Naruto’s eyes opened groggily, his vision obscured by the arm resting on his face. He attempted to sit up with a groan, but the voice that came from his throat was strangely lower in pitch and less raspy. His eyebrow arched lazily in confusion. Huh, strange, he thought, shrugging it off.
He rubbed his eyes before blinking them open and taking in his surroundings. Instead of waking up to his messy apartment, he found himself in a room devoid of anything familiar. Nothing in the room belonged to him; everything was neat, orderly, and devoid of any personal touches. The space was unrecognizable, bathed in shadows with only faint traces of sunlight peeking through the curtains.
His heart began to pound in his chest as his eyes roamed the unfamiliar space. Where was he? He reached down to take off the bed sheets, but paused when he noticed his hands. Expecting to see his usual tan skin, he was shocked to find that it had been replaced with an unusual, pale color.
What the hell…?
He ripped the bed sheets off him and hurried towards the door. But as he ran, the flicker of a raven haired boy in the corner of his eye caused Naruto to stop in his tracks.
Naruto stood there unmoving for a few seconds, reeling in his head before he slowly turned and locked his gaze on a mirror. The figure reflected made his blood run cold. He recognized the face, but it wasn’t one that belonged to him. Far from it. Instead, Sasuke’s eyes were staring back at him, wide with shock and confusion.
What. The. Fuck?!
His jaw dropped as he looked at the raven-haired boy in the mirror. Was this a dream? Naruto slapped his face and pinched his skin several times expecting himself to wake up, only to find those onyx eyes still staring at him.
Reality began to settle in. He was in Sasuke’s body. In Sasuke’s room. But if he was in his body, then that surely meant Sasuke was in Naruto’s body too. A shiver ran through his spine at the thought.
Was Sasuke awake right now too? Was he also panicking? And how the hell did this happen? So many questions, but no answers.
This was so fucked up, but freaking out wasn’t going to solve anything. Naruto sighed and gently slapped his cheeks to regain his composure, but the noise that passed from his lips made him pause.
He looked at his–or rather, Sasuke’s–reflection and let his eyes roam over his form. His gaze held an unfamiliar gentleness in them, his hair messy, and his body so…vulnerable. It was strange seeing Sasuke like this, his usual tough exterior replaced by something softer, more fragile.
Without noticing, his hand had wandered up his body, fingers gently ghosting over his neck.
So… Sasuke’s body, huh?
His mind raced as his body warmed up, a pink color starting to coat his cheeks. He swallowed hard, heavily aware of the feeling in his throat. Slowly, he wrapped his slender fingers around his neck, feeling the delicate skin under his touch. He let his fingers run up and down his jugular while he maintained steady eye contact with the reflection, almost as if he were getting lost in the act.
He’d never seen Sasuke’s features so relaxed; his usual expressions constantly switching between annoyance and seriousness. The softness on his face felt so out of place and intimate… Naruto felt his pulse quicken under his fingertips at the sight, and made him acutely aware of how hot his body felt.
What’s wrong with me? he thought, shaking his head in an attempt to desperately brush off those strange thoughts and gather his attention to the situation. There was no doubt–they had switched bodies. Sasuke was probably already awake and confused as hell too. But how were they going to fix this?
Naruto groaned as he moved his long bangs away from his face. How the hell did Sasuke live with such long hair in his face all day?
He made his way towards Sasuke’s closet and opened it, only to be met with a sea of dark colored clothes. Naruto rolled his eyes, thinking, Even his clothes are boring…
Naruto grabbed a black long sleeve and some black sweatpants, and went to take off his pajamas. But as he tugged at the hem of his shirt, he hesitated, looking down apprehensively. He gulped, realizing that changing out of these clothes meant having to see Sasuke’s naked body. Naruto’s cheeks flushed again as images of Sasuke’s bare body flashed through his mind.
Was he really this perverted? Must’ve been the pervy sage’s influence on him. Half of him felt ashamed for thinking such dirty things about his teammate, but the other half was riled up at the mere thought of it. It was an endless battle in Naruto’s mind, but not a battle he had enough energy to focus on right now.
Naruto considered the thought of just going out in his pajamas, but that would attract the eyes of everyone in the village. The Sasuke Uchiha walking around like that? Unheard of… But that didn’t mean the idea of fooling around hadn’t crossed his mind.
Deciding that was out of the question, he came up with a simple solution: changing without looking. That was the only way he could at least protect Sasuke’s dignity. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes before he swiftly brought up his shirt above his head and threw it on the ground. He took the long sleeve and put it on, though not without some struggle.
He exhaled in relief, One down, one more to go!
He slid down his pajama shorts and hurriedly bent down to grab his sweatpants. But in his rush, his foot caught onto the fabric and threw him off balance. Before he could react, he was already crashing face-first into the ground.
“Shit!” he screamed out, the sharp pain radiating through his cheek as it slammed into the unforgiving wooden floor.
Well, that was a fucking bust… He almost did it too.
Naruto groaned in frustration, laying there for a moment before trying to sit up. His hand came up to rub at the stinging pain on the side of his face. “Ow…” he whined, Sasuke’s voice coming from him again.
His eyes blinked open, forgetting the reason for them being closed in the first place. His gaze traveled from the wooden floor to the mirror in front of him. He froze as he locked eyes with the reflection–his legs spread open. His lips parted slightly and he felt his mind short-circuit.
“Jeez…” Naruto whispered with labored breath.
There it was again, images of a naked Sasuke flashed through his head, except this time he was underneath Naruto. His pale skin illuminated by the moonlight seeping through the window as his eyes looked up at Naruto with lust and love, his arms reaching out to pull him down for a kiss.
Lost in these thoughts, Naruto failed to notice his hand rubbing the heat between his legs as more images flooded into his mind.
He thought about Sasuke moaning his name as he made love to him, his usual deep voice sounding in a higher pitch as Naruto kissed down his neck. His muscles tensed and relaxed as Naruto thrusted in and out. His dark hair was splayed out on the pillow and his eyes shined with vulnerability.
The sight was almost enough to send Naruto over the edge with his heart drumming loudly in his ears. He let out a small whine as his hand traveled beneath his boxers and started teasing at his cock. He felt so good, he sounded so good. He wanted–no, he needed–to hear more of those delicious noises, the way they left him shivering and yearning for more. The soft, breathy sounds were like a melody and he couldn’t get enough of them. The craving to hear more, to drown in these sounds, had Naruto thinking of more ways to coax more noises from his throat.
The butterflies in his stomach fluttered aggressively as he laid down on his back, letting his other hand wander underneath his shirt until his fingers grazed over a nipple. He gently tugged at the bud, imagining it was his real self teasing Sasuke’s body. He kept tugging at the sensitive bud until it stiffened as his opposite hand continued stroking Sasuke’s hardened cock.
His body felt incredibly hot, and he eventually quickened the pace of his strokes. His fingers slid over Sasuke’s tip, sending shivers as his delicate whines escaped his throat calling out, “Naruto…”
He imagined himself pleasuring Sasuke with his hand, making him moan and squirm from his touch. He thought of his tongue dragging up and down each vein of Sasuke’s cock, lapping and teasing him, alternating between the tip and shaft that twitched with each lick. He wanted to rip out orgasm after orgasm from Sasuke until he was satisfied–until his breathy voice filled his ears, “Don’t stop… Naruto…”
He felt his hands getting slicker the more he moved his hand up and down his length. His breathing quickened and his muscles tensed up as the pressure built up in his stomach. He was so close. Just like that. Just a little more, and…
“N-Naruto! I’m gonna- fuck!” His words broke with a desperate and shaky gasp. He arched his back as he approached his orgasm, his dick throbbing in his hand. Throwing his head back as he felt a white rush claiming him, he was about to moan, when…
“What the fuck?” another voice said.
Naruto’s body froze and his eyes snapped open, reality crashing into him. That voice, he thought. It was unmistakable and he knew it all too well. Slowly, almost fearfully, he turned to the source of the interruption. Standing by the door was his actual body–Sasuke, looking down at him with a mix of shock and disbelief.
Onyx eyes widened as the reality of the situation immediately weighed heavily on him. With one hand down his boxers and another under his shirt, Naruto found himself staring up at the real Sasuke, who stood before him–and had just caught him in the act.
Suddenly, he was hyper aware of the beating in his ears. Naruto wanted the ground to swallow him whole right there.
“Sasuke?!” Naruto stuttered as he quickly yanked his hands away from under his clothes and sat up. “Uh- This- I swear there’s a good explanation for this!”
“…You.” Sasuke, with smoke coming out of his ears, marched his way to the boy on the floor and gripped him by the collar of his shirt. “Just what in the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
Naruto held his hands in the air. “I was just changing my- your, clothes!”
“Liar!” Sasuke hissed. “Since when did changing clothes involve you touching my body?”
A lump formed in Naruto’s throat and he stayed quiet, knowing what he said wouldn’t change Sasuke’s anger towards him.
“You’re so lucky I can’t punch you or else I’d bruise my body.” Sasuke let go of Naruto and slightly pushed him.
“Lucky me, I guess.” Naruto rolled his eyes.
“Trust me when I say I’ll kill you when we solve whatever this is.”
“I didn’t know your body was so sensitive, Sasuke.” The words slipped out of Naruto’s mouth before he could catch them.
Sasuke paused and heat rushed up to his cheeks. “Na-ru-to!” he yelled, drawing out the syllables of the boy’s name. He grabbed him by the shoulders and pinned him to the ground. “Keep talking and I swear you’ll regret it!”
“Listen, just calm down!” He grabbed onto the Uchiha’s forearms and struggled to push him away. “Sasuke!”
“Stop talking like you know everything!”
Naruto paused and just gazed into his cerulean eyes. It was weird seeing his own body looking down at him with a scowling expression–something so foreign to his body.
The feeling of their bodies so close together made Naruto shudder, noticing how Sasuke was sitting so close to his crotch.
Sasuke raised a brow at Naruto’s unresponsiveness. “Hey, what’s wrong with you? Wake up.” He snapped his fingers in front of him until he came to.
“Eh… Sorry.” Naruto turned his head away.
“What’s going through that strange head of yours?”
Naruto’s lips pressed down together. There was no chance in hell he’d tell Sasuke about what he was really thinking about… Those perverted and lewd thoughts were to stay locked up in the deepest and darkest depths of his mind.
“Get off me.” Naruto groaned, a pitiful look washing over his features. “Let’s just hurry up and go, maybe Kakashi-sensei will know what to do.”
Sasuke scoffed, “You look stupid. You’ll ruin my face if you keep pulling those expressions.”
Naruto stuck out his tongue in annoyance, making Sasuke roll his eyes before getting off him, his back facing Naruto.
They sat in a deafening silence, neither saying a word to break the awkward tension in the air. Naruto fidgeted with his fingers as he racked his brain to try and form a sentence, but he had nothing. He was way too embarrassed and incapable of playing it off.
“Why were you doing that?” Sasuke broke the uncomfortable stillness surrounding them, his voice tense and apprehensive.
Naruto stared at Sasuke’s back, struggling to find the right words. All he could muster up was a weak “I don’t know.”
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Sasuke’s fists tightening on the ground before ultimately relaxing.
Was he really that mad? Of course he was, he had every right to be when he saw his own body being touched.
But even so, Naruto wished he could’ve seen the expression Sasuke was hiding. Was he blushing? Embarrassed? Shy? He wanted to know…!
“Whatever.” Sasuke stood up and turned around to face the boy on the floor. He extended his hand for Naruto to take. “Get up, put on some pants.”
It was…jarring to say the least, seeing Naruto’s own body pull off such a serious face he’s never done before.
He took Sasuke’s hand and stood up, a throbbing feeling between his legs immediately catching his attention and making him wince. Ah… That…
Naruto stood there with pale skin turning a crimson color reminiscent of a tomato. Sasuke only looked at him with confusion as he stayed as still as a scarecrow not doing anything.
“Well? Hurry-“
“Where’s your bathroom?” Naruto interrupted as his head hung low, his bangs hiding his face.
Sasuke raised a brow and looked down to see the still apparent tent poking through Naruto’s boxers.
“Dammit…” Sasuke rubbed his temples. “It’s down the hall to the right, just hurry up, alright?!”
“Yeah, yeah!” Naruto hurriedly picked up the sweatpants from the floor and dashed outside the room.
He ran towards the bathroom and quickly locked the door behind him. His chest heaved up and down at what had transpired. Even after all that, he was still turned on? A groan escaped from his lips as he took his seat on the floor and got down to business.
A few minutes passed and finally the door slid open hesitantly.
“Back,” Naruto said in a hushed tone, barely above a whisper. He stepped into the room and shut the door behind him, his eyes not looking up to meet Sasuke’s once.
“Took you long enough, let’s get going. I don’t want to spend another minute in your body more than I have to,” The Uchiha sighed, the desperation apparent in his voice as he rose from the bed. Naruto managed a small nod as they both stepped out of the room.
“Also, keep in mind that if we interact with anybody, just make sure to act like me. Don’t embarrass me.”
“Don’t tempt me with a good time,” Naruto snickered, eliciting a grumble from the blond next to him. “Sure I could act like you, or maybe take my chance to make you the laughing stock of the village!”
“Idiot! Don’t you dare!”
Naruto simply shrugged and laughed at the expected reaction from Sasuke.
Walking side-by-side throughout the village, they kept their eyes peeled in search of Kakashi-sensei. So far, nobody had interacted with them, much to Naruto’s dismay.
“Naruto, Sasuke! Wait up!” A girl’s voice called out from behind them.
They froze. A sly grin crept up Naruto’s face as he turned to look at Sasuke. “Well, well, well,” he whispered playfully.
The blond elbowed Naruto’s ribs, his glare not faltering as he watched Naruto hold the area where he was hit. “Quiet.” Sasuke shot out, the other still groaning in pain.
The two turned around to see a familiar pink-haired girl running towards them with a basket in her hand. Sasuke didn’t believe in a higher power, but for the first time, he quietly prayed that Naruto wouldn’t mess this up.
Sasuke slightly raised his hand and mustered up the most Naruto-looking smile he could. “H-Hey, Sakura.”
“Eugh, what’s wrong with your face? Don’t do that.” Sakura raised a brow and gave him a concerned look.
Naruto snickered beside him, trying hard to keep in his giggles as Sasuke shot a glare at him.
“Okay, what’s going on? You’re both acting weird today…”
Sasuke frowned. Keeping up pretenses was incredibly hard, and Naruto wasn’t helping either with his pathetic attempts at hiding his giggling. It was all just a big joke to him.
“I think it’s all in your head, Sakura,” Naruto said, crossing his arms and giving her the darkest expression he could come up with, though his quivering lip wasn’t very convincing. “You sleep okay?”
Sakura’s eyes flickered between them and her mouth flattened into a line. “...Something’s wrong. What happened?” she asked, clearly unamused.
Sasuke and Naruto shot each other glances from the corner of their eyes. Damn Sakura for being smart…or they just weren’t good at pretending. Most likely the latter. Was it even worth keeping up the act in front of her? It clearly wasn’t working out anyway.
Naruto wasn’t impressed with the front they put on and was itching to run around the village doing things Sasuke normally wouldn’t do–the perfect prank! He was about to open his mouth before he was quickly interrupted.
Sasuke rested his hands behind his head and chuckled. “Hah, Naru- I mean, Sasuke’s just being an idiot as always.” His eyes narrowed at Naruto’s confused ones. “Right, Sasuke?” he said, with a hint of assertion laced in his voice.
The blond’s menacing eyes on the raven made him wince a little as he stepped back the tiniest amount. He looked back at Sakura before clearing his throat and contorting his face to form a scowl. “Look who’s talking, loser.”
“Bastard.”
Sakura narrowed her eyes at the suspicious pair, but decided to drop the topic with a shrug. “Well, anyways, I have some new food pills I’d like for you to try out, and you can’t say no!”
Synced groans came from the boys.
“Actually, Sakura, we’re trying to find Kakashi…sensei…have you seen him anywhere?” Sasuke asked, his fingers scratching the back of his neck to make the act more believable.
“It’s important.” The raven-haired boy added with a more serious tone.
“Kakashi-sensei? Oh, I was just with him. He was reading his dumb book as always.” Sakura rolled her eyes. Of course he was, the book was practically glued to his hands.
Sakura told them Kakashi’s location and they gave her a firm nod before stepping behind her.
“Wait, aren’t you gonna try my-”
“Sorry, Sakura, maybe next time!” Naruto yelled out as they both ran off, earning himself a glare for the out-of-character response.
Sakura could only stare with confusion plastered over her face as they disappeared into the crowd. Something was clearly wrong if the word “sorry” left from the raven’s lips…
Sasuke and Naruto made their way to the forest where Kakashi was resting. As they ran, Naruto glanced to his side and noticed the serious look on Sasuke’s face, sending chills through his body at the abnormality of the expression replacing his usual cheerful one. It was obvious Sasuke was over the whole thing and just wanted things to go back to normal. On the other hand, Naruto wasn’t in that much of a hurry to return. He liked being able to explore Sasuke’s body and find things he never knew about, oddly enough. It confused him too, but his curiosity pushed away any other thoughts.
Finally, they reached the forest and spotted Kakashi lying beneath the shade reading his book.
“Kakashi-sensei!” Naruto called out as they quickly approached.
“Sasuke? Naruto?” Kakashi looked up from his book. “Did something happen?”
“Yes!” Naruto stopped in front of the silver-haired man and leaned down to meet his uncovered eye. “You have to help us!”
“It must be something important if it’s made you start acting so strangely, Sasuke.” Kakashi raised a brow.
Naruto shook his head. “I’m Naruto! Sasuke and I switched bodies.” He crawled closer to Kakashi, but earned a hand to his face to stop him from getting too close.
“...What are you guys playing at?”
“He’s telling the truth.” Sasuke added, his voice coming out in a low tone that Naruto’s never spoken in. “We switched bodies somehow. It might have something to do with the mission from yesterday.”
“So, can you help us, Kakashi-sensei?”
The silver-haired ninja blinked a few times before relaxing his face, as if a light bulb had gone off in his head.
“Mhm… I could,” the masked man hummed. “Or, maybe this could serve as a learning experience for you two to learn more about each other’s bodies.”
The pair went wide-eyed at the implication.
“In the fighting sense, of course.” Kakashi smiled softly, his expression clear despite his covered face. “Who knows? Maybe this could be beneficial in the long run.”
“Y-You can’t be serious…!” Sasuke staggered. “I can’t go walking around in this idiot’s body!”
“Hey! What’s wrong with my body, huh?” Naruto shot back. “My body’s great! Way better than yours!”
Sasuke wrinkled his nose, a look of mixed frustration and confusion apparent on his face. “What could we possibly learn from this?!” His fists clenched beside his body.
He was right. What were they even supposed to discover? They already knew everything there was to know about each other, so what good would this do besides adding a layer of awkwardness over them? Naruto noticed Sasuke’s jaw tighten in irritation, his eyes dark as his figure loomed over his sensei. Naruto never realized his own body could look so intimidating, but here was Sasuke managing to pull off the impossible. The anger seeping from him only served to remind Naruto how out of place it was for him, and how fitting it was for Sasuke.
The masked man shrugged and directed his attention back to his book. “That’s up for you to decide. Now, if you don’t mind, I have a book to finish.”
With a poof, clouds appeared in front of the boys, and as soon as they cleared, Kakashi was gone.
Naruto’s eyes widened at the spot where Kakashi had been. “That good-for-nothing– Agh! Why is that stupid book more important than us?!” His grip on the grass tightened as he yelled out. The annoyance in his voice was clear, but a part of him was actually happy they could stay like this a while longer. He sighed and got on his feet.
He couldn’t say the same for Sasuke though… From where he was standing he could sense Sasuke’s gloom radiating from him.
“H-Hey, it’s no big deal, maybe he’ll help us tomorrow.” He placed a hand on Sasuke’s shoulder. “Let’s just go home.”
The boy glared at him before letting out a huff, not wanting to talk any further. He moved away from Naruto’s touch and started walking back, presumably to Sasuke’s house.
Fingers running through his dark hair, Naruto sighed. He knew what he was feeling was messed up. But even so… he wanted to learn more about Sasuke’s body–things that he kept hidden under the surface. Like, what were his most sensitive spots? Where was he most ticklish? He even wanted to make stupid impressions of Sasuke in front of the mirror. Things like that…
His thoughts trailed off and suddenly he was remembering how Sasuke’s voice sounded as he pleasured himself—how heavenly it was. Naruto could almost feel the skin beneath his fingertips now, reminding him how hot he felt during the moment.
Lost in his mind far too long, Sasuke called out and snapped him out of his trance. Naruto shook his head before trailing behind.
“I don’t understand why Kakashi wouldn’t just help us.” Sasuke paced the room, frustrated and confused. “And I don’t understand how you’re so calm right now!”
The raven on the bed shrugged for what felt like the thousandth time as he toyed with a kunai, spinning it around his finger repeatedly. The sun was already setting, and Sasuke was still complaining about something they wouldn’t be able to solve now.
“Jeez, can you shut up? You’ve been complaining, complaining, and complaining ever since we got back. You're gonna tire out my body,” Naruto groaned as he dropped the kunai off the bed.
“I’m pissed, I’m not gonna shut up!”
A small part of Naruto felt offended that Sasuke hated being in his body so much. It wasn’t that bad, right…?
Who was he kidding? Of course it was, and it made his blood boil.
A loud groan escaped from Naruto’s lips as he sat up on the bed. “You think my head doesn’t hurt just listening to you? What’s the big deal anyway?” He scratched the back of his head. “You scared I’ll see you naked? It’s not like I haven’t seen you a billion times already,” he snickered.
Sasuke turned to Naruto with an apprehensive look. “Tch. I’m not scared. I just don’t want you messing around.”
Naruto paused at his words. He’d completely forgotten about his plan to mess with Sasuke. His eyes lit up with motivation and a smirk formed on his face at the possibilities of what he could do.
Maybe this could be fun after all.
“Eh? Of course not, Sasuke. I know how serious this is.” He feigned innocence, earning a raised brow from the blond.
“Aside from that, don’t you think it’s a little hot in here? Phew!” Naruto wiped his forehead. “Think I’m gonna take off my shirt...” His voice dripping with mischief, his hands grabbed at the hem of his shirt and started pulling up.
Sasuke’s eyes widened. “What do you think you’re doing? Don’t!” He ran over to him and grabbed Naruto by his wrists.
“Let go! It’s hot as shit, I feel like I’m getting cooked alive!” he grunted, struggling against Sasuke’s grip. He managed to pull up the shirt even more, exposing his V-line and a small portion of his stomach.
“Like hell I will!”
The tug of war over the shirt slowly escalated into punches being thrown at each other–nothing too serious, of course. Naruto kicked at Sasuke’s stomach and gripped his face with fingers hooked into the corner of Sasuke’s mouth, while Sasuke yanked at Naruto’s hair with a good amount of force. Insults flew everywhere from their mouths, ranging from “dumbass” to “pervert”.
The sharp tug at his scalp made Naruto wince, prompting a swift kick to Sasuke’s chest, forcing a groan from his lips. And in just the blink of an eye, Sasuke went from being in front of Naruto to pinning him down, their faces mere inches from each other.
The fighting stopped, leaving only surprise lingering in the air. Their eyes widened as they stared into each other’s eyes, too frozen and speechless to say anything.
Naruto’s heart raced in his chest as Sasuke nearly pressed up against him, their breaths mingling in the close space. Despite how strange it was looking up at his own body, the fact that it was really Sasuke on top of him didn’t stop his cheeks from heating up.
Naruto opened his mouth to speak, but the instant he did, Sasuke seized the chance to pin Naruto’s arms above his head.
The raven’s mouth hung open slightly as he looked up with surprise and confusion, only to be met with dark cerulean eyes staring him down.
“I win,” the Uchiha said darkly, a smirk tugging at his lips. “So, are you finally gonna answer my question from this morning?”
What question?
From this morning?
…Oh.
If Naruto was mortified, he made sure not to show it. However, internally his heart dropped down to his ass. Turmoil stirred up in his stomach. His mouth dried up, his throat closed up, and the ringing in his ears drowned out everything around him.
Floating in the dark void of his mind, he could vaguely hear his name being called, but it wasn’t enough to pull him out of his thoughts. How the hell was he supposed to explain what was going through his head when he was touching himself? Even he didn’t know what happened. All he knew was that he lost himself after staring at his–Sasuke’s–reflection in the mirror, and then suddenly his hand was down his boxers when he awoke.
How would he explain that Sasuke made him feel more than just friendship? That the effect Sasuke had on him was like being under a trance? That whenever he passed by, he couldn’t help but notice his scent. His heart raced every time their eyes met, and his body heated up whenever their skin touched.
He was truly horrified, knowing Sasuke would eventually force out the truth from him.
Finally, a harsh SMACK on his cheek pulled him out of his mind.
“Naruto!” Sasuke yelled, frustrated. “What’s the matter with you? Answer me!” His grip on Naruto’s wrists tightened.
“Bastard, that hurt!”
“Answer me if you don’t want me to hit you again,” Sasuke deadpanned, sending shivers down Naruto’s spine.
“...It’s nothing.”
SMACK
“Tell me.”
The look Sasuke had remained unchanged, a stark contrast to the myriad of emotions flickering across Naruto’s face.
Naruto’s lip quivered and he turned his head away from Sasuke to avoid his harsh eyes. He murmured something under his breath that went unheard by the boy on top of him.
“What?” Sasuke leaned in closer to Naruto.
The raven grunted and sucked in a sharp breath before murmuring again.
“Just spit it out!”
“I- Dammit- I like you, okay?!” Naruto yelled, an angry look on his face as he spilled his guts. “Happy now?!
Sasuke stared at him wide-eyed. “Y-You, what?”
“You deaf or something?” he growled. “I like you, and I don’t mean like ‘friends’–I mean in that… way…”
With his eyes closed, Naruto felt the grip on his wrists loosen and the weight on his body shift. When he slowly opened his eyes, he saw Sasuke sitting next to him, his back turned with his face hidden from view. Naruto bit his lip, his breath catching in his chest as he waited for Sasuke’s response–if there was one.
He waited and waited, but nothing came. He was frustrated at the lack of response from the boy next to him. If Sasuke wasn’t going to do anything, then it was his turn to force something out of him.
He took a deep breath and gathered his courage.
“Sasuke.”
No response.
“Look at me,” he said firmly, no hint of hesitance in his voice. “Please.”
Sasuke’s body tensed. Seconds passed before the blankets shifted underneath him as he began to turn around slowly.
Naruto could hear his heart pounding in his ears, each beat getting impossibly louder as he mentally prepared himself for what he was about to do.
When Sasuke finally turned around enough to face him, Naruto leaned in. He placed a hand over Sasuke’s eyes, and with a soft and deliberate movement, Naruto placed a tender kiss on his lips. Closing his own eyes, he imagined he was kissing Sasuke in his own body.
He loved the feeling of their lips together and let the moment stretch out, savoring the connection as much as possible, trying to print the feeling in his memory. To him, the whole world seemed to fade away.
But when his lips lingered on Sasuke’s and he showed no sign of returning the kiss, staying frozen in place instead, Naruto’s heart sank.
A drop of sweat rolled down Naruto’s neck as he pulled away, removing his hand from Sasuke's face. Without giving him a second to react, Naruto grabbed Sasuke by his wrists and pushed him down onto the bed and pinned him under his body. He buried his face in the crook of his neck, seeking comfort and closeness despite the unresolved tension.
“I like you.” Naruto exhaled.
“I know.”
“A lot.”
“I know.”
“...What about you?” Naruto swallowed nervously.
“Use that head of yours. Are you really going to make me say it?”
Naruto leaned back, offended. “Hey!” His mouth opened to mouth more insults, but when he noticed the flush of pink coating Sasuke’s cheeks and the look of flustered surprise on his face, he paused. This was the first time he’d ever seen Sasuke react like this to anything. It made Naruto feel warm inside, knowing he finally got to witness a side of Sasuke nobody’s ever seen before.
A moment of silence passed with Naruto studying Sasuke’s expression and carving it into his mind until the sound of throat clearing snapped him out of his thoughts.
“How long are you going to keep staring at me?”
“Oh, uh, sorry…” Onyx eyes looked away in embarrassment.
So… He didn’t actually know what he was going to do beyond this point. After all, part of him thought Sasuke wouldn’t return his feelings and would instead deliver a blow to his stomach.
He dropped his head back into the crook of the blond’s neck and gave his hand a light squeeze.
“I really wanna kiss you…” Naruto confessed. “But, it’s not the same if it’s not really you.”
He felt Sasuke’s body tense underneath him before humming a reply. His reaction made a thought cross through Naruto’s mind… Now he had a way to mess with the Uchiha without involving fights or insults. Just the mere idea of it made his body heat up…so he decided to test it out.
With soft and warm lips, he pressed a gentle kiss on Sasuke’s neck, along his pulse. Naruto moved his free hand slowly up his chest and stopped right above his heart.
“Hey- Wait…”
Naruto noted the tension in Sasuke’s voice as a result. That, and how he felt his heart speed up from just a tiny peck. He knew how much he was affecting Sasuke, and he was addicted to it.
He wanted to keep going, to keep chasing that feeling with so much intensity that it felt like he might die, but that didn’t mean he was going to overstep any boundaries. For now, that one reaction would have to suffice until they returned to their respective bodies.
Every fiber in his body screamed at him not to do so, to maintain the close contact, but instead he hummed and crawled off to slump next to Sasuke. He bit his lip and started playing with a loose thread on his shirt to ease his nerves.
Naruto glanced to his side to see a pair of cerulean eyes staring at him with embarrassed, yet soft, eyes. Even if those weren’t Sasuke’s true eyes, Naruto could feel the raw emotions overflowing from them.
A hand came to rest on top of Naruto’s, and his heart skipped a beat. “Naruto, I…” Sasuke sighed. “Like you said, it’d be weird if we did anything right now.”
True, but it didn’t stop Naruto from feeling dejected.
“If I’m going to kiss you, I want to kiss you, not my body,” Sasuke whispered softly.
Naruto gave a small smile and turned his body to face him. He placed a hand on Sasuke’s cheek and caressed it with his thumb.
“Yeah.”
They peered into each other’s eyes, not needing to use words to know what the other was feeling. Those eyes that belonged to Naruto would feel so foreign, yet so familiar and enticing the more he drowned in them. He couldn’t look away, and he didn’t want to either…
One little kiss wouldn’t hurt, right?
Naruto felt his body slowly inching forward. He met the blond halfway and waited for him to meet the other half. Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait that long.
Their lips pressed together, so sweet and lovingly. Sasuke’s lips were soft and warm as they moved languidly against his own. The hand resting on his would release its grip to move up his body and stop above his heart. Naruto knew how fast it was beating just from being this close to Sasuke, and he wanted him to know it too—how Sasuke was always responsible for the drumming in his chest.
Naruto’s hand found its way to cup the nape of Sasuke’s neck, eliciting a soft gasp from him. But before they could go any further, they broke apart, almost reluctantly. The loss of warmth on his lips made his body shiver and he immediately wanted to get that feeling back.
They remained close enough for their breaths to mingle with each other, coming down from the heat of the kiss. Naruto saw the way Sasuke looked at him, with so much love in them, but also with the desperation to keep going, but knowing it wasn’t possible.
“Sas-“
“That’s all you’re getting…” Sasuke glanced away, his cheeks flushed.
The raven frowned. “I wanna do it again,” he said firmly.
“Tomorrow.”
“But-“
“Tomorrow!”
Naruto clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. “Fine…” he grumbled.
Behind him, the pink and yellow hues of the setting sun had shifted into a dark blue sky. Sasuke noticed the darkness outside and sighed, reluctantly parting from Naruto’s embrace. “Come on, grab some pajamas and get dressed,” Sasuke said, his tone soft but firm as he turned to the closet.
“Does this mean we can sleep together?”
“Did you say it like that on purpose, or are you just an idiot?” the Uchiha glared daggers at him, his eyes narrowing in irritation and embarrassment.
“Hey! It’s not my fault you took it that way!” Naruto shot back, his voice tinged with defensive frustration as he crossed his arms and stuck out his tongue.
Even after sharing a tender, romantic moment, the pair fell back into their usual bickering. The playful banter flowed naturally, as if what had just happened didn’t shift anything in their relationship. Naruto’s childish protests were met with Sasuke’s sharp insults, both of them trying to have the last word. But beneath these teasing words, there was a newfound warmth–a subtle but undeniable connection that lingered between them. Despite everything, some things were bound to never change, and that comforting familiarity only served as a reminder of how deeply intertwined their lives already were.
