Chapter Text

"She needs help!" Fwhip explained to no one. He was mumbling to himself as he walked along his path in the Grimlands, "Why is she acting like its fine to be frozen?!" He growled and crossed his arms.

"And Scott?! What is wrong with him?! Why would Gem even trust him!" He continued rambling about this entire situation. He didnt want Gem to be hurt.

"How does he even know how to do magic?! Gems been practicing for years! I didnt know elves even knew how to to magic." He walked inside his house and grabbed his newly made bow, "He has to have a source.. some kind of source.. and then I will remove it! Remove him if hes the source!" He smiled and loaded his bow, making sure it worked. He debated on telling Sausage, but it was his own situation.

He would greet Scott in a nice manner, maybe even invite him to dinner. Then he would slay him right then and there. Poison, murder, anything that he can thing of. Its not well thought out, but maybe if Scott, or his source, is gone, all his magic will go away with it! Then Gem would feel better.

Proud of his plan, he left to fly towards Rivendell. He wasnt sure how long its been, but hes sure Scott was there. He had to be. He flew over Crystal Cliffs, slightly looking down. He hoped Gem was okay. He noved his gaze in front of him when he almost crashed into a mountain. He continued flying until he made it to Rivendell.

He landed in the town and looked around for Scott. He didnt see him so he continued looking around. If Scott, for some reason, wasnt here, he would have to place a trap somewhere. As he explored the entire place, he saw nothing of Scott.

He didnt see any source of magic, though. That meant Scott had to be the source.

He started setting up traps everywhere. Explosions and falling floors were the main traps he used. It wasnt hard to find places. He set five tnt minecarts under his door. Pressure plates had tnt as well. Under his carpet was a massive hole, some gravel as well.

After a million traps designed to kill the elf, he felt proud with himself. He planted a salmon in the ground, “You will be telling me everything Scott Smajor says!” He smiled before flying off again.

He flew past Mythland and was stopped by the king shouting for him. He stopped in the air to look down at him before gliding to the ground. He landed in front of Sausage and was immediately pulled into a hug.

“Fwhip! Its been a few days! How are you doing?” The other said, smiling.

“Its been.. fine. How about you? How are you?” Fwhip responded, letting his wings rest. Maybe he should tell Sausage about Gem. It wouldnt hurt to let him know.

“Im great!” Sausage smiled. He was always in such a cheery mood. “What were you doing?”

“I was visiting Scott.” Visiting was one way to put it. “Probably going to kill him.” He mumbled, then started thinking about the traps. Was there too many? Too less? Were they even going to kill him? He hopes they leave a scar.

“Why?!” Sausage snapped Fwhip out of his thoughts. He stared at the dragonborn in concern, “Did he do something?!”

“He hurt Gem.”

“HE HURT GEM??” Sausage immediately snapped back, “Why- How?!”

“He froze her.” Fwhip slightly mumbled his words. They were loud enough to hear, he just didnt want to have this conversation.

“When?!” Sausages eyes werent cheery anymore. They were sad.

“Uh.. a few days ago? Im not sure. She never told me. I saw her, though.” Fwhip frowned. Now hes wondering how long it was. Did she not trust him? Why didnt she tell him?

“You should kill him!!” Sausage, again, took Fwhip out of his thoughts. He was genuinely concerned.

“I know.. Im trying. I was heading over to her empire to see how she was doing. Want me to let you know?” Fwhips wings spread out, ready to fly.

“Yes, please! Give her hot chocolate and blankets, and warm stuff!” Sausage nodded as he spoke.

“I will.” He smiled weakly before flying off.

He landed in Crystal Cliffs and immediately started looking for Gem. His eyes laid upon her house. He walked towards it and went inside, “Gem? You home?” He called out, still walking. He made it to her room and saw her sat down at her desk, seemingly reading a book.

He furrowed his brow and tried to get a look at what she was reading, but she shut the book closed when he got near. It wasnt a fast movement, but it seemed like she was trying to move quickly.

“Gem?” He called again. This time she looked back at him. She looked cold and sick. Her skin was pale and it seemed like she was forcing herself not to shake. He reached to grab her hand but she yanked back.

“Hi, Fwhip!” She smiled. It was weak. He could tell. “Back already? You were only gone for a few hours..” She chuckled nervously. It was more of a ‘did I get caught’ kind of chuckle?

“Uh, yeah.” He narrowed his eyes, “I just wanted to see if you were okay.” He tried to feel her skin again but she wouldnt let him. She was hiding something, he knew.

“Yeah! I told you already, Im okay.” Her voice was quivering and you can tell her hands were trembling. She was freezing. She had to be.

“Maybe you should be in a warmer biome. You can stay with Pix? Or maybe you can stay with me if you want? Its warmer than the mountains.” His expression soften. He didnt want her to freeze to death. It went unsaid, but she knew thats what he thought.

“Fwhip, Im okay. Im not that cold anymore! Im just studying, planning on practicing some more magic. Maybe some different kinds.” She was trying to change the subject.

He sighed, he knew he wouldnt get to her by conversation, “Go to Katherine. She heals stuff, right?”

“Yeah.. plants.”

“Please, Gem. Go to Katherine. You need help. Promise you will go to Katherine?” He crossed his arms and his wings tensed up, waiting for an answer.

“Right. I promise.” She smiled and hugged him, immediately sending him into shivers. She was cold, really cold.

“Go whenever you can..” He mumbled and pulled away, “But please go quick.” He stretched out his wings.

“I will. I promise.”

“You better.” He very lightly punched her shoulder and smiled before leaving. Walking away, he noticed she had frost on her hands. She would be fine, she promised she would get help. She wouldnt lie to him.
