Summary:

Random assortment of brief Kuroo imagines and short one-shots I come up with, taking requests.

Chapter 1: CEO Overtime

Chapter Text

The suited man took long, commanding strides across the room, resigning himself to his seat with a heavy sigh. He loosened his tie and pulled it free with one swift motion. A snap, resounding in the air to call for a drink.

It was a grueling day of work, and by his luck, it wasn’t yet over. As was the gift of overtime.

His assistant poured him neat scotch whisky, the mellifluous trickling of the beverage likened to crashing waves as he scanned over the reported operational metrics and financial statements with a scrutinizing eye. Tetsurō was meticulous with every single detail pertaining to his company, with each data point being run over with a fine tooth comb. He was a sedulous man and expected each employee to be the same way.

A single mistake was unforgivable.

So when he caught one, Tetsurō was bewildered.

He took hold of the textured glass and sipped the intoxicant, unnaturally soothed by the burn in his throat before sitting it back down with a clink to the desk. Extending a finger towards his assistant just as they were leaving and curling it twice, accompanied by a sharp whistle.

“Who submitted this?”

Upon their arrival, the man was already standing behind his desk, tossing out the stack of inutile papers that scattered across the room like a petal dance. “Do you mean to make a mockery of this company and everything I’ve worked for?” He chuckled, a taunting edge to his voice. Could his attitude be described as vitriolic? Perhaps. Tetsurō preferred the word ‘assertive’.

Before they could even get a word in edgewise, he snapped and pointed to the mess made on the floor. “Pick it up. Since you can’t do the job I’m paying you for, maybe this falls in the range of your capabilities.” It was an amusing display, watching them begrudgingly fetch the papers they screwed up in the first place with a scowl.

“Embezzlement? Really?”

Tetsurō grabbed his drink and approached his subordinate with stifled laughter on his lips. He had half a mind to— He exhaled a sigh of half frustration and pure exhaustion, taking this time to knock back the rest of the whiskey and stepping on the paper they reached to retrieve. It startled them, and the second their eyes rose to meet his gaze, Tetsurō smiled:

“This won’t go unpunished.”

Chapter 2: Cozy Downpour

Chapter Text

Spring, a beautiful season of blooming flowers, new beginnings, and perfect weather. Perfect, when it wants to be, given the onslaught of pouring rain after a day of grueling lectures.

Tetsurō stood at the edge of the campus steps deep in thought, so close to breaking that shield of dryness behind the wall of precipitation redirected by the overhang roof. He could nearly feel the tiny droplets bounce back on his face, and the emollience etched a smile onto his lips. The expression on his face was one of elation, but turned into gaiety when he saw you.

“You sure do like to take your time,” he teased with a laugh, balancing the long black umbrella fixated in his hand.

He knew you’d forget yours, but the mistake was considered venial in his eyes. He’d grown accustomed to your idiosyncrasies, and was even fond of them. “Let’s go,” he mused, “I’ll walk you home before you lose track of any more time.”

Tetsurō conversed on and on, detailing even the most mundane aspects of his day. It was a rather gloomy one with the constant inclement weather, but he carried on with his usual joviality, perhaps despite it. The raillery between you persisted, overshadowing the fact that the miry path you tread was in circles. Once the raven-haired male took note of this, he stopped, questioning the directions he’d been given. Though he soon smiled, “Yeah I don’t want to go home either just yet.”

He held tight to the umbrella and ambulated through a nearby park, taking advantage of the extra time to get to know you more. Tetsurō not only listened, but seemed genuinely interested while still inserting his well-timed quips and jests. His sonorous laugh was the perfect pitch amongst the euphonious pattering of rain dancing on top of the nylon canopy, which he used to cover you more than himself, leaving his shoulder drenched. It made you feel bad, so even though the windchill was getting to you, you pretended as if it didn’t bother you and continued walking.

The shivering however didn’t go unnoticed, and he halted to another stop before handing you the umbrella to hold and taking off his jacket, leaning down to drape it over your shoulders.

“Do you like the rain?” He grinned, peering into your eyes as if he was reading the depths of your soul. The puzzled look on your face amused him, and urged him to elaborate. “You always forget an umbrella, and whenever it rains you find an excuse to stay out for as long as you can, even if it makes you cold. You’re like an H2O fiend.”

Another laugh bellowed from his chest as he watched your reaction, and it was hard for him to eventually quiet himself. “Well, I know something I like.”

Tetsurō held a firm grip on the collar of his jacket and reeled you closer, his eyes closing as you osculated in the heavy downpour.

Rain is the perfect weather.

Chapter 3: Date Night

Chapter Text

This evening was date night. Or at least… it was supposed to be.

Tetsurō carefully organized the reservation in advance, ensuring that everything would run smoothly. But nature had other plans.

It wasn’t until he and his beloved were already on their way out the door that he noticed a message from the restaurant notifying him that they were going to be closed due to a torrential storm. Effectively canceling all reservations.

He sucked his teeth in annoyance whilst removing his shoes and relaying the shift in plans to his date. Naturally, he was met with disappointment, but the man pulled his lover in by the waist and ghosted his lips over their neck. A low, pacifying hum left his throat before he kissed the delicate skin.

“How about… I run you a bath; while you relax, I cook? Something simple, have a little wine… yeah?”

Fortunately, it was enough to placate them for the moment. So he focused his efforts on making the bath as soothing as possible before getting to work in the kitchen. The rhythmic pattering of the heavy droplets hitting against the reinforced glass windows had a mellifluous effect combined with his soft R&B.

The decision to make something simple seemed to be foreordination because the penthouse lights flickered before abruptly dying. Leaving the rest of the house in darkness. He supposed that the restaurant had been right to close. No matter; who doesn’t like a candlelit dinner?

Tetsurō chuckled once he saw his beloved emerge from the bathroom, puzzled by the lack of illumination. He merely smiled and poured wine into their glasses, “who wants to eat in the light anyway?”

He stood to pull out their chair before bringing them closer to the table and taking his place at their side.

“What would you like to try first mademoiselle? Our fine 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, the au gratin potatoes and seared asparagus with filet beef, or your very own fiancé?” A grin painted his face flirtatiously.

“Take your time, they’re all good choices.”

Chapter 4: Kenma's Birthday

Chapter Text

Every year on his birthday, Kenma would do the same thing without fail— play video games until the sun was up.

The reason was quite simple, he always forgot. His own birthday.

Earlier in the year, Tetsurō had finally managed to confess to Kenma and start a relationship, so this time around, he was determined to do something special for them. He knew that the reticent blonde would stay up to an ungodly hour, so the night before, he miraculously convinced them to turn in early, and the next morning, he was up bright and early so they could get the day started.

The man let himself in with the spare key and placed the spiced apple caramel crunch cake in the refrigerator. Their itinerary was sedulously planned down to the last detail bearing in mind his boyfriend’s interests, so he knew it’d be an exciting outing.

“Rise and shine sleeping beauty!” Tetsurō beamed, opening up the curtains after entering the room and setting the breakfast tray on the bedside table. “Time to kick off your birthday! We’ve got a long day ahead of us so put a move on it.”

Tetsurō’s gaiety wasn’t entirely well-received by Kenma, but he was more than used to it by now, so he reluctantly rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. It didn’t take him long to eat, seeing as he merely picked at the plate and then got dressed.

The first stop was a shopping mall, where he held tightly to Kenma’s hand and beelined to the game store.

They spent a considerable amount of time simply looking at the future release display cases and carefully talking over each and every purchase made. Tetsurō didn’t know much about what his partner muttered regarding each DLC or disk, but he was happy to buy it all once the decision was finalized.

Lunch was a simple burger paired with fries and a milkshake before they went to an arcade. Kenma wasn’t sold on the idea at first, but the longer they stayed, he didn’t pay attention to the crowd so much and focused instead on winning as much as he could.

The claw machines proved to be a formidable match, however, and it left the blonde grimacing at the machine by the time he finally gave up. Tetsurō couldn’t stop laughing the whole way through, but once Kenma stepped away, he took a crack at it.

He won a large Kirby plush on the first try.

Kenma was a little miffed on the car ride home, but he still buried his face into the stuffed plush as he sulked.

Going back to the blonde’s apartment was predictably their favorite part of the day, but Tetsurō simply smiled and got them changed into matching pajamas while he ordered pizza. The pair enjoyed a slice of cake while they waited, and he was ecstatic to see that Kenma savored it.

A wonderful day was brought to a magical close with pizza and video games. They played together, which mostly consisted of Kenma running through his favorite games with ease sitting on Tetsurō’s lap while the raven-haired male watched and cheered him on. His arms wrapped around the smaller man and caged him in securely, his lips finding their place on the back of Kenma’s neck with teasing adoration.

“Happy birthday Kenma-kun~” he whispered in jest, his breath dancing over the surface of Kenma’s skin.

There was a devious chuckle that escaped his lips when the other whipped their head around to meet his gaze, exactly as he planned. Allowing Tetsurō to lock their lips in an amorous kiss.

He intended to share one chaste kiss, but the more he held Kenma in his arms, the harder it was to let go. Tetsurō broke briefly before connecting their lips again, taking Kenma in as if he was desperate for air only they could provide. His lover tasted divine, and soon, he could think of only one clear way to expel his passion.

He carried Kenma to the bedroom.
