Chapter 1: Lady Cassandra

Chapter Text

She felt the loss of every organ, every bone, every nerve. Pain, so much pain in the beginning and then there was none. No sensations. Good or bad. She grieved the loss of everything she lost to survive and then moved on.

Cassandra watched others wither away and die. Never willing to go to the lengths she had. Even though they feared death more than she did.

“Grotesque,” that's what they called her. She had been beautiful once. Admired for that beauty greatly once. Now there was no admiration. There was disgust. There was fear. But never admiration ever again.

Chapter 2: Doctor & Donna

Chapter Text

The Doctor understood Halloween. He was at the first-ever Halloween. He'd seen change and progress over the years, years that Donna hadn't and wouldn't ever see. She knew it, he knew it. That was the curse of being friends with a time lord.

Which was why she was confused about why he thought giving trick and treaters carrots instead of sweets would Be well received.

And why he could fight off aliens, but seemed incapable of stopping a few kids from egging her house. Or why he decided that he should teach them how to throw things to hit things to cause the most damage.

Chapter 3: The Master/The Doctor

Chapter Text

The Rani has fallen. The Master has no doubt she will regenerate or time will bring her back, just to find a new way to kill. He's died too many times and been brought far too many times than he wished to remember. The Master has no intention of dying to just be thrust back into the time war, not again. He'd regenerate and hide. He'd remember nothing of his past.

Neither the time lords nor the Daleks would find him. But the Doctor would. “Run away with me, we will go to the edge of the universe, when everything is dying. No one will find us there,” the Doctor had said when they were children.

Chapter 4: Jackie Tyler

Summary:

set when Rose is missing for a year

Chapter Text

She knows what people think of her. Jackie Tyler, good time girl. Could never find a man stupid enough to stick around after Pete died. The truth was she didn't want anyone else. He was the love of her life. Her soul mate.

Jackie put everything she had into raising Rose. Maybe she wasn't the perfect mother, but she tried. Really tried to do her best.

Now Rose is missing. She sees it in their eyes, they blame her. If Rose is dead it's because she didn't teach her how to be safe, if she's alive then she's run away from her.

Chapter 5: Kate/Ibrahim

Chapter Text

“Kate, he's a guard dog, he's fine,” Christofer sighed, as she allowed his Doberman Platinum to get up onto their bed. “He can handle hearing fireworks.”

“He doesn't like them. The Doctor told me when he was last here. Platinum wants to sleep with us when there are fireworks,” Kate said, scratching behind the dog's ear, ignoring Christofer's pout that he was currently getting cock blocked by a dog. “Oh, and he wants steaks for breakfast.”

“Why don't we just book the dog into a spa and get him his own butler next?” Christofer mumbled as Kate made a fuss of Platinum.

Chapter 6: Lucy Saxon/The Master

Notes:

Content Warnings

Domestic violence

Chapter Text

She had loved him. Harold Saxon. Lucy had loved him in a way that she could never explain to anyone. No words existed for what she felt. When she found who and what he was she had loved him still, loyal. He didn't need to use his tricks to keep her line.

The horror of seeing the end of everything, the pain and stench of life decaying into nothingness. Death touching everything. It had been enough to make her believe in his plans.

Even when he first turned cruel towards her, she wore the bruises on her flesh with love and almost pride. The love stopped when she finally understood he could never love her back. That she was no different to a pet. A dog that the owner beats when bored. It is then she knew one day, one day given half the chance she would kill him.

Chapter 7: Sarah Jane x Twelfth Doctor

Chapter Text

His face was old. Sarah Jane knows that the face the Doctor wore meant nothing, young or old it didn't matter. But this one–this one has the face of the old. Old and weary. As if he has lost everything in the universe. She suspected that this Doctor had already seen her dead and buried, but came back when she was alive because he was lonely.

He sought out a comforting face from the past, he sought out her. She wished he would tell her what happened, what made him so broken. But it was enough that he came back to her even if it was only for a little while.

Chapter 8: Susan Triad

Chapter Text

The memories don't go away and she thought they would with time. Sutekh was gone or at least that's what the Doctor said but all the versions of her are stuck inside her head.

Memories. some are vague. Some are strong.

She has loved and lost over and over throughout time and space. Susan has been kissed under alien skies that no longer exist.

Walked on sand and snow, and had metal skin and flesh like that of a jellyfish. She can't explain what that is like to anyone. No one on Earth could understand what it is like to have been so many people while not really being any of them.
