Work Text:

A busy street in the middle of London brimmed with life, people walking amongst each other as they scanned the shops and stores lining the thoroughfare.

An elegant person slipped between the crowd unnoticed by the masses, their fluffy yet bouncy black hair swayed just above their shoulders. They danced the familiar dance through the crowd until their amber eyes settled on a cafe, almost hidden by plants that beamed with life; waving their greetings at the person as they walked into the cafe.

They stretched, the bell above the door chiming softly. The few people sitting along the cafe spared only a glance at them, though one of their regulars waved their way with a gentle smile.

They offered a wave in return, before slipping behind the counter and finally noticing the tiny hamster staring at them- nibbling away on a peanut carefree.

“Hello, Nutella.” They greeted the tiny boy, sticking their pointy finger out and petting the soft cheeks. It grumbled in return, shoving the entire nut into his mouth before trying to nibble at their finger. “Oh the humanity. Eaten alive by a fearsome dragon while Solis is away in the chamber known as staff storage.” Dramatically they lifted their other hand to their forehead, letting the hamster carefully nibble away.

“Eloren, are you finally clocking in?” Eloren glanced to the voice of Solis, seeing the ginger haired woman staring at them through the door with a grin. Her beautiful pink eyes shining with the sun that walked across the sky.

“Yep. I’m even early.” They boasted, placing one hand on their hip. “That’s why Nutella is giving me love bites.”

Solis blinked. “He’s eating you.”

Eloren’s smile widened. “It’s love bites.

There was a pregnant pause.

“Table four wants a refill.” Solis finally said, throwing an apron with flowers embodied on at them. Nodding once towards the customers watching the twos interactions.

“Right on it, you’ll be organizing?”

“Yep. Noticed a few misplaced items.”

Eloren nodded, holding their hands behind their back to allow Nutella(who finally decided they were not a good snack) to tie the ribbons to keep it in place. “You could have sent me.”

“Oh please,” they heard the muffled chuckle of Solis as the door closed, “you still get scared by the fire sign.”

“It was one time!”
