Work Text:
It had been 10 years since she first met her.
They met at a football game, and hit it off instantly. They just… fit each other. Anyone could see it, even the least observant of their friends. In fact, many were surprised there was nothing really “going on” between them. Deep inside, though, they really did want there to be.
Ms. Brown had identified these feelings a while ago, but she didn’t know who to tell. She didn’t even know if she could tell anyone. Green was quite popular in her circle, and word would get out somehow. She didn’t even know if Green felt the same.
Green couldn’t identify her feelings. She only knew that Ms. Brown made her feel something she had never felt before. She couldn’t wrap her mind around it, and wouldn’t dare explain it to anyone, even Yellow, but she couldn’t be quiet for much longer. If she could tell anyone, it would only be her, but Ms. Brown was beautiful, tall, sophisticated, elegant, and took no one’s foolishness. Green wasn’t sure how she would react to her desperately trying to explain her mysterious feelings, and didn’t want to turn her away.
Green sat awake late at night, her body on her red satin bed sheets with a notebook in hand.
Dear Ms. Brown…
Ugh, god, what am I doing?
She stared down at the practically empty page. She didn’t know what to write, how to write it, or if she would even send it to her. Writing a letter was corny, anyway. She ripped the page out, and threw it into her trash can across the room. Still, she stared at the next page of her notebook, blank as her mind.
“This is all stupid, these feelings will go away eventually.”
She kept telling herself that, and trying to believe it, but she just couldn’t. Maybe she would if the feelings were new, but they had always been around.
“I don’t understand this.”
