Work Text:
Both bodies roll around the couch, uneasy hands running through everything they could touch. Sunghoon pulls away, staring down at peach toned cheeks and amber eyes who looked right back at him.
How did they end up like this, anyway?
It started off gentle. Morning coffee placed on the countertop, walking to class together, loud noon laughter. Before Sunoo could notice, Sunghoon installed his presence all over his life.
They would make plans and spend time together, play games, watch cartoons, even cook together. The two of them spent so much time in each other's company, it became routine.
Of course, with it came the weird tension, an awkward restlessness although feeling so comfortable around each other. Sunghoon would pick on Sunoo who would get sulky and give them a reason to bicker all day long. This is just who they are.
On this particular night, they put on a movie that had just come out and Sunoo really wanted to watch, but insisted he couldn't do so alone because it would be pitiful.
Both did pay attention at first, but after some random comments and jokes, they were found laughing way too loud.
Sunoo bent forward, clapping after a light slap on Sunghoon’s shoulder. He had a big smile, sparkly eyes and tears rolling down his face.
Those expressions were hard to ignore, and Sunghoon – unfortunately, at least for him – agreed. He stared in awe, a grin across his lips as he giggled along.
He wouldn't be in his right mind if he missed how Sunoo’s big lashes twinkled due to the happy dripplets, contrasting with the pinkish color spread around his cheeks, and how his fluffy red hair poked his eyes every time he curled his body to laugh.
“I really want to kiss you.” Sunghoon let out, bluntly.
His entire body froze when he realized what had just came out of his mouth, and he felt like he had willingly thrown himself into the fire. Fuck.
Sunoo’s laughter died down, face taken by confusion and followed by a smaller, gentle smile. “What?”
This is weird. I don’t know why I said that, I’m sorry, was what he wanted to reply. But Sunoo was too close and looked too pretty. Now or never, it is.
“Can I?” Although acting confident, he unconsciously held his breath.
He then watched as Sunoo switched on his seat, their knees brushing as he turned to face him on the couch.
“Go on,” He says, soft tone. “Kiss me.”
Swallowing down the long apology he had been rehearsing, yet again, Sunghoon stares. He would expect the younger to laugh mockingly, mumbling “What are you talking about…” so he would brush it off as a joke.
But Sunoo never fails to amaze him, and his upfront reaction reinforced that.
Sunghoon leans in, trying not to make a fuss. Not that it was an easy task, plus he did not succeed.
His shaky breath made itself noticeable as his eyes ran through the boy’s face, who stared back with an unreadable look. The smile wasn't there anymore either.
Sunoo hadn't moved an inch, and at that point his eyes started to look challenging. He shivers when their noses touch slightly, a silent scream cutting throughout his thoughts and telling him it was all too risky.
But when their lips touch, he feels like he can face every dangerous game imaginable.
Plump red lips melt onto his, a light sigh coming out of Sunoo when he pulls away for a second, cupping Sunghoon’s face with both hands before bending in for another kiss.
All of this was a little while ago. In the blink of an eye, they couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
The contact sent goosebumps through each of their bodies, a faint cry coming out of Sunoo as Sunghoon licked his lower lip, wet noises filling the room.
The brunette lets out a muffled sigh, soft thumbs running back and forth on his cheekbones. His entire body felt like it could explode into confetti any time.
Sunoo attempts to slip his tongue inside Sunghoon’s mouth, who promptly allows him with an excited smirk.
Somewhere in between sloppy kisses, Sunghoon pulls away, panting in unison with the shorter boy.
He hovers above Sunoo’s slim frame, one hand close to his red strands, supporting the weight of his body, while the other reaches out for the - indescribably pretty - face.
Then, he uses his thumb to caress Sunoo’s face, watching as he leans towards the touch with a tiny smile. That alone causes a tug on Sunghoon’s chest as he goes in for another one, gently kissing his roommate while his heart mistreats the ribcage.
“Was I too sudden?” Sunghoon mutters, not leaving any time or space for an answer as he pressed slow kisses to the edge of the redhead’s mouth. “I kind of don’t want to face you right now. Really scared of what it might do to me.”
A deafening silence places over the living room, causing the tall boy to sigh in anxiety.
Then, before he could pull away to apologize, a soft and shivery hand touches his forearm.
“Look at me.” Sunoo nearly meows, and Sunghoon obeys, retreating only to find bright crimson cheeks and a huffy chest. “I thought you'd never do it.”
Sunghoon lifts an eyebrow, wondering where that came from, but quickly realizes what the younger meant.
His mind starts going over everything.
How, when their fingers brushed after handing a coffee mug, his skin would tingle for the next hours.
The way he switched sides on their morning walk so Sunoo would be safe from the hurried students, receiving a smile in acknowledgement.
The fuzzy feeling in his stomach every time they laughed about something, knowing the ball of light and red strings would gravitate towards his body, touching his arms and desperately closing his lungs.
The fact he looked forward to it.
Oh. Oh.
Sunoo noticed, it’s only him who hadn't.
His arms wrap around the tiny waist, bringing it towards himself as he buries his face on Sunoo’s chest. “I was so obvious and still couldn't figure myself out.”
“That’s fine. Maybe it was me who spent too much time observing you.” Sunghoon lifts his head with a smirk, giggling when Sunoo’s eyes roll back and he attempts to push him away. “Never mind.”
“Hm?” He busies himself by spreading quick seals through the warm skin, “I do mind. Say it again.”
“In your dreams.”
With the giddiness still bubbling up in his veins, Sunghoon reaches for Sunoo’s chin, holding it still. His lips find their way back to the other’s, the tick of time settling down a calm atmosphere.
And then, not wanting to waste any more of their time, he whispers.
“I like you. A lot.”
A deep sigh escapes his lungs when Sunoo smiles, brighter than ever.
“I like you, too… A lot.”
