His Radiancy’s pacing, so Cliopher is at his desk again. He doesn’t want to be at his desk. He would like for his Radiancy to sit, so Cliopher can kneel at his feet and maybe just put his head down and let his mind drift awhile. But his Radiancy gets strange and tense if Cliopher doesn’t at least work on reports while kneeling. Which is fair, Cliopher thinks. He’s not sure what he’d do, if someone wanted to bow at him all day without doing anything else. Call for a doctor or guard, probably, and stay far away.

He ponders whether greater acts of fealty would quiet the magic. For awhile Cliopher even contemplates buying one of the little portraits and shrines of his Radiancy. In fact, he wouldn’t need to buy it; he could just ask the local quartermaster. Cliopher takes regular inventory of the castle, and there’s an entire room with nothing but Imperial paraphernalia like that. It would be a perfectly appropriate requisition from his Radiancy’s personal secretary.
His Radiancy would hate it, though; and Cliopher doesn’t want to worship him.
Just... kneel, at his feet. And stay there. For hours.
