Chapter Text
"It's Hogsmeade." Fred exclaimed when he saw Isadore not yet ready to go out.
"I know, but I'm not in the mood to go out today." Isadore told him. Fred frowned and looked at George who looked sad as well.
"Please, Dora-"
"-come with us."
"What will we do-"
"-without you there-"
"-with us at Hogsmeade?" They asked her and she sighed.
"Guys, I really don't want to go anywhere. I'm not in the mood. Seriously." She said and shook her head.
"Please."
"Pretty Please."
"Pretty please with-"
"-a cherry on top?" They still begged her and she chuckled shaking her head.
"I would've joined you if I wanted to go. You know that you can't change my mind once I decided. Don't you?" Isadore said and they sighed.
"Are you sure?" George asked her and she nodded her head.
"I'm sorry, guys. I'll join you tonight at dinner." She said going back to her dorm and they sighed again.
"We will be bored." Fred said to George who nodded.
"I thought we are going to have so much fun today." George sighed sadly.
"What is wrong with you two?" Hermione screeched at them. "Harry is missing and all you want to have is fun?"
"Stop screeching like a banshee, Granger." Draco snapped from behind them. All three of them looked at Draco who had an expression of utter distaste as he glanced at Hermione.
"You-" "Shut it, mudblood." Draco sneered at her and Hermione glared even more.
"I'm going to tell Headmaster-" "Do tell. I'm not shaking here in fear, tell him that too." Draco mocked her.
"You!" Ron tried to punch him coming out of nowhere suddenly, but the twins stopped him in time just as his fist was close to connecting to Draco's nose.
"You are going to regret even trying to touch me, Weasel. You think you are going to get away with trying to attack me?" Draco smirked at him and twirled his wand expertly. "I was waiting until you make your first mistake. Thanks for helping me to sue you."
"How dare you act like this after kidnapping our Harry?" Ronald screamed trying to get away from his brothers. "Let me go, I need to teach this bastard a lesson for kidnapping my best mate."
"Best mate?" Draco snorted. "He considered you his worst mate, Weasel. He hated the three of you. You not only insulted his sister, you even tried to hide things from him. Whose best mate does that?"
"Isadore was nothing but a-" Ron yelped falling to the ground as the twins let him go and kicked him hard to the ground.
"What do you think you are doing?" Hermione yelled gaining the attention of more people. There was a crowd due to Ron's shouts, but now everyone were trying to look at what's happening. "How can you kick your own brother? Detention to both of you-"
"We didn't kick him, Granger."
He slipped and got caught-"
"-between our legs." The twins shrugged non chalantly not even trying to help their brother up at all.
"You- You-" "What is going on here?" McGonagall pushed the students and walked towards them. Severus followed her closely and looked at Draco who crossed his arms over his chest as he looked at McGonagall.
"Weasley tried to attack me and the twins stopped him. He was struggling too hard and fell down when they let him go." Draco said calmly.
"Malfoy is lying-" "There are so many people around here. Ask anyone of them." Draco pointed to their audience and Hermione glared at him.
"Malfoy is saying the truth. Weasley was about to punch him and the twins stopped him." A girl wearing Hufflepuff scarf told them.
"I saw it too." Another girl from Hufflepuff supported her.
"Me too." Even the Gryffindors agreed with them.
"See? Not even a single Slytherin. I think you believe me now." Draco said drawling slightly. Severus can see Lucius thorough and thorough in the way Draco acted. He is his father, ditto. He shook his head.
"Mr Weasley, detention." McGonagall said not even specifying for how long or with whom.
"That's it, Minerva?" Severus asked her. "If it was the opposite and Mr Malfoy attacked Mr Weasley, you would take all of his points from Slytherin and even forbid him from going to Hogsmeade today. Detention is just too little. You didn't even specify anything about the detention. I think as Mr Malfoy is from my house, I have every right to punish Mr Weasley."
"Severus, detention is more than enough. Mr Weasley is worried about his friend-" "That doesn't mean he can go attacking my students. He has no right trying to raise his hand against Mr Malfoy. I would've said the same thing if he tried to attack any other student of any house. Mr Weasley's personal reasons don't give him any right to attack anyone at Hogwarts." Severus said to her.
"Severus, clearly you are too biased towards Mr Malfoy." McGonagall glared at him.
"I think Professor Snape is right, Professor McGonagall." The head boy muttered from beside her. "Weasley has been acting as he wished from the moment you made him a prefect for Gryffindor house at the start of this year. Now, he is even going attacking fellow students. If you don't punish him properly, then he won't learn anything and would think it is ok to take his anger on others despite them being not involved in his personal matters."
"Shut up, you don't have any right speaking about me like that. You stupid asshole." Ron shouted angrily as he glared at the Slytherin headboy. "You are a snake too. I damn well guarantee that you are one of the wannabe death eater."
"Mr Weasley, stop talking at once." McGonagall snapped at him.
"Ron, calm down. You shouting is only going to make matters worse." Hermione pulled him back. "Let the professors talk."
"But-" "No buts, Mr Weasley." McGonagall snapped again.
"Minerva, Severus and the head boy are right." Filius Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw house appeared out of nowhere and McGonagall cursed Weasley for all this stupidity.
"I agree." Pomona Sprout said as she looked at McGonagall seriously. Flitwick and Sprout always hated this Weasley boy and his sister. The twins even if they were pranksters were never hated by them, but this boy is an idiot and just because he was the best friend of Harry Potter, the boy-who-lived, he acted as if he owned the classrooms and did whatever he wanted disrupting the class every single time. They couldn't even punish him as they wished because McGonagall or Dumbledore always intervenes. Severus is the only one who was able to teach this brat a lesson every time.
"You are being too much on young Mr Weasley for a small-" "Trying to punch another student isn't small." Aurora Sinistra, the astronomy professor at Hogwarts said distastefully as she looked at Ronald. "He always tried to bother Mr Malfoy in the class. This isn't a small thing anymore."
"Why are you all supporting this death eater scum-" "He doesn't even have the decency to not say such words at school either. What is his mother even teaching him?" Aurora scoffed. "Teaching her son to differentiate between Slytherin and Gryffindors as bad and good people. The students aren't even of age, they didn't even choose their life goal, how can he accuse a student of being a death eater when he is here to study? What do you think will happen when one by one all of the Slytherins take their children out of school?"
"Good for us." Ron declared loudly and everyone started whispering.
"See, he isn't even ashamed to say that or think about spoiling other student's life. He is too biased. We say you-know-who and the purebloods are biased towards muggleborns and muggles. But, this is also complete bias. He won't even listen to a professor and instead shout back at us. We tolerated all these years, but I think I reached my point, Minerva." Aurora said to her. "I won't be teaching here anymore with a student like this."
"What? What are you saying? Mr Weasley is a child, Aurora. How can you say such thing just because he is not yet mature-" "I don't care, Minerva. I'm a Slytherin too and your darling Mr Weasley thinks it's good if all the Slytherins leave this place. I'll just leave. I'll be handing over my resignation letter soon." Aurora said coldly and left the place.
"I think I should leave too, then. What do you say, Mr Weasley?" Severus drawled and Ron sneered.
"Whole Hogwarts would be most happiest with that." Ronald said smugly ignoring Hermione who is pulling on his sleeve to shut up.
"Hmm, I'll be talking about my student's parents and see to your wishes then." Severus said seriously.
"Good, the school would be better off without those disgusting snakes as students." Ron said to him.
"Severus, not you too. He is just a child and he doesn't know what is right and what is wrong. Think rationally. You can't be serious." McGonagall said looking at him with disbelief across her face.
"A child, huh?" Flitwick asked her. "A child you don't even reprimand for talking back to two professors."
"Filius-" "Enough, Minerva!" Filius raised his short hand to stop her. "We tolerated everything because of Mr Potter. But, he isn't even in the castle anymore. Last anyone heard, he was irritated by Mr Weasley and his group. Mr Potter might have left the castle because of Mr Weasley. Everyone saw how Mr Potter treated him all these days before vanishing. I think, Mr Potter shares our beliefs too and left for good not able to tolerate such friends anymore."
"How dare you say that to me?" Ron shouted at him.
"Look, you are not even trying to scold him when he shouted at another professor, Minerva." Pomona pointed out the obvious and McGonagall just looked at them like an idiot. "Forget it. Mr Potter, where ever he is, I hope he is finally happy after leaving such friends."
"Professor Sprout-" "Don't call me that, Miss Granger. You are no longer my student. Get yourself someone else to teach you Herbology." Pomona said blankly. "You too, Mr Weasley and pass it on to your sister."
"Pomona, that is enough. I'll be talking about your behavior with Albus. How dare you try to change the rules as you wish? Do you want to get fired?" McGonagall threatened her.
"First, Slytherins. Then, Ravenclaws and then finally Hufflepuffs. I don't think any of the houses are safe with your students, Minerva." Filius said and the Gryffindors looked ashamed because of those three idiots.
"Professor Flitwick, don't say that." Fred shook his head.
"We always respect you-"
"-we are not our brother or sister." George continued.
"Yes, we are not Ronald." The others agreed. "Or Ginerva or Hermione Granger."
"Please, don't say such harsh words just because of them." They pleaded and Filius sighed.
"I apologize children, it just came out wrong way." Filius said to them who were glaring at Ronald and Hermione for making them all look bad.
"Enough of this." McGonagall said angrily. "Go back to whatever you were doing before this. Go. Now!" She ordered seriously and everyone started to disperse. It was time to leave to Hogsmeade anyway and they went out of the castle not knowing the chaos that is going to ensue there soon.
Severus looked at McGonagall for a moment longer before leaving the place along with other professors as the students left. He was glad Isadore wasn't there during the fight. It would've been disastrous instead of a small victory, as Ronald Weasley couldn't control his mouth around her and would surely insult her and the twins won't let him go easily after that. That would've resulted in a fight instead of this. Severus got to know that the professors are not on Dumbledore's side. That is a great news. He is glad that they aren't going to support Dumbledore. He is ok with them being neutral, but if they supported Dumbledore, they would've to lose a few talented professors.
Severus suddenly stopped as he just realized that Isadore isn't there, that means she must be in her dorm. He didn't see her leave the castle either. The kidnapping is going to take place today and if she isn't at Hogsmeade then the plan is going to go south. Oh no, the death eaters must've already arrived. He can't ask the dark lord to stop the attack and he can't even go to Isadore and ask her to go to Hogsmeade as it would surely raise doubts. It's not as if he can go to the Gryffindor Tower either. What to do now? He thought to himself.
