Where It Began

Chapter Text

John, Gil and Missouri were looking through all of Missouri’s lore books trying to find something to tell them what demon attack and possessed Erica along with what demon killed Mary. They were looking through lore books for hours and hours in utter silence as they all knew how important it was to find out what they were. Erica life depended on them finding out so, failure wasn’t an option.
It wasn’t long till in Missouri’s very last book where John finally found something of use. It was the answer to a question he had been asking ever since Mary died. What killed her. A Price Of Hell. “I’ve got something.” John said with his eyes glued to the book.
“What is it?” Missouri asked.
John read out the passage from the book. “A demon that bears the bright yellow eyes are the first generation of demons crated by Lucifer after Lilith herself. Ramiel, Asmodeus, Azazel and Dagon were the general of his demonic armies. They were entitled The Princes Of Hell.” John looked up from the book and looked at Missouri and Gil with terror spread across his face.
Gil ran his hand down his face as he knew how bad this was. This demon they were hunting was much older that the Daeva and much more powerful than any demon they have ever faced before. But, they were still left with questions. Which one killed Mary and who are The Protectors of The Princes? “Does it say anything about The Protectors Of The Princes?” Gil asked.
John looked back down at the book and ready the next passage. “The Princes are protected. Protected by a group of demons that are only awoken when The Princes eyes have been witness ad live to tell the tale. It doesn’t say much more apart from how these demons will stop at nothing to kill the witness of The Princes.”
“So, they are connected.” Gil said.
John shot to his feet and said with confusion. 2Yeha but I don’t understand how we could have awakened one of them when what we was seeing wasn’t even real. It was just a memory.”
Missouri said. “I don’t think that matter if it was a memory. We were real. We wasn’t part of the memory and when our physical presence was felt it awoke The Protector.”
John sighed. “Son of a bitch. This is my fault.” He said.
Gil shock his head and said. “Come on John don’t start doing that we all knew the risk coming into this.”
“Yeah you did but, I’m the one who let you both come like an idiot. I knew how dangerous this was going to be but, I didn’t want to do this alone because I was scared about what I was going to find out. I shouldn’t have let either of you get involved in this. I should have kept you out of this. You both would have been safe.” John said.
“John it’s okay for you to feel like that you are aloud too but, it doesn’t mean you can start blaming yourself for everything that’s happened to us. We’re here because of something greater. Something you haven’t realised yet.” Gil said.
This rattled John as he didn’t know what he was going on about. “What exactly is that?” John asked.
“You really don’t know do you? We’ve been thought a lot together John. I would die for you in a heartbeat. That make’s us family John and Erica is my family so, that makes her yours as well. That’s why we’re here. Family is always there when you need them no matter what. So, stop blaming yourself because we’re going to figure this out together.” Gil said.
John answered. “Okay Gil. Where do we start?”
“We need to find more out about these Protectors and how we can kill one.” Gil said.
“We’re gonna need more books.” Missouri said sarcastically as she got to her feet. They need more lore books. Lore books that spoke about who The Protectors Of The Princes are. This wouldn’t be easy but then again nothing in a hunters life was every easy.
Henshaw wasn’t waiting long before Ella came bursting through the door with the equipment Henshaw had asked for. She walked over and placed it down on the table. It was a card reader like every shop had. Henshaw looked at it very underwhelmed with what he was seeing. He was expecting something a bit more exciting than a normal card reader. “Is this it?” Henshaw said in shock.
“What do you mean is this is?” Ella said.
“I’m sorry I was just expecting something a bit more mission impossible than this.” Henshaw said.
“Yeah well unfortunately we’re not spy’s and we don’t have a big enough fund for cool gadgets so, this will have to do for now.” Ella said.
“How does it work?” Henshaw asked.
“No different to a normal card reader but this one send us a signal if a fake car is use on it. Very simple but very effective.” Ella said. Henshaw got to his feet, picked up the reader and they both walked behind the front desk. Ella unplugged the old card reader.
“What the hell are you two doing?” The Owner said as he came rushing out of his office.
“It doesn’t matter what we are doing sir. What matters here is that this car reader isn’t changed until we come back and remove it.” Henshaw said.
The Owner answered back. “You think this is going to help you catch killer. I see that my tax money is being put to good use.”
Henshaw didn’t answered his question but, before he stepped out the door he turned back and said. “And if I find out that you have interfered with this investigation in any way. I ‘ll be coming back here to lock you away for aiding and abetting and for this case that will give you life in prison.” Henshaw gave The Owner a cocky smile before he finally left. Once they were outside Henshaw said. “As soon as that thing goes off you let me know immediately.”
Ella answered. “Of course I’ll personal keep an eye on it myself. We’ll catch those sick barstards boss don’t you worry.”
Henshaw smiled and said. “I know we will.” He got inside his car and left the motel. There was nothing more he could do now but go home for the night and wait for however long it to for Dean to come looking for his Dad but when he does Henshaw would be ready to take him down.
