A year had passed since Sakata Gintoki and his idiot fellows defeated Utsuro and Tendoushuu and saved Edo, now called Tokyo. As the Tendoushuu were defeated, the nation of the samurai was revived and was freed from Amanto control. Tokugawa Soyo, the head of the new government, made new laws and policies to make humans and Amantos friends and put an end to all sorts of conflicts between the two species.
As Utsuro and Tendoushuu were gone, peace was once again brought to the nation, and it seemed like there were no obstacles left for the samurais. However, a new threat, probably even worse than anything they've faced before, was about to emerge. They were demons.
"Breaking news!!" Ketsuno Ana presented a horrific news. "Yesterday night, three corpses, half - eaten, were found in women's toilet of Oedo Hotel!! The CCTV captured the moment a demon killed three women and gobbled up their bodies!! This is similar to what happened in Kabuki District 3 days ago!!"
"Demons, again..." Shinpachi trembled. "Getting rid of Utsuro and Tendoushuu feels like yesterday, and now demons?"
"Don't believe in them. They are obviously fake news spread by the new government for political purposes." Said Gintoki, reading Jump.
"Hey, Soyo - chan isn't someone who would do that!!" Kagura snapped.
"I mean, this is a world where aliens do exist. It isn't weird to think that demons do exist, too..." Said Shinpachi.
"Hey, are you afraid?" Kagura teased. "Don't you have balls, Fodderpachi?"
"Don't believe in demons, Kagura. They're obviously fake news." Gintoki repeated. Then he started to unknowingly tremble.
"Gin - chan, it seems like you're afraid, too." Kagura said, digging her nose. "Pathetic. This fanfic is going to be about us fighting against demons, you know? What can we possibly do when two of the trio have no balls?"
"Shut up!! You don't have balls too, Kagura!!" Gintoki shouted.
"After all, we are the ones who defeated the evil overlord Utsuro. As if demons would be match for us!!" Kagura boasted.
Meanwhile, Soyo and her supporter Nobume were discussing about demons. They wanted to know the origin of the demons so that they can cut out the origin thus prevent more demons from appearing. They made several theories about it.
"They might be Altana mutants just like Utsuro." Said Soyo. "I've heard reports that the demons were able to regenerate their bodies just like the Altana mutants."
"I don't think so." Said Nobume. "Altana mutants are only created when something is wrong with Earth's Altana. Our government already created the Altana Investigation Team in order to prevent any more tragedies from occuring because of Altana, right? Yet, we did not receive any reports from them."
"Then they might be victims of chemical accident." Soyo guessed.
"That is also unlikely." Said Nobume. "Each demon of the 7 cases we heard so far were all different individuals. It needs to be a major chemical accident to mutate 7 people, yet we haven't got any reports about such accident. My theory is that the demons are a new type of Amantos who just discovered Earth."
"Maybe." Soyo partially agreed. "We need further investigations about demons."
That night, Shinpachi walked his way back home after buying ingredients for cooking. The streets of Kabuki District, the district famous for being flashy and boisterous at night, was dark and dead calm. This was because the people were too afraid to go outside due to demons.
"(To think that Kabuki District became this silent... The demons indeed are a serious problem.)" Shinpachi thought.
Shinpachi himself was afraid, too. He was already wary enough to bring his sword with him so that he can protect himself if a demon attacks him. His heart raced every step he made forward and he sweated heavily. In his imagination, he was already killed by demons a dozen times.
"(No! No! No! Stop thinking about grim stuff!! Think positively, Shinpachi!!)" Shinpachi convinced himself.
Suddenly, Shinpachi sensed that someone was near him. His heartbeat went faster as the figure emerged from the darkness. Shinpachi held his breath and stood still. Thank God, it was Kagura.
"Kagura - chan!! What in the world are you doing here?!" Shinpachi shouted. "You almost gave me a heart attack!!"
"Just here to say hi to demons." Said Kagura.
"Are you crazy?! Don't you know that most of the demon attack victims are females?!" Shinpachi scolded.
"No problem. If a demon attacks, I can just beat 'em up." Kagura boasted. Just then, an another figure emerged out of the darkness and right behind Kagura. It was a real demon this time.
"Kagura - chan!!! Behind you!!!" Shinpachi yelled.
"Hwotchaaaaaaaaa!!!" Kagura dodged the demon's surprise attack and kicked him in the gut. The demon puked out blood and fell to his knees.
"See? Demons are no match for me." Kagura smiled.
However, 10 seconds later, the demon's injury was perfectly healed. The demon stood up, staring at Shinpachi and Kagura while drooling. The demon growled in fury and hunger.
"You dare kick me?!! Unforgivable!!! I will tear out your liver and eat it in front of your eyes, bitch!!!" The demon screeched.
"Try it." Kagura grinned.
The demon charged towards Kagura and tried to slash her multiple times with his sharp claws. Kagura easily dodged all of the attacks and jumped to his back, and twisted his neck 180 degrees. Then she threw the demon 15 meters away, sending him crashing onto a nearby building. Kagura was really confident that she finished off the demon this time.
Nevertheless, the demon recovered soon and rose from the ashes. He twisted his neck back to normal and growled. Then he dashed towards Kagura at full speed.
"Hwotchaaaaaa!!!" This time, Kagura kicked the demon so hard that his head got sent flying like a soccer ball. The headless body of the demon dropped dead. However, 10 seconds later, the demon grew back his head.
"You dare chop my head off?!! Unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable!!!" The demon roared.
"Impossible!! Is that demon immortal?!!" Shinpachi was astonished, and so was Kagura.
"The opponent might be immortal, but I ain't out of choices!!" Kagura lifted up a car, and smashed the demon downwards with it. The demon was crushed flat beneath the vehicle. Surprisingly, even after getting his body crushed flat, he was still alive.
"Kagura - chan, let's keep an eye on this demon until he dies." Shinpachi suggested. "We need to confirm whether demons are immortal or not."
Hours passed by and the moon went down. As the sun rose up, the sunshine reached the demon's body. When it did, the demon's body started to crumble, then turned to dust. The demon was finally dead.
"So the weakness of the demons is sunlight..." Kagura remarked.
The next day, Shinpachi and Kagura shared their experience to Gintoki. Gintoki was reluctant to believe it. He did not know that soon in the future, he would become one of the heroes who defeated the demon king Kibutsuji Muzan.
