Victims of Love

Summary:

Light Yagami has finally been convinced to work a case his father has been begging him to work for weeks.

When he arrives he didn’t realize there would be one big problem: he’s insanely attracted to the worlds greatest detective leading it.

Why is this a problem you ask?

All deductive reasoning goes out the window when he sees him, and that’s all Light can bring to the case.

Hi, author from like a year later. Woof.. this is rough. I have to say I have so many moments from this that make me cackle but it's not my best work. I've improved a lot and I love this fic for getting me to where I am now.

In this AU it’s 2023. The death note was never dropped (at least to the main cast’s knowledge).

After a major public figure was assassinated, the NPA called on L (the worlds greatest detective) to help reinstate peace and tranquility to Japan. Somehow L took the job, although it wasn’t necessarily interesting. 

The main thing the NPA wanted to look at was a spike in crime and why that political figure was assassinated.

Which begged the questions: who did it? And who’s next?

Fast forward, Light Yagami had recently graduated college and was trying to find a job. His father, the chief of police, was begging Light to join the case for what seemed like months, but was merely two weeks (he’s a bit dramatic).

Light finally caved and accepted, and the fic starts with Light’s first day in task force headquarters.
