The Emotional Hero: Violet Evergarden

Chapter 3: First Day

Chapter Text

I don't own Violet Evergarden or MHA, please support all official releases.

Violet's POV

She walked down the halls of UA dressed in the school uniform, parasol in one hand and typewriter in the other.

Violet walked with a purpose, having already memorized the entire school layout so she could not get lost and make it to her classes on time.

She was actually ten minutes early for class, but if her time in the army taught her anything, it was a simple phrase that some of her fellow soldiers would always joke about.

'If you are early, you are on time. If you are on time, then you are late. And if you are late…' the last bit always had a different ending depending on who said it, but Violet has taken that saying to heart and as such always arrives at her destination early.

It wasn't much longer till she came upon the large door that would be her classroom, class 1-A. Violet thought the door was so large due to people with gigantification quirks, people like Mount Lady coming to mind.

Opening the door, her eyes couldn't help but scan the room quickly as she noticed two people already in the room; she didn't even notice her body tensing before it calmed down again.

There was a dark haired girl with a ponytail sitting at one of the desks, her hand raised and waving at Violet.

Violet waved back with her gloved hand which the girl found curious if Violet was reading her expression correctly.

The other person in the room, and the one that caused her to unconsciously tense, was in the corner of the room right next to her in a yellow sleeping bag.

She immediately recognized who the person was; Shoto Aizawa, also known as Eraserhead. She had already memorized the whole entire staff roster, along with the top three hundred heroes in Japan along with some less known local heroes just in case she ever ran into them if she was on the job.

It didn't take long however her military training to kick right back in at seeing someone who in her mind was a superior officer. Gently, but quickly, Violet put down both her parasol and briefcase on the floor before executing a pitch perfect salute.

"Sir! Student Violet Evergarden reporting for class!" She said calmly, but also firm, her eyes locked firmly on the man in a sleeping bag.

The man seemed marginally surprised that she noticed him, though he quickly schooled his expression as he looked at Violet with an unreadable expression.

"No need to salute me, Evergarden. Just sir, teacher, or Mr. Aizawa is fine. Please, take a seat wherever you like." The man said groggily, though it held a certain tone that indicated that he was more alert than he let on.

Violet just bowed her head in answer and quickly picked up her stuff from the ground. Thankfully she was allowed to keep these things with her, so it saved her some time from having to pick them up from her apartment. She still was setting up the branch office for the postal company, though soon she would be done with it and would finally be able to take customers.

Turning back around, she scanned the room again and made her way to the far left of the main back row, coincidently the only row with five seats. She at least knew now how many fellow students would be in here with her.

The black-haired pony-tailed looked at her strangely as she passed by, seemingly quite surprised at Violet's military-like introduction.

Violet sat down in her seat and an awkward silence fell over the room for a moment. Wanting to break the ice, Momo spoke up.

"It's nice to meet you, Miss Evergarden. My name's Momo Yaoyorozu. It's a pleasure to meet you." She spoke somewhat awkwardly, not being the most social person and not having many friends.

Violet just nodded her way, "Pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Yaoyorozu, but please, call me Violet. The Japanese custom of calling a person by their last name is still a confusing one for me."

Momo tilted her head at that, "You're not Japanese? But you speak it so perfectly! Like you've spoken it all your life. I didn't even hear an accent!" She exclaimed, surprised. Japanese wasn't an easy language to learn, so to hear someone who's not from Japan speak it so clearly surprised the girl.

Violet responded, "It's in part due to my quirk. One of the effects is being able to understand and speak languages better than most."

"That's so cool! If you don't mind me asking, where are you from, and how many languages do you speak?" Momo asked curiously.

Not seeing no reason not to, Violet told her, "I'm originally from Germany, and I fluently speak five dozen languages, most of which are European."

Momo's eyes widened at the sheer magnitude of languages that Violet spoke, but also from where she was from. She didn't really keep up with it, though she knew there was a war in Germany. Just as she was going to inquire about that, the door to the classroom opened up once more as more people started to pour in. Deciding she'll ask her later, Momo stayed quiet.

Violet watched with keen eyes as more and more people began to stream into the class, all of which she recognized. She didn't know most of their names, though because of her quirk she recognized their faces and bodies. It especially came in handy when she was being debriefed, with her being able to tell in perfect clarity about the positions of enemy fortifications, enemy soldiers, their quirks, bodies, how they died, how exactly she killed some of them as she recalled every second of watching the life drain from-

"Settle down." Violet looked up from where she was staring off into deep space as the entire room went quiet and stared at where the voice of Aizawa came from.

Violet just registered that the room was full now as she straightened herself in her seat, clearly knowing that authoritative tone of voice.

The green-haired boy, along with the brown-haired girl that stopped him from falling and the blue-haired boy that was reprimanding him from the exam, jumped back in surprise at hearing Aizawa's voice. Looking around, it seemed as if the rest of the class, bar Momo because of Violet calling him out, also seemed surprised. 'Did they not notice him?' She wondered. It seemed quite obvious to her that he was there.

"It took you all twenty seconds to quieten down, and that's unacceptable. Time is precious, especially when you are a hero." He reprimanded them all, giving a scrutinizing gaze to them.

He then reached for his back pocket, an action which caused Violet to unknowingly tense up. It vanished however when he retrieved a remote instead, and with a press of a button, the left side of the front wall opened up, revealing rows of suitcases.

"Get changed, and meet me outside. If you're not there in ten minutes, you're expelled!" He called out, and before anyone a word of protest, Violet was already up with her stuff in hand and at the main front with the cases. Quickly spying the case with her name, she snatched it up and bolted out the door, heading straight for the girl's locker room.

All in all, it took her five seconds to do all that, leaving everyone, sans Aizawa, stunned.

"Well, don't sit there and do nothing, move!" He yelled, and that finally got through to them all, as each of them hurriedly got up from their seats and retrieved their cases before rushing out of the room to their respective locker rooms.

'This is going to be a lot of work, I can tell.' Aizawa thought with a sigh as he left the room soon after, ready to train the next generation of heroes.

Aizawa looked over the slightly worried faces of his students with his same bored expression that he always had. At a first glance, they didn't look all too impressive to him, but then again, no fresh students do. So much wasted potential, yearning to be brought forth.

'Well, almost all wasted potential', Aizawa thought as his eyes glanced over to his biggest challenge as a teacher yet. Violet.

She stood at attention, legs spread a little apart with her hands behind her back. A perfect parade rest stance if there ever was one.

He paid special attention to her file while he was looking at his student roster, and just like Nezu said, it wasn't good.

He was confident that she'd seen more action than even him. Apparently, the unit she was assigned to got next to no leave whatsoever. They were either in a fight, or marching towards one most of the time, with Violet exclusively being in the Vanguard.

The amount of death she must have seen made Aizawa internally shudder. He hates to use the comparison, but he knew for a fact that she killed more people during her time of service than most villains, even the successful and more bloodthirsty ones had.

It made him sick to his stomach thinking about what had happened to her. She's just a kid, yet she's been through enough to make hardened heroes weak at the knees.

He had his work cut out for him, but he would be damned if he didn't try his best to help her.

"Um, Sensei, why are we out here exactly?" One of his students finally asked, causing him to snap out of his internal thoughts.

"Right, we're out here so I can gauge your quirks and what you can do with them." He lazily stated.

"But what about orientation!" The one with short brown hair exclaimed. Ochako Uraraka if he remembered correctly.

A few of the other students were also worried about it as he listened to them complain. It was time to spring something on them that they didn't know about UA.

"You can forget about it. One of the perks here at UA is that we teachers get to have a lot of automanty in how we run our classroom, meaning I can do as I please." He coldly informed them, and he could see a few dejected faces in the crowd upon hearing that.

"Time is precious, and I only have a limited time to shape you all up. Now, if that's all done, we can begin. Bakugo, step forward."

At his word, an ashen blonde kid who he knew was going to be a problem stepped forward, hands in his pockets with an RBF even worse than his.

"For those of you unaware, Bakugo here scored the most villain points in the exam." He revealed, and from the looks from the majority of the class, they were impressed. Bakugo himself wore a smirk on his face that just screamed arrogance as he basked in the adoration of his peers.

"He, however, didn't score the most points." Aizawa cackled internally as he saw Bakugo's smirk fall as a frown replaced it, all the wind sucked from his sails in a mere moment.

"Miss Evergarden, please step forward." Upon hearing her name being called, Violet stepped forward next to Bakugo who was shooting her an annoyed look.

"Evergarden here scored a total of one-hundred and forty points in total, breaking the school's previous record set by All Might." That got a lot of wide-eyed looks from all the students, along with a few gasps, all the while Bakugo's scowl just deepened.

Violet meanwhile just remained straight faced, not caring whatsoever at the mention that she actually out-scored the number one hero in Japan, if not the world.

"I'm going to have you two start us off as a demonstration. Bakugo, how far was your ball thrown in Middle School?"

"Sixty-seven meters. Why?" He asked.

Aizawa threw him a ball, "Try using your quirk."

At that, Bakugo's smirk came back as he stepped forward as Aizawa took a few steps back, just behind Violet.

He wound his arm back, sparks flying from the palm of his hands.

"DIE!" He shouted, and with a mighty boom, the ball went soaring off into the distance, though that wasn't what he was mainly focused on.

The students behind him of course flinched, as even he did. Being that close to an explosion does that. But what he was mainly focused on was Violet's reaction.

She done what he thought she would, but not what he hoped. She didn't flinch like the rest of them. Instead, he saw her stiffen up, just a bit, but it was noticeable. He also didn't miss the way her hands contracted almost into a grip before they went rigid before slowly relaxing themselves. He couldn't see her face from this angle, so he couldn't judge her facial reaction, but if he had to guess, it probably tightened up. His determination only grew stronger.

Looking down at the reader, he saw that the ball flew 705.2 meters exact. Really good, all things considered. Seemed his quirk was suited for this kind of test.

Turning around to face the rest of the class, he showed the rest of the class the score, and as expected, there were many people who exclaimed in surprise.

"See the difference? A score of 67 turned into 705.2. That's the power of your quirks that needs to be tested. Why Japan's education system won't allow that, I don't know, but I'm here to remedy that. Violet, your turn." He threw a ball at the girl who swiftly caught it.

Bakugo turned around and started walking back towards the group of students as Violet walked forward.

As the two passed each other, Bakugo, with the same cocky smirk, spoke, "Beat that." He said as he passed Violet, arrogance clear in his voice.

Violet, however, didn't respond. Still stoned faced as ever, earning her a scowl from Bakugo, Violet stepped into the box and took a pitched stance.

Winding up her arm, Violet prepared to throw the ball. Wanting to test something, Aizawa used his quirk on her for a moment.

Violet's hip twisted and her legs tensed up as her arm came around and let the ball loose with a mighty throw.

'It doesn't work.' Aizawa observed as the ball traveled far off into the distance. With just that, he was able to gather that she actually doesn't amp herself up to achieve her supernatural human abilities, otherwise her quirk wouldn't have worked. He thought so, but it was best to test out anyway.

'It's like, or is, a mutant quirk then.' He added as an afterthought.

Looking down at the reader, he was actually surprised at what he saw. Turning back around, he showed the class the score, and once again he got shocked gasps.

"953 meters!"

"That's insane!"

"Her quirk's so cool!" Were just some of the reactions.

Bakugo's eyes were wide with shock as he read the score before he turned them towards Violet, venom in his eyes as he stared the girl down, not at all pleased at being shown up. He tried convincing himself that he would beat her in the other tests, but something told him it wouldn't be that easy or simple.

"Wow, this is gonna be fun!"

It was as if the very air grew cold then as everyone noticed the shift in atmosphere, even Violet for all her lack of social cues. Immediately she went back into parade rest and faced Aizawa once more, head held perfectly straight as her eyes stared forward.

Aizawa only gained a predatory smirk. He was wondering when one of them was going to say something like that.

"Oh, fun you say? I'll show you fun. We'll turn it into a competition. Whoever comes in last place will be deemed as having no potential and will be expelled."

He got the reactions he was expecting. Screams of "What!?" and "No fair!" Rung out from the lot of them, but he didn't really care. Truth was, he was sort of lying about the whole expulsion thing, but if he truly believed they were a lost cause then he more than likely would expel them. He would just have to see.

"I don't care what you think about it. Remember, I get to run my class the way I want. I could even expel all of you right now if I want. Don't believe me? Go check and see why there isn't a Class 2A this year."

That shut them all up, realizing that he was serious about all this. Hard looks came over the majority of their faces, though mixed in were looks of fear as well. Glancing back, he saw that Violet's expression didn't change much at all, having that same, stoic expression as usual.

Turning back towards his class once more, he smiled that same dangerous smile, "Now, who's ready to have fun?"

Their groans of anguish was music to his ears.

50 meter dash

Violet lined up in the center line, taking a ready stance as Aizawa held a starting pistol pointed straight in the air.

To her right and left respectively were Tenya Ilda and Mina Ashido, both also in the ready position. Violet knew her work was cut out for her as she knew Ilda had a speed centered quirk, just like the rest of his family. She's beaten speedsters before in a foot race, though she knew she was about to be put to the test here.

"On your mark." Aizawa started and Violet tensed up, her full concentration on the here and now.

"Get set." Her hands tightened as she prepared for the sound of the shot.

"Go!" As soon as she heard the shot she took off like a bolt of lightning, Ilda keeping pace with her. Mina, while doing well herself, was lagging behind the two. It was all over in a matter of seconds as both she and Ilda crossed the finish line at practically the same time.

Mina crossed a few seconds after them, huffing from the exertion she had done. All of them turned around and looked at the displayed scores on the machine.

Left lane: 5.30 seconds

Center lane: 3.00 seconds

Right lane. 3.04 seconds

She has gotten faster, it seems.

"Woo, good job! I could have sworn he was going to beat us considering his quirk and all, but you just beat him!" Mina exclaimed as she walked over towards Violet, hand raised for a high five.

Violet stared at the pink girl confused for a moment, wondering why the girl had her hand raised. She saw some people do it before during her time in the military, mainly after a hard mission.

"Well, come on! Don't leave me hanging!" Mina said, waving her hand.

Robotically, she raised her hand up and pressed it against Mina's, holding it there for a little too long.

Mina just laughed however and lowered her hand, "We'll work on it, but congratulations on your win!" With that, the excited pink skinned girl turned around and headed for the rest of the students.

"Good race, Everegarden. I wasn't expecting to lose there to be honest." The voice of Ilda said from beside her as he walked up to her, a hand outstretched.

This jester she was more familiar with, so she didn't mess it up to bad as he reached out and grasped his hand and shook it.

"Thank you for the compliment. You were fast as well. Please, call me Violet. I'm still not used to Japanese customs." Not to mention she hasn't had the Evergarden name for that long now, and she preferred to be called by Violet.

"Oh, you're not from here? Where exactly are you from?" Tenya asked as they both started walking towards the group of students, another group of three already lined up.

Grip Strength

Violet stared at the device in her hands with a contemplative look on her face.

Raising her hand, she waited to be called on by Aizawa to ask her question, "Mr. Aizawa, am I still cleared to take this test considering my possible unfair advantage?" She was curious as to if she would be eliminated considering the state of her arms.

A few of the students looked at her in curiosity, wondering why she would ask that question while Aizawa, to the surprise of many of his students, gained a soft, almost sad look as he answered.

"Yes Miss Everegarden, it's fine." He said in a calm voice.

Violet just nodded her head in answer as she looked back down at the device and began squeezing hard. After a bit, it was finally registered.

400 kg of exerted strength.

Really good all things considered, but not the best of the class. Shoji, she knew, was able to get 540 kg while Mina was able to get even higher with something she made just for this test. Still, she would take third place.

Standing Long Jump

Violet took a running start, and with a mighty jump, she cleared the sandbox and then some. Already there were a few people who cleared the box with creative use of their quirks, including using explosions to get over and lasers to clear it as well.

Though she was curious about something. One kid, Midoriya, looked to have not used his quirk at all. In fact, she was confident about it.

Curious as to why he was ruining his future, Violet approached to ask him.

"Excuse me, Midoriya, but why aren't you using your quirk?" She asked as she walked up behind him.

Izuku nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden question, having not heard Violet approach. Turning around, his face reddened at the relatively close proximity of Violet, having not been used to speaking with people of the opposite gender, especially one he considered beautiful like Violet.

"Um, well, you see, I, uh, don't really have great control over it."

Violet tilted her head curiously at that, "You don't?"

"Um, no. It very recently manifested, and it's quite powerful you see! It's this whole thing where whenIuseitIsortabreakallmybonesandit'sverypainfulandstuff-, and I'm rambling." He suddenly stopped when he realized he was talking too fast.

Despite the speed at which he was talking, Violet heard him loud and clear. She's dealt with worse before. And being honest with herself, she very much doubted Izuku's story. In rare cases there have been people who had a quirk that never knew about it, but it didn't seem that case in Izuku. It was written all over his face, so much so that even Violet could tell he wasn't telling the whole truth. Still, she wouldn't pry for that information like she used to. Her time as a Doll has taught her that much.

Instead, she just nodded her head in affirmation, "Understood. If you would like any help in honing your quirk, I wouldn't mind helping." She offered, causing Izuku's face to redden even more to Violet's confusion.

The poor boy just stammered, trying to come up with something to say. But before he could, Aizawa already called for them to the next area, causing Violet to leave Izuku behind, much to his dismay.

"Got a crush, huh?" Kirishima spoke out from beside Izuku suddenly, elbowing him a bit.

The whole way to the next portion of the test, Izuku desperately tried to defend his flustered state, which only caused him more teasing, to his horror.

Up ahead, to no one's notice, Aizawa let out a small smile, glad to see Violet already making some progress in making friends.

Ball Throw

"Alright, you've seen this before so I don't have to explain it again. Uraraka, you're up." Aizawa tiredly stated, throwing the ball to the brown-haired girl.

Catching it, she approached the box where she was supposed to throw it and used her quirk on the ball. Reeling back, she threw the ball, watching as it went off into the distance… and didn't stop doing so.

Eventually, the device beeped in Aizawa's hands. Looking down, he was both surprised and at the same time not as well by the score. Turning it around, there were many exclamations at seeing the score which read "Infinity", causing many of the students to turn towards Ochako and give her their praise, much to her embarrassment.

"Alright, enough of that. Midoriya, your turn." Aizawa announced and threw the ball towards the verdant-haired kid, who looked extremely pale and stressed right now.

He approached the box on shaky legs, having no idea what he was going to do about this test. There weren't many left, but at the same time there were still enough to where if he did use his quirk here, he would be at a severe disadvantage, or worse, he wouldn't be able to go on at all.

'It doesn't matter. I'm already so far behind that I have to use it here.' He thought grimly, the ball in his hands all of a sudden feeling a whole lot heavier.

'I have to do this! No matter what the circumstances!' He inwardly encouraged himself, preparing for the absolute agony that was to come.

He called on One For All into his arms, already feeling his muscles start to rip themselves apart, causing him to wince.

'Here goes nothing!' He thought, and with a mighty heave… nothing happened.

The ball sailed harmlessly in the air, impacting the dirt a few dozen meters away, with his arm completely not broken.

He looked at it in shock for a moment before turning his head towards his teacher, and what he saw made him freeze up.

He finally connected who he was.

"Your Eraserhead, an underground hero!" He said in shock, most of the other students raising eyebrows at the namedrop as well.

"Good deduction, though we have a problem." Aizawa started, his tone deadly serious. Everyone tensed up as they listened to him.

"Your quirk is powerful, no doubt about that, but you can't handle it." He said coldly, causing Izuku to flinch back.

"I saw the entrance exam, and I must say, I wasn't impressed with what I saw." Izuku just held his head down as Aizawa continued to lecture him, shame filling his body.

"You cannot be a hero by just using one move and then being out of the fight. That can, and will, get you or your fellow heroes either seriously hurt or even killed." He continued, tone as dry as the desert. Izuku himself could barely contain the tears from falling from his eyes.

"If that's all you got, just one big hit and you're done, then you don't deserve to be here." He rolled the ball on the ground, deciding to spare the kid some embarrassment from seeing his classmates seeing him cry.

"Just throw the ball and be done with it." With that, he turned his attention back to his device.

With both shaky knees and breath, Izuku picked up the ball rolled to him and looked at it, all the time he spent training with All Might flashing through his mind.

Taking a deep breath, he got into position and prepared to throw the ball once more.

Springing his legs forward while twisting his hips, he was in the throwing motion, ready for the world of pain that was to come.

With a mighty gust of wind and a loud boom, the ball took of soaring into the air, the cries of Izuku becoming apparent.

"Mr. Aizawa!" He called out, causing the teacher to look up at him, and what he saw really surprised him, before a smirk came over his face.

Izuku's finger was broken, no doubt about it, but everything else was fine.

"I can still go!" He got out through choked filled sobs, the pain in his finger being absolutely horrible.

'This kid!' Aizawa thought. He would give it to him, the kid has guts, and sometimes that could be enough.

"DEKU!" The moment was ruined however as a spiky-haired blonde missile came soaring in, an explosion ready in his hand to absolutely destroy Izuku.

Before he even got halfway threw his path though, scarf was thrown around him and he felt his quirk turn off. Turning his head towards Aizawa, Bakugou felt fear course through him at the sight of his teacher.

Aizawa was not impressed with the blonde's hot temper, and he sure as hell was mad that he was about to attack a fellow student in rage-filled jealousy.

"Stand. Down. Now." His tone was arctic ice as he stared Bakugou down. He had half a mind to expel him right here and now, but the only reason he hasn't is because of the power and potential of his quirk. Though, if he attempts something like this once more, he wouldn't be so lenient.

Bakugou just scowled, but did stop fighting against the scarf holding him. Letting him go, Bakugou stormed back to the gathering of students, pure-hot rage clear in his eyes.

While all that was going on, Violet was standing there, observing. She wasn't impressed at all with Bakugou and his attempted assault of a fellow student. She was about to jump in herself before Aizawa beat her to it, saving her some trouble.

Though her mind was on something else entirely. Izuku and his quirk. More specifically, how he could possibly control it.

Her quirk gives her many things, including enhanced strength. Nothing compared to Midoriya's, she knew, but still some powerful stuff there.

She's had to hold back that strength before whenever she was sparring with someone, and she noticed right away when Izuku showcased his quirk that he doesn't know how to hold back that power, or he hasn't thought of it yet.

She partially glanced up to read his score which read 705.3 meters, just over Bakugou's score, much to his seething anger.

Putting that to the back of her mind, she decided she would tell him what she noticed when this is all said and done. She followed along with the rest of the students as Aizawa led them to the next part of the exam.

To say Violet dominated the final three parts of the test was an understatement. For the distance run, she and Momo tied, blowing every other student out of the water. The raven-haired girl used a scooter she made to breeze through the competition while Violet kept pace with her the whole way. Momo tried to make small talk with her, though it was quite difficult given the circumstances. Still, they had a nice conversation.

Aizawa eventually called it a draw when he realized he was going to be here all day otherwise and led them to the next exam.

The seated toe-touch was absolutely no problem for Violet, with her coming first in that part as well by a large margin, with Mina, surprisingly, the only one even close to her score.

The last test was situps, and to say she blew everyone out of the water was a vast understatement. The amount of sit ups that she has done throughout her years of service came in real handy then as she dominated them all. The only reason she stopped was because Aizawa eventually told her to, and by then she had already broken the school's record in that particular category.

Finally, it was the moment they've all been waiting for as Aizawa stood in front of a large TV, his eyes noticeably more tired.

"I could tell you where you scored individually, but I'm too tired for that. Find your name on the screen." He said as he lazily pressed a button on the remote, causing the TV to turn on and show the results.

To no one's surprise, Violet was number one, followed by Momo and Todoroki, coincidentally the two recommendation students.

Most students were sighing in relief at seeing that they were not in last place, ecstatic at knowing they were not going home.

All except one.

Izuku's head was held down low, his body trembling as he realized just what place he got. Last. He was going home.

Violet saw all this, his trembling, his falling tears, his choked sobs. It looked like he was about to collapse in on himself, and for some reason, it tugged at Violet's heart. She didn't know why, but she didn't like to see someone like that, especially someone who tried his best like Midoriya.

She raised her hand and waited to be called on.

Aizawa was about to reveal that he, in fact, wasn't going to send anyone home. Partially because he changed his mind and also because he said that they would all give a hundred and ten percent effort in the test. Before he did that though, he noticed that Violet had her hand raised.

"Yes, Evergarden?" He asked, curious as to what she wanted.

"Sir, I would like to switch my rankings with Izuku Midoriya."

You could hear a pen drop at the sudden silence that ensued after her statement, with all the class, especially Midoriya, looking at her in bewilderment.

"Oh, and may I ask why you would do that?" He could just tell her then that he actually wasn't going to expel anybody, but he was genuinely curious as to why she would do something like that.

"Midoriya is the most determined to be here, and despite him not being able to control his quirk well, it is undeniably powerful and has amazing potential."

"So does yours." Aizawa countered back.

Violet nodded her head in understanding, "Yes, but I could always join another hero academy." She countered.

"Very unlikely, as it would show on your transcripts." He lied as naturally as he breathed. Sure, he was a hardass, but he wasn't so much a bastard as to ruin a kid's future because he didn't think they had any potential. He and Nezu have ensured that any kids that he has expelled, unless they deserve it, that it doesn't show up on their record.

Still, Violet doesn't know that. At least, he thinks she doesn't.

Violet, however, did know that he was lying about that. She already knew before even coming to UA that Aizawa had a penchant for expelling kids, so she did some research. And from that, she was able to gather that any kids that he does expel don't actually have it counted against them.

She did acknowledge however that he could easily change his mind on that and actually have it show up on her record and ruin any chance that she may have of getting into a hero school.

Thankfully, she had a backup plan, one of which she is coming to like more and more every day.

"Then I would just go back to Germany and continue my work there." She shot back, surprising a majority of the class at learning that she was from a different country, especially Germany.

Aizawa admitted that she got him there. Really, it might be her best option to go back to being a Doll full time than it would to be going back to school, especially a hero one like UA which could put her in dangerous situations that may trigger some memories that were not on the good side.

Still, his pride as a teacher wouldn't allow something like that. He very much believed that every child had the right to an education, especially for someone like Violet who's had to fight for virtually every day of her life. Plus, there was another thing that was irking him. While Europe may be at peace now, it was still somewhat hot after the war between France and Germany, and already tensions were rising once more. The international community was trying to keep things calm, and while it was unlikely that another war may break out, it was still a possibility.

If he were to send Violet on her way packing to Germany, and another war and draft was instituted, then he wouldn't be able to live with himself at just the sheer possibility that Violet could be redrafted.

He continued just to stare Violet down with a serious glare, said girl herself showing no outward signs of being affected by the same glare that has cowed many criminals. The tension was rising every second as the students waited for the verdict from their teacher with bated breath.

Finally, the silence was broken from Aizawa, "You want to know something?" He asked, and Violet just curtly nodded.

"I lied."

"Huh?" Some students got out to the sudden declaration, the growing tension that was there having suddenly been snuffed out.

"I said I lied. I only threatened expulsion just to make sure each and every one of you gave a hundred and ten percent effort. Both of you don't have to worry. Neither of you ain't going home." He said, a shit eating grin spreading across his face.

Multiple sighs of relief were heard when he said that, with Izuku himself falling to his knees while Violet just untensed herself.

"Alright, that's enough of all that. The day's basically over, so all of you pack your stuff and go home." He tiredly said as he began walking away, pleased with the day.

"Hey, Violet, wait up!" The voice of Mina Ashido cut through the evening air, causing Violet to turn around at the front gates of UA.

Mina was flanked by a decent number of people, including Kaminari, Kirishima, Jirou, Hagakure, and Momo.

"Where are you headed off to?" She asked, ideally observing the parasol and briefcase she had on hand.

Not seeing a reason not to, Violet answered, "I am heading towards work."

"Work? Like the one you said you had back in Germany?" Momo asked.

Violet nodded her head yes, "Correct. Though it would be more accurate to say that I'm setting up the place first." She still had a decent amount of stuff to move around before she could officially set up shop and open the branch office, but she should be done soon.

"Need some help? I was going to head down to the mall with them, but I don't mind helping out." Kirishima said.

"Doesn't sound bad to me. I wouldn't mind helping out." Kaminari concurred with him, followed swiftly by the rest of the group of students. They could always hit the mall another time.

VIolet was about to refuse them, but she stopped herself before she could. Lieutenant-Colonel Hodgins had tasked her with making some friends while she was at UA, and this seemed like a good opportunity for it. Plus, while she didn't really understand it, she has been wanting some friends to hang out with considering all her other friends are back at the Postal Company back in Germany.

Violet just nodded her head in thanks, "If you wouldn't mind, then I'll take the help. I have money that the Postal company gave me for times like these."

"Postal company? Are you part of the mail company?" Jirou asked curiously, with the others also being curious.

"No, it is a private corporation that I work for, not federal. Though, we do deliver mail." She clarified.

"What exactly is your job then?" Hagakure asked.

"I am an Auto Memory Doll."

"Wait, you're a Doll!? That's so cool!" Mina suddenly shouted, surprising Violet, along with the two boys of the group. All the other girls more or less had the same reaction as Mina at learning that Violet was a Doll.

"Oh my gosh, you have to tell us some of the letters you wrote!" Hagakure exclaimed as she and the rest of the girls began asking Violet tons of questions about her life as an Auto Memory Doll, while Kirishima and Kaminari just shrugged their shoulders and went along with it. They're sure they'll learn what a 'Doll' is just by listening to the girls gossip along the way.

Meanwhile, in his office, Nezu sat in his chair with a smile on his face as he stared at the scene through one of the camera's of UA. It seemed that Violet was already making great progress in making friends, something of which filled his heart with joy.

He knew it wasn't going to be an easy journey for Violet, not by a long shot, but with the support structure that she was sure to build here at UA, he knew she would come out stronger for it.

That, he promised and would ensure.

Well, that took a while, didn't it? Basically 11 whole months for the next chapter. Hopefully I didn't keep you guys waiting!

Decent amount happened this chapter, mainly with Violet getting introduced to the class and stuff like that. And yes, Violet is pretty overpowered, I know, but that's kind of intentional right now. It is honestly kind of expected with what she's been through, and the show itself showed Violet as a very good soldier in battle, and with the introduction of quirks, she only got better. Especially when most quirks really aren't that powerful to begin with.

Let me know what you thought of the chapter and if you have any suggestions or recommendations. I've only seen the first four seasons of MHA, and it's been a while since I seen it, along with Violet Evergarden. Not the second movie though, I've watched like fifty reaction videos of it, lol.

But, that's all I got for you now. So, until next time, and have an amazing day!
