Sage Harpuia made his way down the training grounds towards the Strong Air Battalion. He had received a report from Aztec Falcon that during the pursuit of the rebels in the underground, their Pantheon guards simply…disappeared.
For an entire squadron of Pantheons to disappear…
…it was hard to believe the rebellion had such an ability to cause that kind of nuisance. Most of the rebels were extremely weak, and he found it extremely hard to believe that Ciel would develop a weapon of mass destruction.
“...heh heh heh heh…”
Harpuia’s head snapped to the side upon hearing a low chuckle…where had that come from?
“.....heh heh heh heh…”
There it was again. It sounded like a reploid voice…he couldn’t tell if it was male or female…it was rather nasally. Harpuia narrowed his eyes and reached up to rest his hand on the hilt of one of his sheathed sabers.
…surely an enemy couldn’t enter Neo Arcadia…right?
“Ahh, Commander Harpuia!”
The Air Commander flinched only briefly when his name was called and he glanced over his shoulder, seeing Hellbat Schilt walking through the gardens with what looked like a human doctor by his side.
“I was not expecting you to be in the gardens today”
Harpuia was silent for a moment, looking away from the judge and his companion. He had SWORN he had heard a sinister chuckle…was his mind simply playing tricks on him or something?
Shaking his head, the Air Commander turned to face the judge and the human, placing his hands behind his back and straightening professionally. He glanced towards Schilt’s companion…a female human with golden blonde hair and shining emerald eyes. She had a gentle smile on her face and had bowed her head very slightly towards Harpuia in greeting.
“I was merely returning to my own battalion,” Harpuia replied evenly towards the judge, before turning his attention towards the young doctor, bowing his head respectfully. “Good morning miss.”
“Good Morning Commander Harpuia,” The young blonde greeted him pleasantly.
“Commander we are having one of our most experienced medical scientists from the city join our medical team today. This is Doctor Hex from the emergency ‘B’ team of Neo Arcadia’s hospital.” Hellbat Schlit motioned towards the doctor.
Hex once again bowed very slightly. “It’s an honor to make your acquaintance, Commander Harpuia. I look forward to working well with you and the Guardians.”
Harpuia looked stunned for a moment at that last statement, before he shot Judge Schlit with a look. “...A human should not be among our ranks. It’s far too dangerous. Our medical team deals with far too many deadly weapons…”
“You misunderstand, Commander.” Hellbat Schilt put up a hand. “Doctor Hex is here as a medical scientist. She will be mostly advising and treating internal wounds. Master X will not allow her to deal with any reploid systems that involve heavy explosives or weapons.”
Harpuia slowly nodded and looked towards Hex…
…he hadn’t recalled ever seeing a doctor like her on their city’s census before…someone as gorgeous as her would have caught his attention on that report…
…perhaps it had been an oversight…
Bowing his head again, Harpuia offered Hex a smile. “I look forward to seeing what you can do for us, Doctor. Your kindness and loyalty to Neo Arcadia is greatly appreciated.”
Hex smiled gently. “I intend to give my very best for the city, Commander Harpuia.”
Harpuia bowed once again, before excusing himself and walking past the Judge and the Doctor.
As the group separated, a lone figure watched the happenings, lounging back on a tree branch and snickering very lightly.
Peacock had his legs crossed as he sat in the branches, his back leaned up against the trunk of the tree. He casually sipped on a martini and smirked wickedly as he watched his changes playing out.
“I didn’t think I could mix in original creations into the code…heh heh heh…this is making the game FUN again!”
Snickering, Peacock disappeared from sight.
