay!"
"Yes. Where is Chishiya?"
"I don't know. Have you seen Arisu?"
"No. Let's go look."
"Okay."
-
"Chishiya!" Kuina ran up to her friend.
"Arisu!" Usagi ran up to her...lover...whatever they were.
"Is it alright if I tell you guys something?" Chishiya asked.
"Sure." Arisu said.
"I-" He collapsed, red staining his jacket. He loved that jacket.
"Chishiya!" Kuina cried, but she didn't dare take a step closer to him. Arisu turned, gun in hand.
"Nigari." He hissed.
"Me. You. And Chishiya. Let's fight."
"No." Arisu snapped. "I'm done fighting."
"We'll see." He pointed the gun at Usagi. But then he saw Kuina. He looked at Chishiya and pointed the gun at her. Saw his eyes widen. Niragi smirked. He finally wiped that nonchalant expression off of that smug face. He pulled the trigger.
-
Kuina knelt down. She wasn't going to live. She's never see her mother again. Who would look after her? She waited, but death never came. No pain. No bullet. But she'd heard the gun go off. She opened her eyes.
Chishiya stood in front of her, another circle of red staining his jacket. "Chishiya!" She screamed. Asiru had shot Niragi, they were out of danger, but...
"Why would you do that?" She screamed at him. She began applying pressure.
"I wanted to do something out of character." He grinned at her. He reminded her of a cat.
"You are so stupid." She laughed as she cried.
"Maybe."
"What were you going to sat earlier?"
"I think I've learnt the value of life."
"What?"
"And your life is worth more than ten of mine."
"Chishiya."
"Kuina."
"I..."
"The king of spades is coming!" Someone shouted.
"Hide him under the car." Arisu instructed her.
"Kuina..." Chishiya spoke.
"Yes, Chishiya?"
"Live."
"I will."
She'd live. And find her way back to him.
-
Kuina walked around the hospital. She was being nosy, really. But she was hoping to find her mother. And...she had the urge to search. For someone. But she wasn't sure who. But she had a feeling that someone was missing from her life. She glimpsed a man with bleached hair and black roots. But she couldn't think of when she'd met him. Still, he seemed familiar somehow.
"Kuina?" A voice spoke. A woman.
"Mother!"
She'd try and find that man again later. For now, she had to hold her mother. To make sure this was real.
