Chapter Text
This couldn’t be happening.
“W HAT DO YOU MEAN ‘YOU DON’T KNOW’ LUFTI , YOU SAID YOU’D KEEP AN EYE ON HIM! ” Felix wasn’t screaming, but he sure came close to it. His grip on her shoulders was tight, uncomfortably so. Lufti made no move to shake him off.
“Ja, but playing hide and tag kind of includes looking away Felix, you don’t have to overreact.”
Had he been in a different state of mind the young, decidedly not yet panicking man would have questioned her about the contents of that game, since he had never heard of it. As it was, he wasn’t in a different state of mind and concerningly short of breath.
Milo was missing.
Toa intervened, carefully dislodging his best friend’s hands from Lufti's shoulders. “ Lufti, maybe right now isn’t the right time. ” Shaking hands were gripping onto Toas loose shirt now. “ Do you perhaps know where you last saw him; that would be a good start ?”

The rushing of blood through his ears made it impossible for Felix to make out the following conversation. He’d promised himself he wouldn’t lose Milo. He’d also promised himself he wouldn’t overreact at any small issue , the increasing pressure on his lungs was a clear indicator of how well that was going. Chest pain, shaking, blurry vision, Felix knew what his panic attacks felt like; Goddess knows he’s had enough of them by now.
But hey, at least recognizing the issue is already halfway to solving the problem. At least that’s what Toa always said and he was better at emotional stuff than him.
Felix didn’t notice he was tilting forward until his head hit something, something solid with a steady heartbeat. His own heart felt comically fast in comparison to Toas.
“F elix? ” -no answer came from the smaller man except for a tired exhale.
“Felix, about Milo-“–that gained a reaction as Felix almost shot upwards, looking around wildly. Before he could start working himself up again Toa quickly interjected. “It’s alright Felix; the others are looking for him. Milo wouldn’t leave the park without telling us.” Felix paused. “Yeah, I guess you’re right, big guy.” A short pause “Thanks for sticking with me.”

Not long after Caprice and Lufti returned, the smaller Ackermann walking in their middle. Milo animatedly talked about how he had been bird-watching with a young girl he had met while searching for Lufti. As the young boy spoke about meeting up with ‘ Leski ’ again soon Felix couldn’t bring himself to lecture his brother about running off like that. At least not until he had gotten a bit of rest.
