LILITH’S POV
All her life, Lilith was driven.
As a shining example of the definition, Lilith would be known as the tenacious free-spirit who never hesitated on fighting for what’s hers. People were either intimidated or jealous - or in some cases, both. Not at any time had it deterred the brilliant Lilith from her goals despite those who tried but failed, and in actuality, encouraged the woman to continue her path. The passionate personality, which chased many [and there were many] weak minded people out of her way, had remarkably attracted Lucifer Morningstar in her world. And he was absolutely not what she had expected.
Years ago at her intern job, she had met the man in passing. It was a simple drop off of legal paperwork and coffee to her colleague’s office, the one training Lilith at the time, and he happened to be sitting in the clientele seat for a private meeting. It was only a minute in the room for her, but when Lucifer confessed later in the years, it felt like time had frozen for him when first seeing Lilith. A little regret ate at her when she would recollect the first impression of Lucifer, the memory serving nothing worth of mention besides his endearing, rosy cheeks and obvious staring.
Can't blame the woman for being in work mode at work.
Regardless, he was sure to repair the initial impression immediately after she left the room, the interaction forming as an unforgettable memory.
He nearly tripped on his rush need of reaching her, the man just barely up to her chest after he righted himself. Lilith was a taller woman in general, so it was no surprise she had some height on him, however Lilith realized she towered over him when he got within arms length.
“Excuse me,” he nervously started, fiddling a little with his fingers and acting guilty. It was cute, she had noted. “I'm sorry for my rudeness earlier.”
Lilith tilted her head, an eyebrow arching in curiosity; however by the way he was fumbling, she could safely assume Lucifer took her expression more as mild annoyance. “I-I had no intentions to make you feel uncomfortable, especially at your eork place. I just…” he paused, Lilith’s unbroken gaze literally watching him think his next words with such delicacy and carefulness. “I just couldn't help being starstruck by your beauty and…”
Then the blond man proceeded to trail off, his cobalt pools locking onto her soft, lavender eyes when he fell back into a trance. Call her vain or whatever, Lilith knew she was an attractive person with the long blonde hair and oval face, however she never had met someone who literally got awestruck in mid conversation with her. It was a new experience for the woman, where the past exchanges were either her being cat-called about her body, given an unnecessary suggestion for modesty, or a jealous backhanded compliment. It was oddly refreshing and somewhat rattled Lilith with how butterflies flooded her senses. She bashfully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before blushing away, snapping the Morningstar man out from his daze.
“Oh shit! I'm sorry again! I didn't mean to stare like a creep!”
A little scattered brain, yes. But a creep? He was anything but that. Evidently, he's been apologizing for something he did no wrong in and she internally deemed him a gentleman for expressing any concern. An adorable one, in fact, as she took the moment to observe the rambling stranger and his handsome features just before she giggled.
“You’re fine,” Lilith assured him, not missing his heavy sigh of relief, “You could say I was taken back by your statement. But, thank you for sharing it with me, sir.”
The reassurance granted Lucifer a chance to replace uncertainty with renewed vigor, his grin no doubt making a formidable opponent against the brilliance of the sun and Lilith’s stomach flipping at the sight. “Sir? Ah, where are my manners?” A hand pressed against his chest and the other behind his back when he slightly bowed forward, never letting her gaze go despite his earlier jitters getting the best of him. “The name is Lucifer.”
The fresh wave of sudden confidence almost gave Lilith whiplash. Although her heartbeat jumped at the olden etiquette with glee, she refrained from revealing it by following up a professional curtsy in her knee-length pencil skirt. Lilith had to mentally remind herself she was at work even if an attractive, short man had distracted her and made the expectedly composed woman rather disorganized on the fact ten minutes had gone by without her being bored or annoyed.
“Mine is Lilith. Please meet your acquaintance, Lucifer,” and out of social obligations, she happily reached out for a handshake in which he returned, very eagerly she might have noticed. “Will I be seeing you around the office more often?”
Because if so, Lilith had no qualms against his possibility as a new client at her internship. Something about him made her feel at ease [and yeah, she could’ve been biased because of his compliment, but it really was more than the praise alone holding her]. Lilith just couldn’t place a name to it - a name for why she had not freed his hand even well after the handshake was exchanged nor when those dazzling, sky-blue eyes had her incapable of looking away.
“Would… you like to see me, Lilith?”
When her name tumbled off his lips in the deep, low timbre she just learned he could produce [and did not hate], Lilith barely read how his soft gaze peered into her own, searching. Hope had bled out so loudly into Lilith, she became a little overwhelmed and slowly released their ‘handshake’, unknowingly sapping the courage from Lucifer. She was so wrapped up on how to push her nerves down, she missed the flash of rejection on his face and was confused when he began apologizing a second time.
“Again, I'm being inappropriate and placing you in an awkward situation,” his rambling started once more. “I'm sorry for this, Lilith. I'm usually not this crass. Honest! I-”
Lilith held up a hand and he instantly shut his mouth with a snap, appearing so thankful for her interruption rather than peeved. Usually, it was the opposite with people in an office setting.
“You’ve done nothing wrong,” stated Lilith and the subtle relaxation in his shoulders was obvious. If her looks alone made him so frazzled, she wondered how he would deal with her personality. Could he handle her wit unlike most people? Or would he bitterly bite back or run away with his tail tucked between his legs? His introduction had revealed a side of him which had brought so many reactions inside the woman, so it made sense on how her curiosity eventually won out about testing the theory on Lucifer.
“Well, not yet.”
Her sly smile curved her mouth and Lilith daringly tapped a finger to his nose as to tease him a little more, bent at her hips to reach his eye level. They were closer, yet with enough room deemed appropriate for ‘acquaintances’, meaning Lilith saw the whole blush engulf his face and ears the instant he processed it all. Albeit Lucifer’s entirety had replicated the same color of his dots, Lilith internally cheered when he cleared his throat to regain some composure and bravely challenged her back with a slick smirk of his own. The sight of it had pleasurable chills run up her spine and Lilith repressed them to the best of her ability while holding her heat down from her cheeks.
“Key word being yet.”
Lilith, swinging herself upright in hopes of the extra space cooling her face down, only grew hotter by how glued she was on his addictive, sapphire gaze. “Can’t blame a lady for being too careful around-”
“A devilishly handsome gentleman?” he quipped playfully, puffing out his chest and flipping his white button up collar around his neck. “I know. I hear they could be… troublemakers.”
Ah. He knew he was easy on the eyes. And despite it, Lilith felt no arrogance or cockiness. Only simple pride stating the truth. Also, his comical theatrics added levity to what would be seen more as a presumptuous statement and instead made it a valid, enticing trait Lilith admired in Lucifer.
She barely kept her laugh behind her hand, a habit Lilith had due to the professional setting they were in. A few seconds passed and she straightened herself, the woman glancing at the hallway clock.
“You’ll definitely get me in trouble if I don’t get back to work,” she turned halfway on her heels, unfortunately indicating the end of their fun conversation. Ready to bid him goodbye, Lucifer reached out, barely holding her wrist as a thrilling sensation spread through her from the simple, feather-like touch. Their gazes hooked on each other for a moment, the thick tension and smouldering heat filling the hallway.
“You never answered my question.”
Lilith blinked, waiting for the electrifying buzz to wade away inside her brain so that she could remember his previous inquiry. Longer than she liked, Lilith stood there, feeling like an idiot for how it took her a whole minute for her jumbled thoughts to organize themselves and for how Lucifer’s coy smile caused her cheeks to bloom red at the embarrassing scene.
“Oh,” Lilith forced a breath out with some recollection and nothing more, stuck on how his one thumb absentmindedly circled the back of her wrist. She was flabbergasted, a feat in itself because Lilith rarely ever became tongue tied. Lilith initiated pretty much every conversation and if not, she would at least gain dominance of them.
Yet there was an alluring man named Lucifer who had successfully brought Lilith’s reign of control out from under her.
Anyone else, she would’ve been distraught and agitated.
Exclusively with Lucifer, Lilith was electrified and captivated.
It had every fiber in her body tingle, relishing whatever Lucifer had undone in her. The sensation flooded Lilith’s being in the most bewitching way and all she knew at the moment was being intoxicated by Lucifer’s charm.
His question- no - offer then became top priority in Lilith's psyche, her job duties all thrown aside when she replayed the emotions Lucifer had stirred inside her. Lilac eyes traveled from his hand and up to the handsome face, all patience emanating through his gaze. Those beautiful, cobalt eyes were filled with yearning - similar to which Lilith expressed back although she had not known it at the time.
“Lucifer, was it?”
He nodded; listening, waiting - wanting.
Lilith, the heat of his hand burning so deliciously, squeezed back without wasting another second.
“I would be insane not to.”
And since then, they became inseparable.
Lilith’s commitment with Lucifer had driven her to love someone she never knew would challenge her person and affections. The striving nature always scared potential partners away but Lucifer - oh, he took her head on. In fact, he relished Lilith and the strong personality [both in and out of bed]. There were incidents in her relationship where she feared him leaving her because of how… ‘bossy’ she would act; how she was always chasing for what she wanted.
Eleven years later and Lilith knew better not to second guess. He was completely and utterly in love with her. And he indefinitely was the more public person with announcing his feelings whereas Lilith hid more from prying eyes on how devastatingly lost in love she was with him.
How could she not be?
Lucifer Morningstar was the most gentle, affectionate, beautiful, and creative soul ever to have graced another, especially Lilith’s. One time in the earlier years of marriage, she was very drunk and shared how lucky she was that he settled for her when he could have anyone in the world. Upon hearing such a confession, Lucifer was downright offended Lilith believed those thoughts inside her. It was a rare moment when she voiced such insecurities, and of course just as she deemed the title on the first day meeting him, Lucifer remained the gentleman in squashing any negative thoughts about her.
“My Lily. Any person would be honored to have you as their partner. Don’t ever believe you are not worthy of love, especially of mine. You are my wife, my soulmate. I’m honored you chose me out of the entire world. You have absolutely no clue how lucky I am wearing this ring with you, Lilith.”
So fucking lost. Completely and shamelessly will Lilith ever remain ruined by her love for him. And how addictive it felt everyday to be undone by a single emotion since meeting Lucifer.
That man supported her and adored her endlessly. It made their relationship reach heights which were only seen in those Hollywood films - unachievable and unrealistic.
But this was Lilith.
Anything named impossible, she made it possible. It brought the best out of her and her partner. So even with how in love they were, Lilith knew they could test it and grow from the experience. Three years back, she mentioned the idea of swinging to her husband and as usual, he never denied her. He was just as open minded as her and believed nothing but good would come from it.
He was absolutely right.
There was something thrilling about sharing each other, but still keeping that emotional connection as their own. It wasn’t done as much as movies depicted, only choosing maybe two to three people/couples in the year, max. They both never needed nor searched for it because the urge had to come naturally, so they were more casual in the culture than others.
Importantly with the Morningstar couple, there are two necessities when choosing an extra person or two for their shared intimacy.
First was the immediate physical attraction.
So when Lilith spotted Eve, it hit her like a ton of bricks. Almost as if a curtain was drawn up on a stage to reveal the headliner of a show and that exhilarating, pent up adrenaline in her body finally burst the flood gates, coursing through her veins and heat pooling down to her toes.
The scene of the thicker blonde by the pool side was so serene and pure, the moon’s rays catching her ethereal innocence in an enchanting way had Lilith gulp in lieu of wetting her dry throat.
Lilith wanted her. And her husband knew it instantly when the tall wife of his froze in her path.
Then that brings to the second important step in choosing people - Chemistry.
She needed some connection to continue on. Just pure physical attraction didn’t get Lilith far. It helped, but it’s just meaningless sex without that line hooking them together. And luckily for Lilith, she had an affinity with people and was observant to their true selves or intentions. She even honed the skill in Lucifer, the addition easier in aiding them for potential swingers or those who could be open to the idea.
Lucifer was ready to perform his part, but by the looks of the assumed husband of the woman she desired, it was safe to say he was the ‘pants’ of the relationship, like Lilith. She took the lead and switched it up, which Lucifer had no problem adapting to. Sometimes she believed he’s too good to be true or he spoiled her way too much [it was both - Lucifer would have admitted].
Men like Adam were easy to persuade about getting with a confident woman like Lilith. She knew she had a killer body. Vain thinking but blame her husband who always told her when she had doubts. He fed the compliments and Lilith had an inkling of the truth behind it because he was so prideful about having a sexy wife to boast about to people. She would call him arrogant, but that’s calling the kettle black since she had a beautifully handsome man to showcase as her husband.
As phone number was given, the paper bait left when Lilith's curious impatience got the best of her and she swapped spots with Lucifer. It was up to her man to strike out any doubts from Adam; to have him take the napkin and mull about it. And with his impervious charm, Lilith saw the plinking of glasses and was proud. She always knew he wouldn’t fail her.
Lilith, albeit keeping her distance from Eve, returned her attention back to the gorgeous wife.
“Ever heard of swingers, my dear Eve?”
The woman was regaining her composure from the close proximity Lilith imposed before, allowing the time to think before saying anything else. “Don’t they swap partners? For a one night stand with someone else?”
Lilith pursed her lips, tapping them. “If you put it in that simplistic way, yes, you’re right.”
A purposeful beat past, Lilith finishing off her glass when Eve finally spoke up. “How come you ask?” At the corner of her lilac eyes, she observed the woman twiddled her thumbs above the waterline and curiosity rolled off in small waves like the little ripples of the bubbling hot tub.
“How do you feel about them? About the shameless switch of partners?”
Eve tilted her head, thinking before just answering. It was a good sign she didn't throw an opinion out right away. Those who did so were the ones which held ignorant comments and assumptions. The seconds ticked by, Lilith battling her impatience with hope, searching the unaware prey of attraction ions for any tells. But a bubble pop later, Eve shrugged her shoulders and locked eyes, gentle and unbiased.
“It’s their business. Who am I to judge?”
Unbridled excitement had bursted inside the older blonde and it was getting hard to hold back any obvious sign the answer was exactly going in the direction of what Lilith was looking for before leaning forward. Noses bumped and she gazed into those wide, chocolate-brown eyes, narrowing her lustful gaze.
"Then how about shamelessly switching with me sometime soon?”
A minute went by. Then another.
“H-huh!?”
The woman practically full bloom red from head to toe, combusting. She was stuttering incoherently, whether from embarrassment or awkwardness or both. Lilith had to hold her tongue from teasing, a force of habit she developed when she had Lucifer all tongue tied like Eve was then. “W-wait… you’re a-a swi-”
“Swinger. Yes, my dear.” The woman blinked, looking back and forth between her and the men. “Lucifer as well. And I’m looking to trade him for you.”
With that said, Lilith waved her husband over, and Lucifer had Adam come as well. Eve was flabbergasted, completely stunned, but a small smile told Lilith she wasn’t offended. So when Adam came in earshot with Lucifer, she asked in the night of the pool life, her hands on Eve's shoulders.
“Adam, sir, may I have the honor of fucking your gorgeous wife senseless one evening?”
Lucifer pressed his mouth into a forced smile so hard until his hand pinched the bridge of his nose. “Real subtle, Lilith.”
She only battled her eyelashes out of innocence, awaiting for her answer. Lilith had a good feeling they may be up to it, with how their opinions of swingers were left in a more positive light in their forethoughts.
Adam brows were higher than ever, the man stunned in time. Lucifer kindly nudged the man with an elbow and it knocked him out of his stupor. “Uh, hold on. That’s hot, but…” he trailed off, Lilith observing him look down at Eve, who was silent and shyly watching the ripples of the hot tub jets swish by. They were both at a loss it seemed.
Lucifer took a step between the silence, a hand out for Eve to take. She slowly did, Lilith pouting at how her husband whisk away her new friend. “Sorry for my wife. She can be a bit… assertive when she wants something.”
“No need to apologize for me,” Lilith mumbled, quickly following them out and lingered behind her short husband, having him act as a barrier between her and the other woman she desired. He nervously rubbed the back of his head and Lilith knew better not to push more and instead gestured out to Eve. “I can’t help it. Your wife is breathtaking.”
“Hey I thought I was,” Lucifer light heartedly interrupted, earning a pinched cheek which had him weakly whine. What an arrogant man, Lilith chuckled in her thoughts. Then after the little abuse, she took both of her arms and wrapped them loosely around his shoulders and neck, peering down just as he gazed up, the woman easily lost in the oceans that reflected his beautiful soul.
Damn, he was so breathtaking.
But Lilith prevented on expressing it. Well atleast verbally. Yet Lucifer’s confident smirk glided on his face, spilling the fact she had failed in hiding it on her own.
The unplanned exchange probably helped ease the tension of embarrassment and shock for the couple that Adam cleared his throat to break it up. “We are flattered, really,” his arm pulled Eve into his side who was blushing mad still but nodding to his words. “I have your number so give us time to discuss so we can give you a proper answer. How long are you here for?”
“Two weeks. You?” Lucifer replied.
“We have until mid next week. Gotta get back to the kids.”
Lilith perked up. Lucifer felt it and squeezed her hand. “No rush. If you can’t respond before then, we’re not going to hold it against you.”
Eve finally spoke up, looking at the Morningstar wife which had her hopeful. “We’ll give you one before we leave.”
Lilith's heart sore.
