Six years later
Viper tapped their feet against the floor. Their best cloak was wrapped around their frame as they looked at Skull who looked so amazingly happy. They shot a dark look at the Storm dressed in a suit. The man dressed up nicely, but then again, they would have killed him if he ruined this day for Skull. On the other side of their brother was Reborn. Dressed impeccably.
“Who gives this man away?” The priest asked with a smile on his lips as he looked over at the contingency of people standing just behind Skull. “I do.” Viper stated with a dark look at the fools that were about to marry their sunshine.
“Do we have to?” Colonnello whined. “Owe! Lal stop hitting me Kora! Fine we do too! Happy?”
“If I must.” Verde sighed as he eyed them with a frown. “I still don’t understand why he has to marry either of them.” He grumbled.
The priest, used to the Arcobaleno’s quirks, smiled.
It had taken a long time for them to come so far. Reborn had taken Skull to the mafia ball and the two had enjoyed spinning around the floor. Fon had watched the giggling purplette with a face that showed he couldn’t decide if he was happy or jealous but by the end of the night, he was content to just gaze upon the laughing man.
Afterwards Skull had decided to make a go of it with the Sun who took the time to properly court Skull. Much to the amusement of the others. Skull never did take Reborn up on the offer to try and date other people ‘just to make sure he was what he wanted.’ In fact, it had been Reborn who had brought the Storm into their relationship two years after the ball.
The Storm had changed, for the better. Skull had treated him the same way he had treated the others in the beginning. Taking him to task for being stupid (arrogant) and thinking he could have his own way. ‘Were family Fon. We compromise. That’s what family does.’
Reborn, who could see the same devotion in Fon’s face that he himself felt had surprised his Cloudy-Sky with a date to one of the others favorite restaurants. It wasn’t a high-class restaurant, just a little hole in the wall place that Skull adored and had dragged the Storm with him.
“One date la mia nuvola. If you don’t want another one, we won’t.”
Skull had reluctantly agreed. One date turned into two, and then three. And after another two years the Sun and Storm had proposed.
In that time Skull had bonded to all of the Arcobaleno’s. Reborn had been the one he bonded to after Viper. Then Verde and finally Lal and Colonnello as his Cloud and Rain respectively. Fon had proven himself to be a better man than Viper had given them credit for. Not that they liked the Storm. They still disliked him, and probably always would. Skull would just shake his head at them but never tried to force a relationship.
As for Lal’s prediction…well Fon had found himself hopelessly in love with the smaller male in less than four months. He cursed himself for missing all of that time with the other. He was aware Viper hated him, and he was also aware that he deserved that hatred. He swore to himself as he looked at the smaller male standing happily beside him that he would spend the rest of eternity making Skull happy.
He shared a look over Skull’s head with the besotted Sun and knew. If he had to share Skull’s affections, then he was glad it was with his best friend and someone who could and would beat him into the ground the moment he stepped out of line.
“Any regrets?” Reborn asked Skull once they were pronounced married.
“Regrets? I have a few. If you’re asking if this is one of them? No. How could I regret this?” He asked with a smile and Reborn couldn’t help but to tug the smaller male into his arms and kiss him before spinning him into Fon who smiled gently and lovingly down at Skull before kissing him.
