My Demi-Chan Academia

Summary:

Izumi Midoriya was Quirkless. And in a world where Quirks were everything, this was particularly bad.

Furthermore, at age four, she learned not all men were equal. Some, like her, were born with the stack against them, while others, like her former-best-friend-turned-bully Katsuki Bakugou, they had the deck on their side.

Thank goodness Midoriya has a group of cute monster girls-sorry, demi-chans-to take her mind away from all that!

Notes:

I'm so sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

Work Text:

Midoriya expected a couple of words to come out of Hikari Takahashi's mouth as they walked to school. She was the mouthy "vampire" of the group, so she had to be prepared for the outrageous, the unexpected, the odd things someone would say to get a reaction out of someone.

"Demi-Chan!"

She didn't expect a simple exclamation without context.

"What do you mean, Hikari?"

"A different name to call people like us, duh!" Hikari chuckled. "I mean, "monster girl" is so last decade, and besides, it's kinda offensive when you think about it."

Midoriya scratched her chin. "Offensive, huh?"

"Yeah! I mean, think about this: you're walking on the street, you see a minotaur lady walking around, then someone says "Man, that's a fine monster girl!" And then the minotaur runs away offended and ashamed."

"That's... quite an image, Hikari."

"Fufufu, of course it is!" Hikari flashed a peace sign next to her tired eyes. "A vampire is brutal in all endeavors, even when giving examples!"

Hikari Takanashi! Quirk: Vampire! Her Quirk gives her all the basic traits of a vampire; bat wings, fangs, blood sucking, and more!

"You're not really a vampire, though, you just have a Quirk that makes you one."

Hikari pouted. "Why can't you be fun once in a while, Izumi-kun?"

Midoriya flinched and blushed, earning a laugh from the vampire girl.

"Ahahaha! Yeah, like that! Just like that!"

"Midoriya-kun! Hikari-san!"

The pair turned around, and saw two girls standing at the gates, waving at them. One was a redhead, Kyoko Machi, whose detached head floated near her body, while the other was a green-haired girl, Yuki Kusakabe, who had snowflakes orbitting around her.

"Macchi! Yukki!" Hikari shouted with excitement as she and Izumi ran to the pair. "You're early as usual, huh?!"

"What's that supposed to mean, Hikari-chan?" Machi asked once she reconnected her head with her neck. "We always try to arrive early."

Kyouko Machi! Quirk: Dullahan! She can detach her head from her body, with the caveat that she can't speak until she reconnects with her neck!

"Even then, we're still on time today," Kusakabe added. "If anything, aren't you and Izumi-chan late?"

Yuki Kusakabe! Quirk: Yuki Onna! Her body temperature is naturally cold, and she can control the snowflakes orbitting her body! She can easily overheat, too!

"Hey, give me a break girls! You know how vampires and sunlight don't mix well!" Hikari whined.

"No, we do get that," Kusakabe said. "What we don't get is why you drag poor Izumi-chan along."

"She insisted on coming with me!" Hikari turned to Izumi. "Right, Izumi-kun?!"

"Please just call me Midoriya-san," she requested, blushing as she twiddled her. "Izumi-kun just sounds..."

"Izumi-kun, you know I like to give nicknames to people I consider great friends," Hikari rubbed her eyes and shed a tear. "Are you saying we're not friends anymore?!"

"N-Not at all! We're definitely friends!" Midoriya said, flailing her arms up and down. "I-I just don't think we're at the point where we should be using nicknames with each other."

"Well I beg to differ," Hikari responded, wiping her tear away. "I think we're the best of friends!"

"Yeah, we are, hehe," Midoriya scratched her head. "B-But we're about to be late, you know?"

"Yeah, we should get going," Machi said in agreement.

The girls went through the gates... and they were immediately greeted with the sight of various Demi-Chans walking around, from angels to demons to other types of demis.

What, did you think this was Aldera Middle School? Or even U.A.?

Nevertheless, Midoriya and her friends quickly went to their classroom of Class 1-A, where they were greeted by a tall demi, who scanned Midoriya before asking:

"Are you the new gremlin student?"

"Y-Yes, ma'am! I'm Izumi Midoriya!"

Izumi Midoriya! Alleged Quirk: Gremlin! She allegedly has the technological expertise and playfulness of a Gremlin!

"Nice to meet you!" the demi said, extending her hand forward. "I hope we get along!"

"Trust me, so do I!"

With that cleared, Midoriya and the girls sat at the bottom row of seats, where Midoriya whispered a confession:

"I don't think this is gonna work. Acting like I'm a demi can only go so far!"

"Nonsense, we'll be fine!" Hikari replied. "Besides, we're too deep in here to back out now!"

"Thanks to a certain vampire girl," Machi pointed out.

"Don't worry, Midoriya-san," Kusakabe said. "We'll help keep up the charade as long as possible."

Midoriya didn't feel that reassured, but the girls were right: they couldn't back out now-thanks, Hikari-so the only thing left to do was keep up the farce.

Her high school years as a fake Gremlin began!

All Might help her...
