Chapter Text
It wasn’t as though Felix was boastful on purpose. Even though it was very well in his nature to be, there was something about his current situation that made him want to keep it close to himself—a private, intimate secret world just for him.
However, Miroh was a small and isolated place that thrived on gossip so the fact that the Wolf God had only been calling on one person for the past week became huge news. No one had ever witnessed this before—even those who had been in Miroh for decades. If there was one thing Bang Chan was known for, it was not caring about any of them as individuals, never remembering names or faces of any of the Miroh residents. He was notorious for have a new person; sometimes two or three new people, in his bed every day.
Which is what Felix knew everyone thought was happening. The fellow residents of The Hall as well as all of the other offerings in Miroh all assumed that Chan was fucking him whenever he was whisked away to the Temple. A random beta has even cornered him in the hot springs yesterday as he was taking a bath and asked him for tips about how to enchant an alpha. Since Chan was the only alpha in all of Miroh, Felix hadn’t exactly been keen on giving her any advice.
But the truth of the matter was that Chan and Felix hadn’t actually even slept together yet. For all the rumors about the Wolf God’s sexual appetite, Chan always seemed laser focused on pleasuring Felix instead of chasing his own release.
In fact, the God seemed fascinated by everything about Felix in general. He always encouraged Felix to keep his claws out, would run his fingers over the omega’s fangs all the time, and seemed to enjoy nothing more than spending hours with his face plastered in Felix’s neck—inhaling deeply at his scent gland as he listened in amusement to Felix ramble on and on about the chaos he had caused his old pack.
It was thrilling. Part of it because there was some level of deep seated power that came with being the current interest of a literal God. But more than the fact that Chan was a God, the excitement came from being with Chan himself. Felix had never wondered what his ideal alpha would be—everyone he had encountered was more or less the same, just different shades of boring. In the past he had been courted, he had been engaged, he had made it to a couple of weddings even. There hadn’t been any wild romances, but there had been plenty of grand gestures and declarations of love. None of those even held a candle to receiving one simple smile from Chan.
Felix was still cautious. It had only been a week and his whole life had trained him to constantly be on guard. He wasn’t doing anything silly like giving his heart away to the God, but whatever was going on was the most fun he had ever had.
Of course, the other residents of Miroh did not see things similarly.
On a rare day that Chan had actual God duties to attend to, Felix found himself outside of the Temple during the daytime for the first time since he had arrived in the Holy City. Miroh was mystical at night, with its glittering steam and clear view of all the stars surrounding them; but it was magical during the day as well. The sun shone brightly above them and reflected off the snowy surroundings. The occasional pillars of ice or frozen tree branches scattered around caused rainbows to be reflected onto the ground as Felix walked into the marketplace. He hadn’t been assigned a job like everyone else in Miroh so he wasn’t sure if he was able to take anything from the stalls, but he wanted to take a closer look at them either way. If he found something he liked maybe he could convince Chan to get it for him.
He was just about to head over to one of the bread stalls, when three people stepped in his way. They smelled sweet, like fruits and flowers and a hint of spice from one of them. Omegas.
“What are you doing here?” One of them asked. He had short cropped black hair and looked at least two decades older than Felix. The other two omegas that flanked him were about as different as they could get. One was a youthful girl with large eyes and hair almost as light as Felix’s. The other seemed a little older than Nayeon with pink hair and sleepy eyes. The only thing similar about all three was the fact that they looked angry.
“Am I not allowed to go to the marketplace?” Felix asked, confused. This city had entirely too many rules.
“Just didn’t expect you to be prancing around Miroh like you own the place” the man with cropped hair said. He eyed Felix with disdain "You must feel all high and mighty thinking Bang Chan-nim cares about you”
Oh, so this was what was going on. Felix rolled his eyes. How boring. Jealousy was such a trite thing.
“Don’t know what Bang Chan-nim sees in a beta” the pink haired lady said, spitting that last word out as though it was a curse “And a freaky looking one at that”
Felix didn’t bother correcting their misconception. Most people who didn’t know him would assume he was a beta due to his lack of smell. And it wasn’t even because of scent blockers this time—Chan had made him throw those out the second day he was in Miroh. Instead, the God had put a spell on him so that only he could smell Felix’s scent. It was mutually beneficial. Chan’s possessive side was fully indulged, and Felix didn’t have to bother with slathering his whole body in blockers just to live normally amongst others.
“What?” Felix asked, getting closer to the pink haired lady “You’re mad that the Wolf God likes a beta more than you? Insecure that a beta can pleasure him more than you’ll even be able to?”
The lady looked taken aback that Felix actually talked back to her. It seemed like the three of them were used to running the place without any sort of interference. Felix would see about that; he wasn't the type to accept being pushed around. The short haired guy moved next to her, crowding Felix.
“Back away from Yeeun” he said “Do you even know who we are?”
“Should I?” Felix asked, one eyebrow raised. It was laughable that these fools thought they could intimidate him.
“I’m Wooyoung, this is Yeeun and Somi” the man said. Felix looked at them in confusion.
“Okay, and am I supposed to recognize those names?”
“Don’t act like the Wolf God has never mentioned us before” Wooyoung said with a scoff “We’re his favored omegas. We’ve had 10 of his children amongst the three of us. Do you know how many times he’s bedded us to make that happen?”
Felix laughed, the sound loud and grating in the increasingly silent marketplace. “Oh, we don’t do much talking when we’re alone” he said. It wasn’t true—they talked plenty. But he loved seeing the anger on the other omega’s faces. If he could sustain himself solely on the rage of others, he’d be happy “Besides, Bang Chan-nim doesn’t even know the name of his children, let alone the people he’s had them with. You’re pathetic if you think he talks about you”
“The only pathetic one here is you.” Somi said “I heard the guards talking about you, they said your original pack couldn’t wait to get rid of you, that you were a pariah.”
“A freak” Yeeun added in, just for fun.
Wooyoung grinned “And now you’re here thinking Bang Chan-nim cares about a beta who’s only been here for a week and can’t give him anything.”
“I give him plenty” Felix grinned. “Plenty more than an old man like yourself could ever dream of.” Wooyoung obviously had enough of Felix and his attitude because instead of replying, he just punched the younger omega in the face.
Felix fell to the ground at the force, his head banging against the surface, a few stray rocks cutting into his skin. He laughed as he felt his cheek swell. Oh, he had gotten under their skin so beautifully. He was about to push himself up from the ground when someone stepped in front of him.
He looked up to see Changbin staring at the three omegas with a glare.
“Leave him alone” Changbin bit out, voice hard and menacing.
“Don’t get involved in this, Seo” Yeeun growled “This has nothing to do with you.”
“You’re threatening my roommate, I have every right to get involved”
“Oh?” Wooyoung asked, stepping forward “You think you’re better than us too just because you’re roommates with the pariah? All of you people from The Hall get so uppity when you haven’t even done anything”
“None of us have done anything” Changbin scoffed “We’re offerings. Our purpose ended when we were sent here”
“I have given Bang Chan-nim two children!” Wooyoung spat out “I preserved his bloodline. That is more than any of you can say”
Changbin let out a sarcastic laugh “And you think he cares about that? Does he even know the name of these children? If they’re alphas, do you think he’ll let them stay in Miroh or will he kick them and you out without second thought? Bang Chan-nim is immortal, his bloodline will live on forever through him. All we are here for is to be of some amusement for him, and Felix does it better than anyone else.”
“This freak is just the toy of the week” Yeeun said, aiming a kick at Felix's face and getting him straight in the mouth. He felt his lip split and tasted the blood in his mouth.
Okay, now this had just gone too far. Felix could take a punch and whatever insults hurled at him by insecure people. Neither of those things had ever affected him. However, splitting his lip open was just unacceptable. How was he supposed to make out with Chan now?
With a growl, Felix launched himself up from the ground, claws fully extended as he lunged at Yeeun. The omega fell onto her back and Felix clung on, falling down with her. He slashed at her face—teeth bared—and watched her eyes grow wide in terror. He could hear Changbin and the other omegas yelling at him in the background, but it was all white noise to him. This girl had made him bleed and she wouldn’t get away with it.
He sunk his claws into the delicate skin of her neck, watching her eyes grow more and more terrified as she began to understand what her fate was. Her arms flailed out as she began to scratch at the ground, trying to get away. But Felix’s claws were dug in too deep and she couldn’t move. He watched as the horror started to bleed out of her eyes, much like the blood oozing around his fingers, until they became dull and vacant. Lifeless.
Yeeun’s body twitched a couple of times and Felix kept still—kneeling on her with his claws in her neck. He only detached himself once all of her movements stopped and he could feel no pulse at all underneath his fingers. He took his claws out and licked her blood from his fingers. It tasted bitter.
“What the fuck did you just do?”
Felix looked up and saw Wooyoung looking at him in horror and anger—face red. “You just killed one of Bang Chan nim’s offerings! That is a cardinal sin here, you…you just broke Miroh’s most important rule”
“Do you want to be next?” Felix spat out. He bared his teeth—still red from Yeeun’s blood. Wooyoung backed away quickly.
“You are going to be executed” Somi breathed out as Felix got up from the ground “It doesn’t matter how amusing Bang Chan-nim thinks you are, you killed one of his belongings. There’s no way he’s going to let you live now”
“Well if I’m as good as dead, might as well take you two bitches down with me” Felix said, claws still extracted as he rounded on the two omegas who suddenly looked even more terrified. He was stopped by a hand on his shoulder.
“Felix, let’s go back home” Changbin said, looking at Yeeun’s body bleeding out on the ground.
“Like hell I’m letting these two live!”
Changbin shook his head “They’re right, you broke one of the main rules here. You’re not allowed to kill any of the offerings because they are property of Bang Chan-nim to do whatever he pleases with them. He’s going to be angry if I don’t get you out of here before you cause more trouble”
“They’re the ones who started this all!” Felix seethed, waving at the two omegas
“I know. And we can tell the Wolf God about it when he gets back” Changbin insisted “For now, let me take you back home. I need to take care of your cheek, it’s swelling up”
“I don’t need a babysitter” Felix spat out, eyes still trained on Wooyoung and Somi.
“I’m not your babysitter, I’m your friend” Changbin said. And that took Felix aback for a second. A friend? He had never had a friend before and definitely no one who would call him that aloud in front of other people. “And I’m trying to keep you alive. Please, come back home with me”
Felix took one last look at the other two omegas, huffing out a snort before he turned to Changbin.
“Fine, take me home”
The beta seemed relieved as he grabbed onto Felix’s shoulder and moved him through the marketplace. A whole crowd of people had gathered around once the fight had began and Changbin shielded Felix from all of them, tucking the omega’s head into his side as he navigated them back to The Hall.
Changbin was exceedingly gentle as he led Felix down the winding paths and around the heated pools that sprang up randomly. Once they were safely back in The Hall, he guided Felix towards one of he settees, sitting him down on it and looking at Felix’s cheek with appraising eyes. Even though he was the most muscled person Felix had ever seen, he handled the omega as though he was made of glass; touches light and soft. He took a piece of cloth from his pocket and walked outside for a moment.
Felix stared at the entryway until Changbin reappeared, holding the cloth that now had something tied in it.
“I packed it with snow from outside” Changbin explained “It’ll be good for the swelling in your cheek. Just press the coldest side against it”
“How did you end up here?” Felix asked, gratefully taking the bundle from Changbin.
“What? We...walked here together...”
“No. How did you end up in Miroh. You seem like an ideal beta. Why would your pack send you as offering here?”
Changbin’s very faint fresh laundry scent soured a little as he sat on the settee next to Felix. He fiddled with the thick brass bracelet that he had mentioned Chan giving to him in the past—fingers tracing over the delicate carvings of trees and leaves.
“What’s an ideal beta?”
Felix shrugged “Dependable, loyal, smart”
Changbin blushed “That’s what people thought about betas back in your pack?”
“Is that’s what people think about betas in every pack?”
“I’m from a pack in the east; we lived deep in the forest separated by miles from any nearby pack so we were always a little isolated and traditional” Changbin explained, eyes glazed. Felix had heard about the more traditional packs, ones where omegas and alphas weren’t even allowed to meet before they came of age and were assigned partners to mate. Felix’s pack had never sent him off to one of those; knowing any traditional pack would take one look at him and send him back immediately, but he had still encountered some on his travels. “Omegas and alphas were prized since they’re able to have babies easily. Betas were mostly ignored”
“From the time I was a baby, I was raised to serve the omegas and alphas in our pack” Changbin continued “it was a beta’s duty to take care of the more important sexes. We were usually assigned to a household and would work as maids or cooks. I was sent to the Park household because I was strong and Hyebin, the alpha of the family, was the pack's main hunter and would use me to carry back anything she killed during her hunts”
“Was she a good alpha?” Felix asked, even though he already knew the answer. Changbin frowned darkly.
“She was terrible. When I came to her as a young boy, she was just violent and mean to me. She expected me to keep up with her on all her hunts even though I had never been trained to, and if I couldn’t she would beat or starve me. Once I grew up and became an adult, though, she…”
He broke off and Felix understood. He rolled his eyes. Typical alpha brutes.
“She wanted to bed you”
Changbin nodded tersely “Even though she was mated and had children and I was a beta, she still had her eyes on me. When I rejected her, she told the rest of the pack that I had come on to her. A beta trying to bed a mated alpha was a huge sin in our pack so they sent me as offering to Bang Chan-nim the very next day”
“And let me guess” Felix drawled “Park Hyebin was able to live life normally after all of that”
“I’m sure she’s still living like normal with her mate and children. Probably with another beta under her to abuse. Alphas always get away with everything."
“It’s unfair” Felix said simply.
Changbin shrugged “It’s life; life had been unfair for most of us offerings”
Felix didn’t know if life had been unfair to him. Sure he was different and always ostracized from the world since the time he was born. But now that he had met Chan, he was starting to realize that every aspect of him had been carefully crafted for a very specific purpose. He found it hard to see his once hated features as unfairness now that he had met his life’s reason.
“You know what the worst part of it all is?” Changbin continued “Even with as awful as Hyebin was to me, I still miss my home. I miss my family and the beta friends I grew up with. I miss the forests too, the animals and the greenness of everything. When I was little and wanted to escape from my chores, I would climb up the tallest tree I could find and fall asleep in the branches. Sometimes the sun would shine through them and birds would come out to play.”
“It sounds lovely” Felix muttered. He wondered what it felt like, missing something. He didn’t miss his pack at all. Sometimes he thought about Nayeon and what she was doing, but he felt much more at home amongst the cold starkness of the north than he ever did in the perpetual hot and sunny southern isles.
“It was lovely. But there is some light here too. Even though Bang Chan-nim is cruel, he did me a great service assigning me to The Hall. I’ve grown closer to the people here than I thought possible”
Felix wondered if he was included in that.
He didn’t have a chance to ponder that question more because in a flash of blinding light, Bang Chan appeared in front of them—looking like he was two seconds away from committing murder. His whole body was trembling with poorly concealed rage.
Changbin immediately dropped to his knees and bowed, welcoming the Wolf God to The Hall. Chan brushed him off in his haste to get over to Felix.
“What the fuck happened to your face?”
Felix’s whole body immediately softened. His pouty lips trembled and his eyes started to water. Changbin thought it was fascinating to witness in real time. The omega was truly a master at his craft.
“I go away for a couple of hours to deal with the western temples and this is what I come back to?” Chan growled. He turned to Changbin with fire in his eyes “How the fuck did you allow this to happen! Did someone touch him??”
Changbin stuttered, still kneeling on the ground. He wanted to throw himself on the floor to beg for forgiveness, terrified that this would be where he would die.
“Don’t get mad at Changbin. He actually helped me get away” Felix whined. “I was attacked by three omegas in the market. They were jealous that you were giving me attention”
“What did they do to you?” Chan asked, turning away from Changbin and giving his full concentration to the omega in front of him. He grabbed Felix’s face and turned it from side to side, eyes sliding over the scratches on his cheeks and his split lip. “Why are you hurt?”
“They punched me and threw me to the ground” Felix whimpered “And then one of them kicked me in the mouth so I cut my lip. She called me a freak”
Chan’s hand trembled “Did she now?”
“I killed her”
Changbin held his breath, worried about Chan’s response. Sure the Wolf God was more indulgent with Felix than he had ever seen before, but killing one of his offerings without permission might be a step too far. Even though Chan never cared about them as individuals, he hated for anyone to mess with what he owned or cause a disturbance in Miroh. Changbin had seen the God strike a beta dead just for taking another offering’s loaf of bread before.
But all Chan did was smile and pat Felix’s chin “Good boy. And the other two?”
“They’re still there” Felix frowned “I wanted to kill them too but they said that you would get angry and strike me dead. Changbin took me away before I got into more trouble”
Chan turned to Changbin, who didn’t know whether to apologize for dragging Felix away from the marketplace or not. He knew the most important rule of Miroh was to not kill one of Bang Chan-nim’s offerings, but it didn’t seem like any of the normal rules applied to Felix.
But instead of yelling at him, Chan just narrowed his eyes and asked “What are their names?”
“Jeon Somi and Jang Wooyoung” Changbin said quickly. “Wooyoung seemed to be the leader of them. He was the one that punched Felix”
Chan nodded briefly, before looking back at Felix. He traced over his bruised cheek again before huffing out a sigh. “This Wooyoung might have led them, but did Somi stop him from hurting you?”
“No” Felix said. “No one in the market bothered to stop them besides Changbin”
“Then their fates have been decided” Chan said. He gathered Felix in arms and in a flash, they were gone.
When Felix opened his eyes again, he was standing in the middle of the marketplace. Minho was on one side of him and Chan was on the other. The Wolf God was holding him close to his side, a protective arm draped across his waist.
“Hello Minho” Felix said, happily. The advisor sighed.
“Hello Felix. I see you’ve had an exciting day once again”
“I think it’s about to get much more exciting”
Everyone in the marketplace immediately dropped to their knees at the God’s sudden appearance. He ignored them all as he stared into the crowd of people and sneered.
“Where are Jang Wooyoung and Jeon Somi?”
A rush of whispers broke out amongst the crowd and there was a fluttering of movement until the two omegas appeared a few moments later. Somi looked terrified as she bowed, but Wooyoung had on a smug expression.
“Bang Chan-nim” he said warmly, walking forward as though he expected to be embraced by the God “Are you looking for people who witnessed that beta killing Yeeun? I saw it with my own eyes”
“What did you see?” Chan asked.
“He dug into her throat…he has claws, did you know that? I guess he keeps them hidden most of the time, but he let them out and clawed Yeeun’s throat out. It was so horrible to see!! I was about to cry, he’s like a wild animal, Bang Chan-nim. He even scared the children that were in the marketplace, they’ve never seen anyone so feral”
“I can give them a repeat performance” Felix said, leaning forward, claws itching to come out. He felt Chan’s arm tighten around his waist.
“How did Felix get these injuries?” The God asked.
“He’s dangerous!” Somi said quickly, straightening up from her bow “Wooyoung was just trying to protect everybody from the beta’s craziness. We didn’t know who he would hurt next!”
Chan turned to look at the rest of the crowd in the marketplace “And everyone else here saw this as well?”
The crowd murmured amongst each other until one of the ladies that was working a stall spoke up. “We all saw it happen, Bang Chan-nim. He ripped out Yeeun’s throat right in front of us. He looked like he was about to attack Wooyoung and Somi too until Changbin took him away. It was terrifying”
Felix sighed and looked over the crowd. He had, probably naively, hoped that maybe Miroh would be different. In many ways he had found a place where it felt like he might belong. But some things would always be the same. Chan might accept him and the other boys in The Hall seemed to not feel negatively towards him at least, but most people still despised having him around.
“And did you see Wooyoung hurt Felix?”
“It was in self defense!” Wooyoung cried out.
“Address me properly!” Chan roared. Wooyoung swallowed deeply.
“It was in self defense, Bang Chan-nim. No one here intervened because they knew this beta is dangerous. He was going to kill Somi and I next”
“I have heard everything that I need to about this situation” Chan said. “It seems as though some disturbing things took place here earlier”
He turned towards the crowd and Wooyoung took the opportunity to lean closer to Felix, that smug smile just growing wider.
“We told you that you were going to be executed, freak” Wooyoung whispered to Felix. “I can't wait to see it happen. You can’t just get away with murdering someone”
“And if I just put my claws through your old man face right now what would you do? You wouldn’t….”
Felix’s threat was interrupted by Wooyoung’s body collapsing on the floor in a heap. Somi followed right after him. Just like the guard that Chan had killed a week earlier, Felix knew they were dead just by looking at them.
The crowd around the erupted into a chorus of gasps and screams. Chan turned to face them with fiery eyes.
"Wooyoung and Somi made the grave mistake of touching and threatening what is mine" he said, tone low and even “And as for all of you, everyone who saw these two push around a new Miroh resident and did nothing to stop it, none of you are welcome in my city anymore.”
“You’re expelling us?” Someone from the back of the crowd yelled “What…where will we go?”
“That is not my problem” Chan bit out “Be thankful and give prayers to me for the rest of your lives that I am not striking you dead on the spot like these two”
The marketplace suddenly filled with the sounds of sobbing and apologizes and begging. Chan didn’t seem to be affected by it at all.
“Bang Chan-nim…are we really to expel everyone gathered here?” Minho asked, cautiously. He took one look at Felix’s swollen cheek and torn lip and knew he had to tread carefully.
“You heard what I said” Chan answered “I don’t want to have people in my city that will just stand around and watch an innocent omega get beat. Expel everyone and assign new people to work the stalls here. I will not have my villagers disrespect Felix like that”
Felix felt a shiver run through his whole body as he turned to Chan and looked the God straight in the eyes.
“I wanted to be the one to kill them” he pouted.
Chan looked down at him and grinned “You have to let me do my duties, little pet. I’m the one who makes the decisions here in Miroh. You can't just go around killing anyone you please”
“Yeah, but wouldn’t I have looked so cute ripping their faces off?”
Chan laughed. If the townsfolk around them had not been panicking about being exiled, they would have been shocked. The Wolf God never laughed. “You look cute doing anything”
“Yeah?” Felix whispered “Am I cute when I do this?” He grabbed a handful of Chan’s hair and brought their faces together, kissing him right there in the middle of a marketplace filled with grieving people.
Chan groaned into his mouth and kissed him back just as fiercely. Felix wound his arms around the alpha’s neck.
Minho sighed deeply as he turned and saw those two fucking making out as everyone around them descended into chaos at suddenly being kicked out of their homes. He felt a migraine coming on. He would never know peace as long as Felix was around.
“Bang Chan-nim. Please, we’re in public” he begged.
Chan tore his face away from Felix’s and looked at his advisor angrily “And? They’re not my villagers anymore so why should I care what I do in front of them?”
Okay, so that tactic wasn’t going to work. Minho had to pivot quickly.
“That is true, but do you really want other people to see Felix like this? Maybe they’ll start to fantasize about kissing him too”
Chan’s eyes darkened and Minho knew he had gotten through to the God. Chan gathered Felix up into his arms and with a flash, the three of them were back in the Temple. Minho looked at the familiar walls surrounding him and sighed again. He didn’t even want to think of the mess they had just left behind.
“Bang Chan-nim, we…”
He turned and saw that Chan wasn’t even there anymore. He caught sight of the Wolf God hurriedly making his way down the corridor that led to his personal chambers. Minho ran after him, yelling out.
“Bang Chan-nim; we need to deal with moving all of those people out of Miroh!”
“Just round up the guards and use them to kick them all out. You can be in charge of it; I don’t want to see any of them anymore”
Minho really didn’t want to be in charge of dealing with the consequences of Chan’s rash decisions but his job as the Wolf God’s advisor was basically just him constantly doing things he really didn’t want to do.
“Okay, I'll do that. And for the matter of the remaining meetings for you to attend with the western temples today…” Minho asked as he hurried behind the God. Felix leaned his head on Chan’s shoulder and stuck his tongue out at the advisor.
“Cancel them” Chan said, shortly. They reached the door that led to Chan’s personal chambers. The God shifted Felix to one arm with ease in order to open the door with the other.
“But, Bang Chan-nim, we’ve already cancelled a handful of times. The priests will be…”
“You’re dismissed, Minho” Chan said as he kicked the door shut behind them and then dropped Felix down on a fur covered settee. Felix preened at the softness surrounding him, stretching his limbs and clawing at the fur underneath him. Everything in Chan’s personal chambers was soft. He had expected the chambers of a God to be made of marble and dripping with gold, but Chan seemed to prefer intricately carved wooden furniture with various exotic furs draped over everything. He hadn’t made it past the sitting room into Chan’s bedchambers quite yet, but he predicted that the God’s bed would be equally as plush and soft.
“You really do look like a kitten” Chan said, face pulled up in a fond smile. Felix stared at it in wonder. It was so different than those smiles he showed in public—the sardonic half grins or the dangerous smirks that meant someone was about to die. This smile made his whole face light up, his eyes crinkled small and dimples appearing in his cheek. Like this, he was less of a God and more just an alpha that Felix was finding himself increasingly keen on.
“You have a pretty smile” the omega said, a little dreamily.
Chan’s eyes widened in surprise “You think my smile is pretty?”
Felix scoffed “Of course. Everything about you is pretty. Surely you know that”
“I…I don’t think anybody has called me pretty before” Chan said, a little bashful. He had been called countless things before—most of them negative: cruel, wicked, violent, savage, uncaring, a bastard. The most positive thing anyone had said about him was that he was hot. None of the insults nor praises from humans meant anything to him. His siblings had a few colorful things to call him as well, but they mattered even less.
Yet, despite Felix being a mere human from an ordinary tribe, he somehow wanted to hear everything that this omega thought about him.
“Well then everyone is an idiot” Felix said with snarl “Because you are pretty. And when you laugh, you’re cute. And when you tell a whole crowd of people to fuck off, you’re hot. And when you finally come over here and kiss my injuries away, you’re sexy”
Chan laughed again and crawled his way over the settee, grabbing Felix and placing him in his lap. His eyes roamed over the omega’s cheek and lip.
“Don’t let anybody else hurt you again”
Felix dropped his forehead against Chan’s. He rolled his hips over the God’s lap, feeling the outline of Chan’s cock through his pants “But seeing you kill people over it gets me so worked up, you know?”
“You are a menace, Lee Felix” Chan said, smashing their lips together desperately. His tongue licked over the seam of Felix;s mouth again and again until the omega gave in and let him enter. Chan licked into his mouth, running his tongue over Felix’s fangs.
Felix let his mind wander as Chan explored his mouth further. Normally, he would lose himself in the moment and get so worked up that they would rut against each other like horny teenagers or take it a step further. Felix had just taken Chan’s cock into his mouth for the first time a couple of days ago and he was eager to do it again.
But not quite yet. He had a more important things to deal with first. He pulled away from Chan, trying his hardest to ignore the way the God followed his mouth with his own like a kicked puppy. Instead he just leaned back and took a deep breath, centering himself.
“I need you to do something for me” Felix said, running a single clawed finger up Chan’s chest. The god looked at him with one eyebrow raised.
“Demanding things of me already?”
“I’ve demanded plenty of things from you” Felix muttered. Chan laughed.
“That you have, pet. Do you want me to lick your pretty pussy again?”
“That wouldn’t really be you doing me a favor, would it?” Felix asked with a scoff. Most of the time, Chan liked doing it more than Felix enjoyed being on the receiving end. Not that either of them were complaining about it.
“Then what is it that you desire?”
Felix played with Chan’s fingers, rubbing the sharp knuckles that sat under moon pale skin. “There is a person who I would like for you to take care of for me”
“You need to be more specific with your words, pet. Take care of how?”
Felix looked up at Chan with wide, innocent eyes. Even though his mismatched eyes were intimidating to the average person, people in his pack had always said he had a very good pleading expression. “I need you to kill someone for me”
“I already killed those omegas who hurt you”
“Not them” Felix said “An alpha. From a western pack”
Chan frowned deeply “How do you know an alpha from the west? I thought your home pack was in the Southern Isles”
“I’ve traveled around more than you can believe. I’ve been to every inch of this land” Felix said, not wanting to go into details about his past engagements now. He knew that the Wolf God wouldn’t take it well and even though part of him trembled with excitement over the thought of Chan going on a murderous spree with all his old fiancé’s, he had a more pressing issue to deal with now. “My pack never wanted to deal with me and would send me away often”
“And this alpha in the west was cruel to you during your travels?”
“She often looked at things that did not belong to her” Felix said. It wasn’t exactly a lie, but from the way Chan’s eyes darkened fiercely, it was obvious the God assumed that Felix was the thing that was being looked at.
But what Chan didn’t know couldn’t hurt him.
“What’s her name?” Chan asked, voice calm but there was a slight tremble beneath it that Felix was able to detect.
“Park Hyebin”
“She will be dead” Chan stated, tone final. It was as though it was a fact and not a promise. Felix knew there was no doubt about it. However it didn’t end there.
“That’s not all I want” Felix continued, this time pouting his pretty lips. It added to the overall pathetic expression that most alphas were always weak to. And Chan, at his core, was just another alpha.
“My pet is being extra demanding today”
“This is an extra bad alpha, Bang Chan-nim” Felix pouted, batting his eyelashes a few times for good measure. Chan leaned over and placed a clawed finger under Felix’s chin, lifting it up and looking the boy straight in his eyes. Felix almost scoffed. If the Wolf God thought he could detect a lie just by looking into Felix’s eyes, then he needed to up his game. Felix wasn’t a normal omega—he had years of practice with this. And he was a born natural at putting alphas under his spell.
“What did she do to you?”
“She is a very cruel person” Felix answered. Once again, not a lie. “I want you to bring her body to me. I need to see her dead”
Chan frowned deeply “You know I don’t like having other alphas in Miroh. Their smell taints my city”
Okay, so Felix needed to up his game a little. That could be done. He moved even closer to Chan, so close that their lips were almost touching.
“I need to see her body, need to taste her blood” he whispered into the scant space between them. “Don’t you want to kiss me with her blood on my lips?”
Chan’s breath hitched and Felix had to stop himself from laughing. Typical alpha…
“Plus, If you do this for me maybe I’ll finally let you fuck me”
“You belong to me” Chan stated, pulling back with a grin “I can fuck you whenever I want”
“I’m sure you can, but what’s the fun in that? It’s better if I give it to you willingly, isn’t it?” Felix asked. He rolled his hips one more time for good measure “Maybe we can even fuck over her dead body? You can take me and claw me and watch my blood drip down onto her body. Would you like that?”
Chan breathed out harshly before bringing his head down and licking into Felix’s mouth one more time. “I’ll give you anything you want, my pet. But we’re not going to fuck on a dead body. That’s not hygienic”
“Yeah and neither is licking my ass but that's never stopped you” Felix said, rolling his eyes. Chan laughed—bright and loud—before snapping one of his clawed fingers.
A thud was heard from down the hallway followed by Minho’s loud shriek.
“Her body is waiting in the entrance hall for you” Chan said nonchalantly. “You can go look at it. I’m sure you’re eager to take her over to Changbin”
Felix’s eyes grew wide “You knew?”
“Of course I knew. I’m a God, Felix. It wasn’t difficult to wonder why you wanted an alpha from Changbin’s old pack killed”
Felix looked up at Chan. “You knew she never did anything to me but you still killed her anyways”
“You asked me to” Chan said simply. Felix felt his heart surge but he didn’t want to look into that too deeply.
“Would you really give me anything I want?”
“Within reason, pet”
“Well what I really want is for you to fuck me tomorrow” Felix breathed out. “I know you have meetings, but I’m sure you can cancel them. I’ve been here for a week and you haven’t fucked me yet. That’s really not fair”
“I thought you were the one who didn’t want me to fuck you yet?” Chan grinned lazily.
“I wanted you to do it earlier today but you left me all alone and I got hurt because of that” Felix pouted. “But it’s okay. You exiled and killed all those people for me and you’ll fuck me tomorrow, so I don’t feel that bad anymore”
“You really are a menace” Chan said with a shake of his head. “I’ll be all yours tomorrow and I’ll fuck your pretty pussy as many times as you want. Now go and look at your precious dead body you begged me for”
“My perfect, pretty alpha” Felix preened. He leaned over to kiss Chan one last time before jumping off the settee and running out of the sitting room and to the entrance hall in a swirl of silver hair and golden skin and giggles. He was like a child excited to see his birthday gift.
Chan watched the omega’s retreating back in wonder before leaning back against the settee. He raked a hand over his face. What was getting into him?
The next morning dawned cool and foggy, as it seemed to perpetually be this far up north. Changbin walked from his room through the living room of The Hall, waving lazily at Jisung who was still half passed out on one of the settees. That was typical of Jisung, who only made it to his own bed half the time, preferring to fall asleep on whatever soft surface he landed on first. He had been extra busy the day before since he had randomly been assigned to manage one of the stalls in the marketplace after all the old shopkeepers had been exiled. Miroh was still in a state of chaos over it all, but it was starting to calm down a little.
Changbin walked outside the entrance to gather water to heat up and drink as he always did every morning. Only this time there was a surprise waiting for him.
He stood, so still it was almost like he was paralyzed, as he stared in wonder and horror at the site in front of him.
There, in front of him, hanging off the grand willow tree of The Hall’s main courtyard, was the body of Park Hyebin. He hadn’t seen the alpha in years but there was no mistaking the strong curve of her jaw; the broad shoulders, her long and wild brown hair. Her skin was unnaturally pale in death and Changbin found himself speechless.
Why was the alpha that had haunted his nightmares his whole adult life hanging dead in front of him?
A rustle of noise came from behind him. Changbin turned to see Felix stepping out of The Hall. His silver hair was a little wild and tousled and he was holding a nectarine snatched from their fruit bowl in one of his hands. He came to stand next to Changbin and looked up at the tree with appreciating eyes.
Felix took a bite of the nectarine with his fanged teeth. Juice spilled past his lips which pulled up into a little grin. Changbin followed the trail as it trickled down to the omega’s chin. For a second he wondered what it would be like to lick it off. The back of his neck suddenly prickled cold—as though in warning. His eyes snapped back up to Felix’s as the omega turned to him with that pleased smile.
“I guess life can be fair after all, huh, Changbin-ah”
Changbin couldn’t reply as Felix took another bite of the nectarine and grinned. “Well if you'd excuse me, I did promise a God that he could fuck me today so I have to prepare myself for that”. And with that insane statement, the omega turned and walked back into The Hall so casually; as though finding a dead body hanging in their front courtyard was no surprise at all.
Which, Changbin realized quickly, it probably wasn’t. Who else could be responsible for this? Who else had a God wrapped so tightly around his fingers that he could cause this to happen? Hyebin had been one of the most powerful alphas in his whole pack and now she was hanging like a sacrifice just for him. In that moment, Changbin felt a rush of loyalty towards Felix that he had never felt towards anyone before. He knew that whatever the omega did, he would protect him.
Jisung ambled out next, on his way to gather his own water, when he stopped dead in his tracks right next to Changbin. He looked up at the tree with huge eyes.
“What is that????”
Changbin turned and glanced at Hyebin’s face. It was once so marked and twisted with cruelty. In death, she looked almost peaceful.
“It’s justice”
