Chapter Text
He was walking out of the dragonglass mine when he felt a shiver run down his spine, goosebumps formed on his neck and arms before he narrowed his eyes noticing a little boat approaching the shore of Dragonstone, in the background, on the gray horizon, a ship with white sails could be seen anchored.
Gendry looked around hoping for someone he knew to be around, unfortunately he didn’t found anyone so he approached a man of the Wall who was coming from the same path he did. “Someone is docking at the beach, send for Jon Snow.” he said uncomfortably pointing to the little boat and watched as the man absorbed the information looking at the beach with intrigued eyes.
“Immediately, my Lord.” the man said turning to go back inside the dark mountain.
After the man went inside the cave looking for Jon, Gendry started to make his way down to the beach, he tapped his hip feeling the hammer he had made for mining the dragonglass strapped to his belt, some men of the free folk and some men of the Wall started to follow him with curiosity and wary on their faces.
By the time his feet touched the sand, a skinny boy and a dwarf were already pulling the boat to the shore dragging it with some difficulty through the sand. it didn’t seemed as though they had anyone else on the boat and he wondered what in the seven hells was their business here and if they looked as a threat enough to leave the hammer unstrapped and ready to be drawn.
The boy was the first to notice him approaching them and when their eyes met Gendry nearly forgot how to breathe, a young woman, with a hair windswept and cut short like a boy, some braids on the left side of her head were helping keep the hair away from a ethereal long face, big gray eyes full of distrust stared right into his soul, it wasn’t a boy, it was a ghost.
“Arry?” He managed to ask through ragged breath.
He saw the shift in the young woman stance, disbelief plain in her face.
“Arya? Is that you?” He asked taking a step forward without even realize it.
Her face hardened, he saw her jaw clenching while she took a step back.
“Gendry.” She acknowledged him. Her voice collected, nothing like the childish screech that it used to be.
“Arry... Where...How did you...” He had so many questions he couldn’t manage to stay in one line of thought. He started to close the gap between them once again and then he felt her foot hitting hard on his shin.
“Dammit!! What the fuck was that for?” He shouted at her, jumping on one foot while he grabbed the shin she kicked with both hands.
“That was for leaving me you stupid bullheaded bastard!!” She shouted back at him with contempt in her eyes. The little, scarred man behind her was looking shocked at them, pulling her by the elbow trying to pull her away from him, she shoved the man off and kept glaring at him.
“What? It was YOU the one who left!!” He shouted back, giving her a glare of his own.
“Was it? Sor Gendry of Hollow Hill.” She said with disdain.
Gendry let out a tired sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. How could she make his head hurt after only two minutes of being reunited was beyond his understanding. “Arya...” he began to say but she cut him off.
“Don’t you dare to use that tone with me, you are not my brother!” She growled at him. “Actually I think we’re already done here, I’d like to talk with the one in charge.”She stated, commanding tone in her voice and as soon as the words left her mouth he saw her jaw clenching again and her stance changed, preparing to fight.
