Thunder Storms

Summary:

Jack has a fear of thunder storms. Thankfully George is there for him.

Can be read as romantic or platonic but I put it under just the romantic tag to be safe.

Work Text:

“Jack? What’s up? Why are you calling so late?” George groggily asked as he picked up the discord call on his phone.

“Gogy?” Jack whispered into the phone.

George shot up at the sound of his friend’s broken voice. “Jack? What’s wrong? Are you okay? What happened?” he worriedly asked the younger male, scared for the boy’s well being.

Jack sighed and wiped a stray tear. “Storming. Can I come over? Sorry, I know it’s late. I just need someone’s company right now and you were the first person I could think of.”

“Yeah of course Jack! You’re always welcome. I can set up the couch and make it comfy and we can just sit together and watch some movies or something, whatever you want to do. I’m here for you,” George spoke, already getting up to grab some blankets and pillows.

Jack nodded to himself. “Yeah, yeah. That sounds nice. I’m heading over now.”

George smiled. “Great. You’re welcome to stay the night by the way if you’d like.”

“Thank you, so much. It means a lot George.” Jack sighed as he put his car into ignition and slowly backed out of the driveway. “I should be there in maybe fifteen minutes.”

“Okay. Do you want me to stay on the phone with you till then?” George asked calmly.

Jack nodded softly. “Yeah please. Could you?”

George giggled. “Of course Jack. Have you seen that new Disney movie yet? Luca, I think it was called. It looks good. Maybe we could watch it?” George suggested as he put his phone on speaker and set it down on the coffee table.

Jack smiled ever so slightly to himself. “That sounds nice. Could we, uh, could we cuddle? I know you’re not big on physical touch and shit but it’s just something that’s nice during moments like this when I get really anxious.”

“Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. Sure. I, I don’t mind if it’ll help you calm down. I’ll do anything to help you,” George spoke without much thought behind his words.

Jack’s face flushed. “Thanks George.”

“Hey if you’re down for it do you want to do a stream tomorrow?” George arranged pillows and blankets around on his couch trying to make it as comfy as possible. “We could just do a chill stream, like maybe a you laugh you lose?” George asked.

“Yeah, yeah sure. That sounds nice. George Not Found and Jack Manifold meetup real?  Not clickbait! 2021 colourized?” Jack joked as he turned down the street. “Hey, I’m almost at your house.”

George snorted. “Great! I’ll get some snacks out!” He spoke with enthusiasm.

Jack smiled. “Thank you George. It really means a lot.”

“Mhm, of course. I care about you,” George spoke honestly. He would consider Jack one of his closest friends and he would do anything for his friends.

Jack let out a small sigh. “I’m here,” he spoke softly as he parked outside.

“Okay. I’m coming out with an umbrella,” George spoke softly as he opened his front door and the umbrella.

“Thank you.” Jack hung up the call and unbuckled his seatbelt. He sat there until George opened his door, his umbrella in hand. Jack smiled and grabbed George’s hand as he got out of the car.

“Come on,” George whispered as he pulled Jack towards the door.

Jack shut his car door and followed behind George. They entered the house where they both removed their shoes and headed towards the lounge.

George dropped Jack’s hand and picked up a blanket from off the couch. He unfolded the blanket and wrapped it around Jack’s shoulders, smiling softly at him.

Jack smiled back and hugged George. “Thank you George.”

George giggled softly. “Of course.” George stepped back and grabbed Jack’s hand once more, leading him over to the couch. “What movie do you want to watch?” George asked as he sat down, gently pulling Jack down with him.

Jack scooted next to George. “Could we watch Luca?” he asked. “I haven’t seen it yet and it’s apparently really good.”

“Yeah, of course.” George turned on the TV and then pulled out his phone. He pulled up the movie and then cast it on to the TV. He set his phone down and quietly grabbed Jack’s hand.

Jack’s face flushed. “Thank you, George,” he whispered.

George smiled. “Of course. Anything for you.”
