Chapter Text
Chase awakens with groan and a familiar pounding in his head as awakens from his drunken sleep. Rolling over he winces at the light coming through the curtains and covers his eyes with his arm as he lays there. Well, at least he managed to make it home.
After a few minutes his need for water gets him out of bed. Damn near hissing at the pounding in his head as he sits up. Okay, so water and Ibuprofen.
He manages to make his way to his kitchen, pouring and downing a glass and a half of water as he rubs the blurriness from his eyes as he makes his way over to the cluttered table, picking out the ibuprofen bottle and shaking a couple into his hand and swallowing them dry before chasing it with another gulp of water.
He sighs, leaning against the counter and shaking out his wings before heading to the bathroom for a shower, as he turns on the light he pauses as he stares at his wings in the mirror.
They’re… Neater than before he went to that party last night. A bit shinier and look more iridescent than they have in years. He examines them a bit more before sighing and shaking his head. Well, at least he can’t see the bald spots from when she’d pick out his feathers.
He just decides to take a quick hot shower in the cramped wet box before drying himself off and looking at his wings more closely. He’s honestly surprised at how well they look, he’d almost be grateful for whoever did it if it weren’t for the fact that they’d go back to looking like shit soon.
Speaking of, who did fix his wings? The only thing he remembers is a couple of people giggling and running his fingers through his feathers.
He shakes the memory away, cheeks slightly pink before he just goes and gets dressed for the day.
Once he’s dressed he hears his phone buzz with a notification. He sighs but goes over it, intending on letting whichever brother who messaged him that yes he was awake and yes he was fine.
Instead, what greets him is a group chat with 4 messages, 2 sent last night, 1 while he was in the shower and 1 just now. The two other people only having L and Y in their places.
L: Hope you got home safe dear!!!
Y: Sleep well bebs
Y: Morning Darlin
L: Good morning Darling
He’s staring at the texts in confusion, who the hell are these people? He stares at the texts for a few minutes as he thinks back to last night.
Then his wings. And the giggly voices talking to him. And it all comes flooding back.
He met a man and woman last night at the party, it was a fucking rich persons house to he doesn’t even know how he got in but he remembers meeting them about on his fourth cup of whiskey, far from the only one smashed thankfully.
However, he managed to come across an absolutely stunning woman, tall as fuck and stoned off her ass, and… oh fuck, he had kissed her. OH FUCK AND HER BOYFRIEND.
The woman was too stoned to care in fact she seemed to enjoy it, the man wasn’t too happy until he kissed him too. He had a, strange accent but Chase had liked it and they were inseparable for the rest of the night.
They had, at one point, dragged him to an empty room, giggling and had groomed his wings, the two seemed a bit more sober than they were early, her tutting as she sees the bald spots while the man hums a calming tune as they ran their fingers through his ruffled feathers and he had just been putty in their hands.
They had cut him off not long after that, he doesn’t quite remember what they said but whatever it was they had managed to get him to agree to stop drinking for the night and about an hour later and a sandwich, when the party started dwindling off they sent him home in a taxi after putting their numbers in his phone and his in theirs.
His face is deeply flushed, debating on responding before another text comes through.
L: Oh hello!
He jumps, seeing it, staring at it confused before realizing that they could probably see that he’s read them.
He swallows, debating for a few moments before texting back.
C: Hi
His heart is in his throat as he stares at the screen as two messages pop up 30 seconds or so later.
Y: Hey Darlin
L: Hello Dear! How are you feeling?
He swallows as he debates on his answer before deciding to tell the truth.
C: like shit to be honest
Y: Makes sense, you were pretty sloshed last night
L: You were to dear.
L: You hungover?
C: well yeah
What else would he fuckin be.
L: Hungry?
C: yeah?
L: I know just the place to eat then!
He pauses staring at the text.
Y: You want us to come pick you up?
C: i can’t afford to eat out right now.
He can barely afford the food in his apartment right now, his brothers keep having to help him out much to his shame and embarrassment.
L: Don’t worry about that, we got that covered.
Y: the apartment building on 25 Sunshine Lane right?
Chase stares, heart in his throat as he wonders how they have his address. Before remembering that he had told them for his taxi last night.
C: you don’t have to
Y: Don’t worry Doll
Y: we’ll be there in like 20 minutes?
L: Only with you driving
Y: well yeah you can’t drive and are too big to anyone
L: >:I
Chase can’t help but feel like he’s intruding on the conversation when another text is directed at him.
Y: So 20 minutes?
C: yeah i guess
Y: Good, we’ll meet you at the front of the building
He sets his phone down after the last message and just, sits back staring at the phone for a few minutes before getting up.
Well, he might as well make himself look somewhat presentable.
