“Guys, guys, settle down!” Hajime called out, causing the others to turn to him, their excited chatter silenced as they stood in the Hotel Restaurant. “I know you’re all excited to go back into the outside world after Makoto helped to pardon us, but don’t you think you’re rushing into things a little?”
“Come on, Hajime, SHOW SOME SPIRIT!” Nekomaru challenged.
“Yeah!” Akane nodded “I mean…wasn’t it you that told us that we can create the future we want on our own?”
…Me and my big mouth… Sighing, Hajime replied “…I’m not saying you can’t…but you should all at least have some kind of a plan for what you want to do once you leave Jabberwock. That’s all I’m saying.”
“Well, my plan is to keep fighting Coach Nekomaru until I beat him!” Akane replied, earning a grin from the former Ultimate Team Manager.
Maybe you should figure out a plan for after that happens… Hajime deadpanned before deciding it was pointless to argue. Turning to the others, he asked “Fine, what about the rest of you? What are your plans?”
“Well, Ibuki wants to go on tour as a solo musician! And Porkfeet has agreed to join me as my assistant!”
Porkfeet nodded, smiling as he remarked “Somebody needs to process all the paperwork, and my time impersonating Byakuya Togami allowed me to become intimately familiar with all sorts of legal paperwork.”
Mahiru spoke up next, explaining “I’m going to travel the world and taking photos of its wonders to publish in magazines!”
Hiyoko nodded, adding “And I’m going to be joining her; I’ll be doing a traveling dance show so that we can pay for food and lodging while she travels to take photos.”
I see…that’s at least something… Hajime admitted to himself before turning to Fuyuhiko and Peko, asking “Fuyuhiko, Peko, what about you? Are you planning to rebuild the Kuzuryu Clan?”
Fuyuhiko shook his head, retorting “Fuck no. That shit can stay dead for all I care.”
Peko nodded explaining “Fuyuhiko and I aren’t quite sure what we plan to do with our lives, but we’ve decided that the only way we’ll find out is by going into the outside world and trying different things until we find out.”
…I suppose there’s little point in staying here, then… Hajime conceded before Sonia spoke next.
“As for me…I…I owe it to my home country to help Novoselic rebuild after abandoning my duties as its Princess for the sake of Despair. So…I’m heading back there.”
“I see…” Gundham offered “In that case, would you like me to accompany you, Princess? There may be no shortage of demonic beasts that have made their home in your domain during your absence, and someone with my advanced magical prowess would prove beneficial in banishing them so you may reclaim your throne without incident.”
Sonia grinned, nodding “Oh really? Thank you so much, Gundham! I’d be more than happy to have you accompany me on my journey to Novoselic.”
Gundham blushed, wrapping his scarf around his face as he bashfully muttered “Th…thank you…”
Kazuichi sighed and muttered “Well…if Miss Sonia is already taken…” He then spoke up, deciding “Maybe I’ll see if I can get a job at Hope’s Peak Academy as a mechanic. Makoto was kind enough to pardon us, so maybe he can help me get a job too!”
Just don’t try to mooch off his kindness too much… Hajime deadpanned before asking “Teruteru, Ryota, what about you two?”
Teruteru smiled as he announced “Actually, I’m thinking of staying here, at least in the short term.” Seeing their curious expressions, he explained “Well, I’ve already opened up a Hanamura Diner here, and I’d hate to abandon it, so I’ve decided that once Jabberwock is open to the public, to keep on running it! The tropical scenery is absolutely ripe for attracting tourists, not to mention I can use the fact that it was a former murder scene to attract curious customers!”
You sure got over that fast… The others deadpanned before Ryota spoke up next.
“I’m going to stay here too and form my own anime studio. That way I can work in peace on my animations before I try to send my pitches to Japanese TV networks.”
“I see…in that case, perhaps I’ll stay here for a bit as well, just to keep an eye on you. Someone has to make sure you don’t hit on too many of your female customers, Teruteru. Not to mention, Ryota has a history of overworking, so it would be beneficial if someone stayed here to supervise your new ventures in the short term.” Teruteru and Ryota deflated at Hajime’s words before he asked “Mikan, Nagito, what about you?”
“Well…I was thinking…of starting my own cl…clinic, or maybe even working at a ho…hospital in Ja…Japan. That way, I could fulfill my dr…dream of being a nu…nurse…”
Nagito nodded, smiling as he praised “A most excellent dream, Mikan! That sounds like a wonderful way to use your Ultimate Nurse Talent to spread hope throughout the world.”
“Th…thanks, Nagito…” Mikan blushed as she stammered “I was actually th…thinking…would you like to j…join me…? As my as…assistant? I could use some he…help setting up sh…shop when we land in Tokyo. And I…I’d honestly like the co…company…”
“…To think, someone like me could have the opportunity to help someone as talented as you spread hope by assisting you with your dreams…” Nagito grinned as he nodded “I’d be happy to accompany you, even if my company is the only thing I can give you…”
Nagito blushed as the two smiled at each other before Hajime clapped his hands and announced “Well, it seems like you’ve all made your decisions. I won’t stop you, but at least stay for the rest of the week. That’ll give you all time to pack and store enough food on the boat to sustain you until you reach Japan.”
Everyone nodded in agreement, then went off in different directions, splitting off into small groups, leaving Hajime alone as he smiled proudly.
Well…some of their dreams are…questionable…but at least it won’t be boring to watch them try and succeed. Everyone…good luck with your new lives in the outside world!
