Work Text:
Meg couldn't handle living with her family anymore.
She's always hated her father, Peter, who'd physically abuse her relentlessly. She couldn't stand all those times he'd push her, beat her up, told her to shut up, and even the times she was the butt of the joke. Not to mention, he didn't even seem to act like a father at all, nor care about his family. He was most definitely not a family guy.
And then there was her mother, Lois. She didn't do anything to stop her husband from doing all those things. As a mother, she should've been a role model for Meg, yet instead, she's done nothing but discourage her from her dreams, so she could uplift her ego.
There was her little brother, Chris, who was supposed to be by her side, and yet he also contributed to the family's abuse against her.
Brian, the family's talking dog, didn't really do much, but that was the problem. He may not have actively harmed her, but he's never there for her. That irritated Meg, since family pets are supposed to help people overcome their problems.
Lastly, there was her baby brother, Stewie. Despite being a baby though, he was often rude to everyone. He did stand up for her a few times, but that was it.
"How is that baby so smart anyway," Meg thought, but she decided to put that at the back of her mind for now.
Meg felt unwanted. Her presence felt like a huge inconvenience to her family. And they all proved her point with their constant groans and the way they all frowned at her comments. It was no secret that her parents were awful parents, since they also seemed to make fun of her brothers, but somehow, they were much worse with her.
With all these thoughts swirling around her head, Meg decided to pack her bags run away. Not only will her disappearance go unnoticed at first, but she felt that if her family DID notice eventually, they'd be more than happy she's gone.
She didn't have much places to go. If she were to go to Joe's house next door, he'd probably bring her back. As for Quagmire's place on the other hand next door, she'd stay away from him. The only place she had in her mind was Cleveland's, which was right across the street from her house.
As soon as she crossed the street, she knocked on Cleveland's door. As expected, he and his wife, Donna showed up.
"Hey guys, is it okay if I crash here for a little bit?" Asked Meg, a little hesitantly.
"Well, I'm not really-" Cleveland said before being cut off by his wife, who replied with "Of course you can!"
"Thanks," Meg said, "I'll talk about it, later."
Inside the house, she was met with three new faces. A girl, named Roberta, who looked a bit older than her. A boy, named Cleveland Jr., after his father, who was fun-loving, and a child, named Rallo, whose intelligence levels were above his peers, just like in her own home, but something felt different.
The place seems... friendly? It was definitely a shift from her usual lifestyle. "Hello, I've decided to crash here for a while.." Meg said, shyly.
"Oh, hi Meg," Roberta sxclaimed, seeming happy to see her around.
"Why are you staying here," asked Rallo, curiously, and a bit rudely.
"Rallo!!!" Exclaimed Donna. "She's our guest. Please be nice!"
"Fiiine." Replied Rallo, with a hint of apathy.
"I'm so sorry about him, Meg, please make yourself at home," Sighed Donna.
"Oh, thank you," said Meg, relieved at the sight of a mother scolding her child.
As soon as Roberta decided to show Meg her room, Meg knew she made the right choice.
