Mama Inko

Chapter 3: Welcome Home Shota

Notes:

I have chosen to have Izuku refer to Shota as Sho-Nii since it seemed easier than him referring to him as big brother at every turn and when the others get introduce It will make it easier to tell them apart. However, I'm not very familiar with Japanese honorifics so I don't know if that's very proper, if anyone has an suggestions I'm willing to hear them out

Chapter Text

“Welcome to your new home Shota” Inko said warmly as she opened the front door to their apartment, Shota gave her a soft smile as Izuku dragged him in excitedly.

“Come on Sho-Nii! I have to give you a tour!” Izuku announced cheerfully as he tugged on the older boys arm earning him a fond chuckle from the young man as he allowed himself to dragged around.

“This is the living room where we can watch movies and cuddle” Izuku stated cheerfully as he gestured to the living room before he dragged him towards the kitchen.

“This is the kitchen, this is where Mama makes the bestest food” He said proudly earning a fond smile from Inko as she stepped into the kitchen to start working on dinner. Izuku was quick to drag Shota away once again not that the ravenette seemed to be complaining.

“This is my room, it is the most bestest” He exclaimed excitedly and Shota felt his lip quirk up in amusement as he saw everything was covered in All Might merch. Izuku spun on his heel and pointed at the door across from him.

“That’s Mamas room, it’s private unless you have nightmares” He said seriously and Shota couldn’t help but give the boy a soft smile.

“Of course” He said and Izuku nodded before dragging him towards the last two rooms, he offhandedly pointed out the bathroom before he pushed the last door open which showed an almost barren room, all it had was a bed, dresser and a desk plus a small looking closet.

“And this is your room Sho-Nii!” Izuku announced cheerfully as he pulled Shota into the room. Shota hummed as he took a seat on the bed only for Izuku to suddenly crawl into his lap.

“Do you like it Sho-Nii?” He asked curiously and Shota just gave him a soft smile as he ruffled the boy’s hair.

“It’s great Izuku” He said and Izuku gave him a nearly blinding smile, honestly we wouldn’t be surprised if the boy’s quirk was world-shattering cuteness.

“Mama said since its the weekend tomorrow we can go shopping for things you need” He finally revealed as he curled even further up onto Shota’s lap who just hummed in acknowledgement as he continued to run his fingers through Izuku’s hair.

“That will be nice” He remarked softly and Izuku just made a small humming sound before he dozed off in Shota’s lap.

“He’s grown very attached to you” Inko said warmly as she walked into the room earning a shy smile from Shota.

“It’s a little jarring but also really nice” He confessed and Inko just gave him a soft smile as she sat down next to him.

“That’s just Izuku for you, he has always been very good at knowing exactly what a person needs most” She remarked and Shota hummed thoughtfully.

“Could his quirk be empathy?” He asked curiously and Inko tilted her head to the side curiously as she stared at Izuku.

“I’m not sure, neither I nor his father’s families have anything even close to an empathy quirk in their lines but you never know Izu could be a rare exception” She remarked softly and Shota furrowed his eyebrows slightly in thought as he glanced up at her.

“If you don’t mind me asking, where is Izuku’s father?” He asked softly and Inko let out a tired sigh.

“Hisashi left when I was still pregnant with Izuku, he didn’t want the responsibilities of being a father. Our divorce was finalized last year” She said softly and a dark look appeared on Shota’s face as he glanced down at Izuku.

“He didn’t deserve you or Izuku” He said and Inko gave him a soft smile as she rested a gentle hand on his shoulder.

“Your right” She said softly, Shota just hummed as he continued to run his fingers through Izuku’s hair to try and calm the sudden anger that had taken over him. Inko and Izuku were the kindest people he had ever met with the exception of Hizashi and they didn’t deserve to be hurt by some selfish jackass.

“Come on dinner will be ready soon” Inko suddenly said and Shota nodded before he gently nudged Izuku awake, who made an adorable cooing sound as he woke up.

“Time to wake up Izu, dinners almost ready” Inko said warmly as she picked him up so that Shota could stand up.

“Okay Mama” He said sleepily as he rubbed at his eye, Inko smiled down at him softly before she left the room with Shota trailing behind her. She still had a lot she needed to discuss with Shota but that could wait until they all had a full meal, Shoat especially looked like he could use one.
