Predators

Summary:

Aldera high and other junior highs have a hierarchy. He who is the winner sits at the throne. The King of the upper world in Aldera high may be Bakugou Katsuki, but he who rules the underworld is the real king.

Izuku Midoriya sits with a beautiful, heavy crown on his head, living lavishly, sitting atop the velvet throne at the top of the chain. He is king.

And he's loving it.

Work Text:

The soft drumming of fingertips on a wooden desk echoed in the cold classroom of Aldera high. His black, round ears flicked atop his head, hidden by his inky black hair. His tiger tail laid unmoving on his lap, staring out the window. The classroom door slid open, his head suddenly pushed down, a rough hand ruffling his hair. The boy hissed, grumbling. "Kacchan~" Izuku whined, grumbling as he fixed his messed up hair.

"Shitty nerd," Katsuki chuckled, retracting his hand as Izuku whined a bit, moving his fluffed strands around, managing to fix it. Katsuki and Izuku started to make aimless chatter, talking about stupid and random things. Katsuki Bakugou ruled the school. He had a dangerous and strong quirk and an explosive personality; he wouldn't hesitate to put you in your place.

Izuku Midoriya, the ruler of the underworld of the school. Quiet, but dangerous. With his rounded ears and bushy tail, you may think it would solely be for show, but they're not. Quick, agile, and a hunter. He'd hunt you down in seconds if you tried to come into his turf and take over. The two boys were as thick as thieves, both powerful, and were equals. Neither looked down on each other and often had play brawls that would end up with going over to one or the other's homes battered and bruised, with goofy grins on their faces and passed out as they snuggled.

Did I also forget to mention they've been boyfriends for 8 years? Katsuki, like a six-year-old, would do when confessing his love, gave Izuku a cheap arcade ring with a green and red stone, and declared the boy his 'forever boyfriend,' and soon that would stick.

The two sat there chatting as Izuku played with his lover's hands, running his smooth hands over the blonde's rough, calloused hands as they talked, the other classmates slowly piling in. The teacher finally came in, Katsuki turning in his seat as they paid attention to the teacher. "Your all 3rd years, and today we're going to be thinking about career paths; oh what the heck! Your all going the hero way!" The teacher exclaimed, tossing the pages in the air as the class showed off their quirks.

They all shouted and used their quirks, irritating Izuku's super-hearing, a deep growl coming from him as his tail flicked, his ears pinned. When people got loud, Izuku got mad. And you do not want to make Izuku angry. They all quieted down, the teacher clearing his throat.

"Anyways, it seems Bakugou and Midroiya are both going to U.A.," The teacher read off, the class looking at the two, one with a vicious smirk on his face, the other with a neutral, emotionless look on his face. Everyone burst out into quiet chattering, knowing they just got off from Izuku by the skin on their teeth and didn't want to incur the wrath of the boy. "isn't that the school that had a less than 2% acceptance rate?" "I'd like to go there" "That's so cool!" Katsuki grumbled, starting to talk about how 'These extras are simple d-listers, and they'd be lucky enough to get a job at a grocery store,' but quietly-ish. Izuku yawned, resting his head on his desk, falling asleep until Katsuki woke him up later.

-----------------------------------------------

The end of the day slowly came around as Izuku and Katsuki walked through the halls, Izuku still drowsy from sleeping on and off throughout the day. Katsuki's posse walked up to him as they split, Izuku going to buy food for this evening and Katsuki going through some cold, icky alleyway.

Katsuki blew up a soda can in his hand, dropping the charred can as he ranted about 'stupid extras,' until something sticky caught his attention; looking down, sludge grabbed his pant leg, looking behind, the large slime engulfed him.

-----------------------------------------------

Izuku got a terrible feeling in his gut something was wrong. And sadly, his suspicions were answered when his boyfriend's quirk went off in the near distance, taking off as he ran as quick as possible, arriving at the scene to see his boyfriend being suffocated by a sludge thing and the pro heroes standing around. Katsuki's clouded red eyes, full of tears, locked on Izuku's dangerous, angry eyes. Izuku pushing through the crowd, snarling as his eyes glowed a toxic green, people moving out of the way. Izuku let a dangerous growl tumble out, catching the sludge villain's attention, a shiver down his nonexistent spine.

Izuku raised his hands, claws unsheathed from his fingers, the pointy claws gleaming in the fire as he raced off, quick, speedy, and agile, jumping onto a wall as his feet transformed into tiger feet, pushing off the wall as his claws sunk into the villain's eye, raking through as the villain roared in pain, dropping Katsuki as Izuku grabbed him, hauling the taller out of the way of the villain. Izuku's tail swished angrily as he looked at his passed-out boyfriend, his self-control stretching thinner by the second. Izuku looked around the crowd, locking eyes with two sunken in blue eyes; his toxic green eyes seemed to scream, 'Well, what are you waiting for? Another person to die?!'.

The man's eyes widen as his body smoked, jumping in as Izuku held Katsuki's head in his arms; the man's signature smile and catchphrase rang out. " DON'T WORRY, WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE! " The man laughed proudly, still feeling the glare at the back of his head as he cocked his hand backward, the air pressure changing as he pushed his arm forward, the sludge villain splattered all over the alleyway as the cops got to cleaning the man up. Death Arms, Kamui woods, and Backdraft approached the two teens carefully. Izuku snarled, bearing his dangerously sharp canines and claws, his tail flicking angrily. "Hey, kid, calm down, we need to get that kid checked up," Death Arms grumbled, looking at the teen. "Fuck off, you could have done a shit ton of things, but you stood there," Izuku growled, Katsuki waking up, sitting up as Izuku carded his hand through his locks.

"You could have let him die, assholes, and you stood there! What the fuck were you thinking?!" Izuku yelled, his tone dropping and his anger spiking. "If I or All Might didn't step in, how would you feel about making a call to his parents," Izuku jerked his thumb at the still dazed Katsuki, who had rested his head on Izuku's shoulder, "Saying that they no longer have a child because you just stood there!" He shouted, the pro's sweat dropping at the angry teen. "Our quirks weren't suitable-" Kamui tried to protest, getting cut off.

"Oh, bull! My quirk wasn't suited for it either; I have a fucking tiger quirk! Kamui, you could have poked his eyes as I did, and Death's arms, you could have grabbed the kid when he did!" Izuku was now standing, gritting his teeth as he helped the dazed Katsuki up, kissing his cheek as Katsuki hugged him, Izuku whispering soft words in his ear to calm him. The three realized that he was correct, realizing they almost let a child die and would have to call his parents telling them that their child died and they were there, doing nothing.

Izuku growled one last time at the pros, grabbing Katsuki's hand as they walked through the reporters, who didn't utter a word, seeing they didn't want to get yelled at. Katsuki was still in a daze, dragging his feet slightly as they got home, Mitsuki rounding the corner as Izuku shook his head, helping the dazed boy upstairs, slowly closing the door. Mitsuki sighed; her heart ached. But she was mad and happy that Izuku gave those stupid high-strung pros a piece of his mind; if he didn't, she would.

-----------------------------------------------

The moment Katsuki and Izuku hit the bed, Katsuki broke out into tears, hugging the boy as he sobbed, Izuku's body curling around the boy. "I-It was so sca-scary," Katsuki wept, remembering earlier. It felt like the entire thing replayed in his mind, his breathing picking up as he pulled at his hair—a panic attack. Izuku pulled back from Katsuki, his body shifting as the bed weighed down, Katsuki looking at the pitch-black tiger on his bed, gleaming, round jade eyes stared at the boy as he snuggled into the tiger's side, a large paw on his back as the two cuddled, Mitsuki watching from the doorway as they slept, Katsuki's tears long gone.

-----------------------------------------------

Walking into the room, Izuku had his head held high, unlike his usually slouched position. Bandages were placed on his checks, his knuckles wrapped. Izuku's once dull, cold eyes were now a flaming blaze of toxic green oozing through his pupils. His tail swished angrily, his jaw tight and clenched. His scarred and mangled ears flicked, his aura giving off a rather predatory vibe. Izuku's goons came in next, looking slightly worse than Izuku, bandages neatly laid on their treated wounds, courtesy of Izuku.

He treated his goons well and always bandaged them up after fights like this. Their knuckles were also wrapped; the pissed expression on their faces wrinkled the freshly placed bandages. The entire class seemed to stare at the group, including Katsuki. Fights like the ones Izuku got into today didn't happen often; they were territory fights. Battles for the seat for ruling the underworld of Aldera middle school. The underworld was a powerful place, spanning to other schools, and the king was Izuku.

He had fought all of the former kings, leaving some hospitalized and others bleeding in a back alley. He was the ruler and made a heap of cash every month. It wasn't some stupid position; it was a job. Other schools often got into fights over stuff unspoken in the underworld, and Izuku took care of it, leaving them scared shitless and never uttering another word. Every month, they'd have new products coming...and you can think what those mean.

Hundreds, thousands of dollars came in every month when the supplies were restocked. Very few knew where the stocks were coming from and were hidden. Those people are the re-stockers, Izuku, his goons, and those who do the deals in back alleys and gas station bathrooms. All the money is split on how well the supplies are, how much they made, and if anyone was caught. Usually, the veterans - high school dropouts - got the most.

The newbies coming into the underworld were usually caught or very close to being, depending on their quirk and how well they did—and Izuku saw it all. He saw how some of the deals went south and stepped in. Sometimes they'd prey on the newbies to get their shit for free, and Izuku didn't like that. He'd always be watching, but you'd never know it until you made a mistake. One of the craziest deals one of his newbies ever experienced that Izuku had to step in is when they had gotten a new product in high demand for a regular, adult dealer, but the price was cut down a bit when it was being sold under Izuku.

----------------------------------------------- Flashback-----------------------------------------------

Slipping into the alleyway, one of their new product runners, Itsuki, had arrived at the meet-up place. A cold, damp alleyway behind a run-down, nearly bankrupt 7/11. Itsuki could smell the stench of rotting food and probably old, dried blood. He steeled his resolve and turned the corner, a small gang of high-schoolers that have been dealing with Izuku since he first took over the throne at the beginning of his first year in Aldera. The leader, Bones, was smoking a cigarette, the wispy smoke tumbling through his burned and numbed nostrils, blowing into the damp air of the cramped alleyway.

The second-in-command of their small gang of goons, Kuzo, was sneering at the boy, piercings dangled from his eyebrows, nose, ears, mouth, and cheeks. The third gang member was sitting, leaning against the grody brick wall. He was also smoking a cigarette, a glare situated on the poor newbie. The three looked like they were eyeing a good dinner in the wilderness of the world. Bones pushed off the wall, spitting out the butt of the cigarette, crushing it under his shoe as he walked to Itsuki.

Itsuki seemed slightly shaken, but he was trained for this under Izuku; Izuku was even more intimidating than Bones, steeling his resolve as he held his hand out. "10,000 yen for the full, 5,000 for half," Itsuki spoke, cold eyes gazing at bones. Bones laughed, before growling, his wolf ears flicking atop his head. "Give me the full package," Bones stopped for a second, reaching under his jacket, pulling a handgun from the back of his baggy pants, pointing it straight at Itsuki, whose eyes widen at the sight of the gun, "and you won't get your brains blown out,"

He snarled, Itsuki's shaking seemed to annoy the leader, clutching the handgun tighter, his hand slowly clicking off the safety. "Fi-" Bones was about to count down when the cold barrel of the gun that was once in his hands pushed against his neck, a furred, clawed hand holding his chin high.

His eyes trailed to the right, instincts screaming to get out of there quickly as possible, facing an apex predator. Toxic green eyes glowed in the dark alleyway, a sly smirk on Izuku's face as he pressed the gun further into Bones neck, the man gulping loudly. "Bones...bones...bones, what did I tell you about hustling my delivery people?" Izuku asked, his claws digging into Bones's chin, keeping the mans face straight, but his eyes locked with Izuku's green ones. "Y-You told me not...to do it again..." Bones spoke, his ears flat and tail tucked. His other gang members lay unconscious, face down on the sticky concrete floor.

"And what are you doing now?" "H-Hustling..." Izuku smiled, a cold smile on his face as Itsuki was very relieved to see Izuku, now standing off to the side, a neutral look on his face. "You know I would always find out, right? I'm everywhere, bones. I know where each one of your little 'gang' members lives, and your parents too. So, you have two options, one, I cut you off and blacklist you from all of the schools under my power, or two, you pay for the full package now, and you get to walk out of here scot-free until the next supply comes in, and I personally bring it to you. Which one, Bones?"

Izuku didn't like cutting people off, it was bad for business, but if this continued to happen, the harassing and trying to get free products, it wouldn't slide with Izuku nor go well for the people hustling his workers. "T-Two," Bones muttered, feeling the hand on his chin release, grabbing his wallet from his pants pocket, taking two 10,000 yen papers. Bones tried to protest, but the click of the safety on the gun resounding in his ears and the barrel being forced deeper into his neck silenced him. "For his," Izuku pointed to an emotionless Itsuki, "and my troubles. And of course, the products,"

Itsuki took the products out of his quirk, pocket-storage, allowing him to store anything in pockets, no matter how large. He could probably keep a house in there if he wanted to. Itsuki threw the package over, catching it with one hand; Izuku shoved it into Bones's chest, clicking the safety on. "Pleasure doing business, Bones," Izuku grinned, his tail swaying as he made his way over to Itsuki, still holding the gun as Itsuki pulled his pocket open, the pitch-black abyss of the pocket meaning his quirk was activated, dropping the handgun into the space pocket.

"Hope you won't miss it, not that I care," Izuku snickered, walking into a shadow as he disappeared, taking the money with him, going to place it in the monthly lockbox nobody knew where it was located. Itsuki got a tip that month.

-----------------------------------------------

The teen walked over, a growl bubbling in his throat, making everyone look away, scared to anger the boy. Izuku passed his chair, confusing everyone as he stepped up to where the teacher's desk was, sitting in the chair, looking powerful. "One week from now, the stocks resupply. Spread the word, but quietly. If I figured out you snitched, well," Izuku chuckled, darkening the mood, his goons behind him pulled out long and bloodied pocket knives, Izuku's claws elongating as he made a slicing action over his throat.

"One week, mark your calendars, grab your money, spread the word," Izuku stood up, his goons pocketing the knives before returning to their seats, Izuku trailing behind them, sitting in his chair as Katsuki grinned, giving Izuku a warm head scratch. Katsuki didn't really mind Izuku's business; he never hurt anyone too bad. Nobody has died; he only used those intimidation acts to bring fear to people, keeping them quiet.

Sure, a few were hospitalized, but those were in Throne fights, as everyone calls them. But who knows what would happen if Izuku was found out? He'd flip his shit. Those 'intimidation' tactics would a hundred percent no longer just be intimidation tactics.

-----------------------------------------------

Strutting down U.A. halls, a certain tiger boy had his head low, his hips slightly swaying as his tail swayed behind him. Today was the first day of U.A., and he had just arrived a few minutes before the first bell. Opening the door, everyone's head snapped towards the door. Izuku grumbled something under his breath, walking over to where two people were arguing, Katsuki's legs on a desk as a tall boy reprimanded him.

Izuku walked over, slightly shoving the tall bluette out of the way, looking at Katsuki, who looked back. Katsuki's hand ruffled Izuku's hair, turning around in his chair as Izuku sat down, starting to chat like they always did. Izuku suddenly picked up a presence behind the door, his eyes snapping towards the door, Katsuki quieting down as Izuku's ears flicked. The door opened, the man behind it locking eyes with Izuku, who watched the door, the chatter stopping as the two stared at each other.

Aizawa sighed, peeling his eyes away from the student he had the strong urge to pet, looking at the class. "It took you eight seconds to quiet down; time is of the essence, do not waste it. I'm Aizawa or Eraserhead, your homeroom teacher. Get dressed in your gym uniforms and meet me outside," Aizawa left as soon as he arrived, the class grabbing their gym uniforms and heading to their respective changing rooms.

-----------------------------------------------

Izuku slipped his white dress shirt off, folding it as everyone looked at his back. His back had thin, black lines that looked like roots in his back; the lines almost seemed to pulse. Izuku slipped his shirt on, slipping his pants on and tail through the hole after Katsuki helped him. Katsuki had many scars on his back and chest from their brawls, mostly large, thin claw marks where his shoulder blades were and his chest, some on his lower back and the sides of his chest. Izuku slipped out of the changing area, seeing Aizawa standing there as bored as ever, Izuku going unnoticed. "Aizawa sensei?" Izuku called out, Aizawa flinching a bit, looking at the teen who's been standing there for like...five minutes.

"When'd you get here?" Aizawa asks, fixing his scarf. "Five minutes ago," Izuku snickered a bit. "Whadda need, problem child?" Aizawa asked, already dubbing this boy a problem child. Izuku pouted at the name, his tail flicking. "You wanna pet my ears, don't you?" Izuku asked out of the blue, getting a nod from Aizawa. Izuku stepped up, smiling as Aizawa pet his curly, silky hair and his soft ears, all tension in either of their bodies washing away. Aizawa pulled back a minute later, Izuku stepping back as they started a nice conversation, talking about different things. Around five minutes later, the rest of the class came out; a fuming Katsuki came out as well. Izuku groaned, drawing his hand down his face. "Loud blonds," Aizawa and Izuku said at the same time. Izuku walked to where Katsuki was, his head butting Katsuki's chest.

Katsuki looked down, forgetting his anger, wrapping the smaller in a hug, resting his chin on Izuku's fluffy hair, Aizawa speaking up. "Today, we're doing a quirk assessment," Aizawa spoke, taking out a tan sphere, throwing it to Katsuki. Katsuki caught it, Izuku looking at the ball before stepping back, yawning a bit, standing where Katsuki just did as Katsuki stepped up. "What was your ball toss in middle school, Bakugou?" "67 meters," He responded, tossing the ball up in the air and catching it with his hand.

"Throw it with your quirk in that circle, do whatever you want without leaving it," Aizawa spoke, Katsuki smirking as he walked over to the circle, cocking his arm back, dragging it down as his hand ignited, explosions propelling the ball with his classic "DIE!" Aizawa showed the screen, '705.9m' in bright white letters. "So fun!" A pink-skinned girl yelled, Aizawa glaring at her. "Fun? Then, whoever gets last gets expelled, see how fun it is now," Aizawa gave his best shit-eating grin, the class shivering except for a few.

-----------------------------------------------

The 50-meter dash was up; the last two were Katsuki and Izuku, one looking ecstatic, the other looking tired. Katsuki placed his hands behind him, crouching down as he got ready to propel himself off. Izuku kicked off his shoes, bending down as his feet dug into the ground, morphing into tiger feet, his claws dug into the ground as the timer counted down.

'3...2...1...GO' the machine blared, sparks igniting as Izuku jumped the second the 'GO' registered in his mind, taking off as he transformed mid-dash, thundering paws hit the ground as explosions exploded, rocketing Katsuki forward as Izuku finished, sliding on the dirt, his pitch-black paws digging into the dirt as he stopped himself, Katsuki stopping a moment after. The dust cleared as Izuku was collecting his shoes; nobody really certain what had happened. "Izuku Midroiya, 2.25 seconds. Katsuki Bakugou 4.32 seconds,"

Katsuki clicked his tongue as Izuku gave him his own shit-eating grin, his tongue sticking out between his teeth as Katsuki growled. He could never beat Izuku in the speed aspect, no matter how much they trained together. One of Izuku's aspects of his quirk was built for speed and agility. After all, he was a hunter, a predator—a hunter born for that kind of thing. Izuku yawned, mumbling a small 'tired' before returning to the line of students as the test went on.

-----------------------------------------------

Izuku has placed second to Katsuki in the exams, and so on; retuning to their class, Izuku fell asleep the moment his head touched his arm. Katsuki sighed softly, petting his thick curly mess of hair. Unconsciously leaning into the touch, Izuku purred softly as he slept, the others silently watching the exchange. Aizawa had also been watching as they all quietly flooded into the classroom, talking just a little quieter as Izuku slept, Katsuki taking notes for the boy.

Izuku may be a predator, but he's a sucker for Katsuki's scratches.
