Rare love

Summary:

Some drabbles and not quite drabbles based upon either my favourite pairings or unusual ones.
More to come as I get inspired. May even aim for 100 drabbles. :o
There are no universe crossovers
Underage tag as a precaution due to certain teenage characters.

Chapter 1: G1 Transformers

Chapter Text

There were whispers around the Ark. A rumour so outrageous, no-one would believe it. Bumblebee who had claimed knowledge of it first was called a liar, asking to be pounded if the accused ever found out. So when Sunstreaker stormed into the communal room everyone turned to look at him.

Sunstreaker bypassed the yellow Minibot completely though and right up to Huffer. Amongst shocked optics, he pulled the engineer up into his arms and kissed him hard.

"There!" He said, staring accusingly. "Now you know they ARE true."

Huffer, still cradled in Sunstreaker's arms, just smiled dreamily in utter contentment.

Chapter 2: G1 Transformers

Summary:

Couldn't leave this alone. Of course I decided to make things less then simple. Really hard to put things into 100 words exactly too. So many edits on this little thing.

Chapter Text

After the revelation, Sunstreaker and Huffer always seemed to be arguing. At points it looked close to getting physical. One orn Brawn had had enough, punching Sunstreaker in the face during the latest spat. Raging about how he was just using Huffer as a temporary plaything.

"Huffer can do better. I CAN do better by him!"

Everyone froze in the moment. Realising what he had uttered out loud, Brawn quickly departed the scene without saying another word. Sunstreaker growled in his wake, whilst Huffer on the other hand was left in turmoil. Things had gotten a whole load more complicated.

Chapter 3: G1 Transformers

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The love triangle that had blossomed was the talk of the Ark. Rumour, gossip, speculation and assumption were rife. Cosmos being the darling that he was felt bad for the trio stuck in the middle, but another part was also relieved as the rumour mill kept others away from his own secret.

No-one knew that Cosmos could hear the serenade of a beautiful melody on his private channel. A caress so he was never alone in space.

"Blaster Coming atcha with this latest sound of delight. This goes out to my dreaming explorer. May you never tire of the stars."

Notes:

For the record the song Blaster plays to Cosmos is the Blue Danube by Johann Strauss

Chapter 4: Attack on Titan

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The universe was dying. It's wonders and glory had shrunk and shrivelled into this miserable little pocket of existence. Those that still lived there, lived in misery. It was a blessing when they died and death was always willing to count their number.

One of them though held onto life that was quite unbecoming. He said he was waiting but never said for what. He said he remembered many a life before, yet what life had there been but the one now? Then someone came for him.

"You're always waiting for me Jean. And Jean I'll always come back."

"Marco..."

Notes:

Sticking to 100 words is hard. Hoping this says what it needs to. That no matter how many lives, Jean and Marco will always find each other.

Chapter 5: G1 Transformers

Chapter Text

Since Brawn had revealed his own feelings, the relationship between Sunstreaker and Huffer had become more strained. The arguments had gone from lovers spats to accusations. Sunstreaker implying Huffer was seeing "that ugly little creature" on the side. It all came to a head though when Sunstreaker feeling particularly angry slapped Huffer in the face. It was the last straw.

"Brawn is my friend. JUST my friend. I can't stand your jealousy anymore. We're through!"

With that, Huffer stormed off leaving Sunstreaker to regret his own temper.

"You are such an idiot, Sunny," Sideswipe transmitted on their own private channel.

Chapter 6: Red Vs Blue

Chapter Text

Some days got really lonely at Blood Gulch and on those days everyone sought out Donut. Even Sarge, who claimed he only loved the ladies. Donut always seemed happy to share a bed with whomever requested it, but Tucker wondered if he really was happy or doing it out of obligation. Donut had certainly seemed enthused last night with him, and was now curled up against Tucker’s back. A comforting warmth. Tucker didn’t know the truth of Donut’s feelings but he began to suspect that perhaps he, himself was not so keen to share the Lithe Blond with anyone else.

Chapter 7: G1 Transformers

Notes:

One of my New Years resolutions is to submit at least one chapter a month to any of my stories. So far just sliding one in before February hits.
I had to cut like 30 words out of this chapter. 100 word limit is hard. Almost tempted to double drabble a chapter but then it wouldn't be proper drabbles then.

Chapter Text

Sunstreaker was unapproachable. His behaviour since the break-up of him and Huffer had gotten to the stage everyone avoided him. He had never been so anti-social. The cold shoulders and dark aura surrounding him was cloying even to his brother; The only bot left in the Ark who dared spend time with the yellow twin.

So far though his attitude had not caused him to be removed from battle. Sure there was concern over his “enthusiasm” but nothing to warrant benching him. Yet. Sideswipe knew it was a matter of time though. His brother was like unstable energon. One spark…

Chapter 8: G1 Transformers

Notes:

Finally an update. I'm thinking of doing double drabbles in future as plot demands more words.

Chapter Text

It had been another typical anarchic attempt by the Decepticons to stir up a skirmish and of course everyone had dove in as usual. It wasn't particularly memorable until one of the Stunticons had made a remark to the Golden Twin about him being "So ugly. Not even a Dinobot would want him" And Sunstreaker, who was still boiling over his and Huffer's break-up had not taken it well. At all. But in the Golden Twin's rage he set chaos onto the battlefield and by the end a retreat was called due to the number of casualties on both sides.

Chapter 9: Red vs Blue

Notes:

Double drabble time
Set in no particular canon time-line but after the previous Red Vs Blue Drabble.
Rating may need an upgrade but I'll leave as is for now.

One more thing. I've decided in my canon head that Washington is Vietnamese. I read in another story where someone made him Asian and it just fits him for me. Plus I like the subtlety of making him Vietnamese in particular with the whole Vietnam war parallels.

Chapter Text

After spending Five months alone with Washington and Caboose for company due to some secret mission stuff, Tucker had started to tire of his own hands. By month two he had gotten desperate enough to proposition Washington but the Vietnamese man had merely blushed and muttered something about liking women. Tucker had almost asked Caboose in Month four, but seeing the idiot talking to his pet rock just made Tucker feel like he was about to rob the cradle; despite Caboose being about the same age as himself. And likely Washington would kill him if he did. The former Freelancer was turning into a right mother hen.

So it was an utter relief to him when Donut was due to make a video call to their base with updates on the whole secret mission business. It still meant hands for Tucker but Donut was very good with describing sensual little details and Tucker couldn't wait. It surprised him then, that when the call was made, that instead of innuendo and dirty talk, he and Donut ending up talking about everyday stuff along with the mission. Tucker didn't even think about his "needs" after that, instead raptly listening to every word.

Chapter 10: Attack on Titan

Summary:

Lots of inspiration to write recently.
Another double drabble. I couldn't do the scene justice in 100 words. And yes I think I'm going to develop a theme with these two; A sort of star-crossed lovers across Time and the Universe thing.

Chapter Text

After leaving college, Jean had found the odd job but never quite the career he had dreamed of. So whilst that elusive goal remained elusive he was helping out as part of an out reach program to offer companionship to the elderly. Today he had been assigned a new client. The man had had a relatively ordinary life. He had married young, started his own mechanics business, was the father of three grown children and eventually retired to an old folks home. Sadly he had recently lost his wife and his children were the sort that only visited on a perfunctory basis. So the old Man was keenly in need of someone to talk to.

Jean knocked on the door of the little room, in his arms he held a chess set. From what he knew, the old man was rather partial to a game or two. Footsteps shuffled to the door, followed by a click as the door was unlocked and slowly opened. A world weary face peered hesitantly at his guest, eyebrows creased around wrinkled brows. Jean opened his mouth to say hello but a spark of recognition caught his throat. And the world righted itself once more.

Chapter 11: Transformers G1

Notes:

I'm back. Sort of. Here's a new drabble.

Chapter Text

In the Medbay, Huffer was recovering from a nearly severed arm and feeling miserable and bored because of it.
That last battle had been chaotic and violent to say the least so he wasn't the only temporary guest of the facility. It was expected for lots of bodies to come and go and Huffer didn't pay much attention until something caught his attention. He looked up and locked optics with a worried looking Sunstreaker. For nanoseconds, Huffer stared and Sunstreaker almost opened his mouth but it was broken when Brawn barrelled his way to Huffer, blocking the Golden Twin out.

Chapter 12: Red Vs Blue

Summary:

Fluff

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Tucker could hear the bed squeaks all the way from his own room. It was a little irritating to start with but after nearly fifty minutes he'd had enough. Chucking his latest edition of LadyLove onto the floor he stormed to the room where the offending noise was coming from. He banged on the door a couple of times, but before waiting for a response he shoved the door opened and growled as he entered.

"Will you two knock it off already!" Tucker snarled.

One Agent David Washington turned to face the interloper with a withering gaze. A gaze that spoke or irritation and tiredness. Tucker swallowed hard when he realised his mistake in coming here. More so when Wash's pissed off face momentarily turned soft towards the third occupant of the room before hardening again as he narrowed his ire back at Tucker.

"Tucker." Wash said calmly. Too calmly. "You know for a fact that Caboose needs a bedtime story before he goes to sleep."

"It's about Pirates!" Caboose uncertainly but still jovially said, as he stood on top of his bed in his Pyjamas.

"Yes a pirate story." Wash confirmed. "Unless of course you've come here to help me tell it. It does need one of those rogue evil pirates that gets his comeuppance with a stabbing. Lots of stabbing."

Tucker took the warning loud and clear. It had been a while since he last interrupted Wash's Amazing imagination bedtime storybook time magic hour. (Caboose named it of course) And that time had resulted in three hours of hardcore training the day after. And he had only laughed at Wash making the voices. But this time he had shouted. At Wash AND Caboose. What had he been thinking?!

"...sorry..." Mama Wash was so going to kill him later.

Notes:

Only meant to be 100 words but ended up 300. Not quite happy with it but eh. It still has Tucker's bad timing, Bedtime Caboose and ratty mama Wash.

Chapter 13: Attack on Titan

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The Primordial Ooze. A populated sea of archaea and eubacteria. A watery wasteland of potential. Through as yet an uncharted level of time, RNA expanded to Chromosomal DNA. Prokaryote to Eukaryotes. Life on earth was born and grew and thrived.

It was a miracle. And in that endless miracle somehow, somewhere a mitosis occurred. Unique to all the others before and since. Bound by something far more then mere molecular science. It was as if whatever God had birthed the vast sea had chosen that particular Eukaryotes for greater things. It was not just a new life, it was destiny.

Notes:

I suck at science here not even including the fictional aspect.
(Destiny is Jean and Marco :) )

Chapter 14: The Hobbit

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

On the outside it seemed like a marriage of convenience. Uniting one race to another. Merging two kingdoms through arrangement. But those within knew better. It was the couple whom had set the wheels in motion much to the horror of both their immediate families when they revealed their love for one another. They were too young. Too inexperienced. Too different. Such a pairing could only end in heart ache. There was much squabbling. Much procrastinating. Yet in the end love won out.

The Wild Dandelion married the Humble Amethyst. Daughter of a King. Son of a Courtesan. Soul Mates.

Notes:

Pairing is a very thinly veiled surprise. I'll reveal them when I write another drabble for this pairing.

Chapter 15: Transformers G1

Chapter Text

Since Huffer's injury, Brawn had been stuck to him like glue. Sunstreaker's guilt of the injury demanded he speak to his Ex but every time he tried to muster up the courage to say something, anything, Brawn got in the way. The Golden twin swore it was deliberate. Like the heavy Minibot was just waiting to pounce on Huffer the moment Sunstreaker took a small step or even a look at his love.

Sunstreaker felt the Frustration and anger and deep jealousy of it. This was not right, if he didn't do something soon then he could lose Huffer forever.

Slight alteration

Chapter 16: Red vs Blue

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The Reds were back. Donut was back! Wash knew this because Tucker was babbling excitedly as he buffed up his helmet. Bow Chicka Bow Wow. Tucker told Wash it was because he heard the Reds had brought back a lady but Wash knew better. Tucker had become increasingly easy to read when it came to a certain Red. For Wash anyway. Caboose was a loveable lost cause when it came to matters of romance. ("Michael, let me just wipe off that milk from your lip." )

The reunion was not quite as expected. Caboose was happy as ever to see his friends, ignoring or not even noticing the way Sarge menaced him with his shotgun at the dirty Blue. Wash noticed though and was on alert. Sarge could be unpredictable at the best of times. Simmons and Grif seemed pretty much themselves. Although Grif appeared to have gained a bit more weight and Simmon's whines at him were a touch more affectionate then usual.

It was almost normal with the exception of Tucker and Donut. Tucker was frozen to the spot. Donut was not in his armour. Donut was NOT in his armour! That alone should have brought him to nosebleed heaven. But it wasn't the fact Donut wasn't wearing armour that planted his feet to the ground. It was what he was wearing instead. Tucker was dreaming wasn't he? Surely the blonde was not really wearing that? Donut was a guy. Tucker should know. Tucker had experience in that. And Donut still looked like a guy. A pretty one of course but still male.

Donut smiled at Tucker in a way that melted his insides but his brain was still computing. Why was Donut wearing a pink prom style dress? That made him look so pretty and cute and feminine.

Notes:

err the Wash/Caboose innuendo was unintended. I realised the moment I wrote it. The (" ") was meant to show Wash being motherly and showing Caboose being clueless.
I blame Tucker. And Donut.

Chapter 17: The Hobbit

Notes:

Prequel to the earlier Hobbit drabble

Chapter Text

The first time they met was not an entirely happy one. She had been crying. Freedoms before her father's ascension had been eroded and she had felt the frustrations of an over protective father and the walls that now seemed to trap her free spirit. He had been chased off by men. Men bitter from the war and of Smaug's decimation of their homes and he had been a convenient target for their anger. So one hurt in spirit, the other hurt in body and yet finding themselves in the same spot to run from their troubles. It was as if fate knew they had needed each other to lean on.

The moment of finding each other in weakness had left an awkward silence as their surprised faces met. She wiped the tears from her eyes and tried to compose herself like a lady whilst he wiped blood from a split lip and stood a little straighter. They both knew the other was pretending. Yet she smiled and he returned it with a tentative one of his own.

"Hello," she said. "I'm Sigrid."

"Oh umm, I'm Ori. Nice to meet you"

And the first seed of their future took root.

Chapter 18: Transformers G1

Chapter Text

How do you go about asking for forgiveness when you have a stubborn streak a megamile long? What words do you say to the one whose spark you hurt? How do you reconcile whilst the space you left is being filled by another? Sunstreaker had no answers for those questions. It broke something inside of him that left him to mope. He loved Huffer (loved!) how did Huffer see anything in him in the first place? Wait. It had begun with a slow dance of courtship. That was it! The music may have changed but they could still dance again.

Chapter 19: Red Vs Blue

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

"Do you like it?" Donut said. All pretty lips and sparkling eyes.

Tucker's own roved the dress up and down his mind still playing catch up. "It's Pink" He replied.

Donut lips mouth pulled down a little. "But is it pretty?"

There was a very slight hint of something in his question that pulled Tucker out of his cloud. Donut was all happiness and gaiety and anything less was just not him. Tucker felt a pang, a beat in his heart. He looked again this time, properly. He couldn't have his little pumpkin pie upset.

"It's the prettiest dress I've seen. Prettier still on you." And Tucker meant it as the shock died away and a new appreciation grew within him. Donut was cute for a guy and the dress somehow seemed to accentuate his adorableness.

"Aww That's so sweet." Donut's full smile came back as he walked closer, gently twisting the hem fabric. Tucker felt his face flush as the small blonde came to stand before him almost touching. Donut looked up and Tucker's blush deepened.

"I had it especially commissioned. I'm glad you like it. We should thank Simmons. He made it for me."

"Simmons made a dress?!"

Notes:

Tucker has picked up a few of Donut's mannerism. It must be love. :D
And what I dub THE DRESS SAGA has a part two.

Chapter 20: The Hobbit

Chapter Text

He was not a full blood relation to either Ori or Sigrid but Dwalin was certainly proving to be the biggest nuisance in their relationship. Sigrid even found the solid imposing dwarf a little scary. The way he looked at her made her on edge. It didn't help that he insisted on being a continuous presence in their lives as they tried to adjust to their still infant relationship. He hovered about Ori mostly, like a Hummingbird to nectar, but his eyes were more like a hawk's when it came to Sigrid.

At first she was confused by his insistent presence until Ori made things a little clearer. In the past it was often Dwalin knocking at the 'Ri door either looking for Nori or bringing him back from a stay in jail. He came so often that Ori, still little more then a babe became quite attached. Dwalin in turn became rather attached as well to the little Dwarfling who came running excitedly when he visited. Dori who tried to raise his little brother, was more mother in nature to his duty and love of his sibling and so Dwalin became the missing father figure in Ori's life.

As Ori grew, Dwalin became a protective figure and that extended to Sigrid's intentions. She didn't know what he thought of her but she suspected he was not fond. He wasn't the loudest voice against their marriage but he had been a part of those many conversations. But Sigrid, tougher then most gave her credit, for would not let Dwalin and his unspoken judgement sully her love for her husband. He may make her feel scared but it didn't mean she had to run away every time he came to visit. For Ori, who adored his surrogate father, she would endure.

Notes:

Sigrid will NOT be bullied.

Chapter Text

Donatello and Casey always considered each other rivals for April's affection. So blinded by one-upmanship they had blinked and missed it.

April had fallen in love. And it turned out neither boy was in the running. Or even had a chance.

When April made the announcement it had been made with a smile and a little hesitancy, and although both boys felt their hearts break at whose hand she held tightly they couldn't bring themselves to make a fuss. April's happiness was what mattered most to them.

Besides Miwa would break more then their hearts if they hurt her girlfriend.

Chapter 22: G1 Transformers

Chapter Text

It was a friendly gesture, the way Brawn had his hand on Huffer's healing shoulder. It was nice to know his friend had his back so Huffer let it linger. If there was a slight tender squeeze or a stroking digit he didn't notice. What Huffer did notice was the way Sunstreaker glared from his corner of the Rec room. His optics seemingly focused on that warm hand. His lip components turned down in a frown. Huffer wanted to be annoyed at it. Angry even but he couldn't. Instead he felt a longing in his spark that he tried to shove down. Maybe there might have been some hope but he felt like that had gone. Still he couldn't help thinking maybe. He remembered the way Sunstreaker went from taciturn warrior in public to sweet cuddler in private. The way his optics looked at him. How Sunstreaker would give gentle encouragement when Huffer felt particularly homesick. He missed it.

"Huffer did you hear me?"

Huffer realised his thoughts had lingered too far inwards as he startled to face Brawn's worried frown.

"Oh. No. Sorry. Must be some grubby Earth dirt in my audio's."

Brawn's face suggested he didn't quite believe it as his optics briefly strayed to the Golden Twin in the corner and his frown dipped darker for a moment. Then he turned back to Huffer all smiles again and patted the shoulder his hand was still on. Huffer wasn't fooled either. Brawn still had issues with the warrior.

"I miss Cybertron too. Maybe when we get back I can show you that bar in Cranix, if it's still there."

"I would like that. All of us. "

Brawn was his friend but Huffer was not going to bite at that veiled date request. He wasn't ready to move on.

Chapter 23: Red Vs Blue

Chapter Text

That time apart had changed things and brought Tucker to a terrible realisation. He was 100% in love with Franklin Delano Donut. It was both horrifying and exhilarating. Horrifying in that sex would never be the same again. Already in his dreams when making naked sultry women moan and beg for him, their faces merged and changed into Donut's. Exhilarating because he had never felt this way about anyone before. Like he was constantly on air and never wanted to land again.

Tucker had no regrets though. Donut was his everything. Yet a doubt remained, did Donut love him back?

Chapter 24: The Hobbit

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Sigrid felt her face blush like an over ripened tomato. Ori didn't seem much better as he stumbled over his words as he held the gifts from his brother Nori.

As he spoke, she realised how different their two races could be. Humans were very discreet in the ways of intimacy but it seemed there were very little secrets for Dwarfs. Unable to look away at the coloured ribbons in her husband's hands she listened as he explained that Dwarfs braided their hair for significant events. Braids for first weapons. Braids for crafts. Braids to represent family. Braids even for crimes. But the one that was of most significance were the braids for marriage and the braids for coming of age.

The ribbons Nori had gifted them as a wedding present were for those. It certainly explained the looks even the dwarfs who approved of their marriage gave them. The marriage was not true until they had consummated it. Sigrid had been in love and too busy rebuilding her home to even think about that. Her blush deepened even more as she thought of the act. Instinctively she grabbed Ori's hand with a fierce intensity that startled him into silence. She looked deep into his eyes seeing her fear reflected back. The braids he had described for coming of age were clearly missing amongst his red hair telling her he was as inexperienced as she was.

She smiled sweetly at his quietly seeking face. Sigrid looked into her husband's eyes and tried to convey her feelings. She felt the thrill and fear of what was to come and needed him to know she wanted it. As if of one mind and body he seemed to know what she was trying to say and pulled her close until their lips met.

Notes:

Upped the rating as a precaution. Not quite sure some of the chapters fit the G rating and this one has implications.
Also Nori to the rescue of our oblivious lovebirds.

Chapter 25: Transformers G1

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Courting as Sunstreaker had learned before was not his forte. It had been an awkward sort of flirting to gain attention. The way a human boy would tease a human girl he liked. He knew this time would not work the same. He had already won Huffer's attention once, he just needed to remind Huffer of the rest of him. That inside his warrior golden shine was a kindness not many saw or even believed of him. Huffer had been one of the lucky few. Sunstreaker wanted him to know it was still there.

So Sunstreaker painted. And painted. And painted some more. His shared room with Sideswipe became like a graveyard of paintings deemed unworthy of a reconciliation. Unworthy of Huffer. Sideswipe complained. Said he could sell them anonymously online but Sunstreaker refused to give them to anyone else. They may not be good enough for Huffer but they had been painted FOR Huffer and no-one else. In the end he agreed that Sideswipe could burn the failures. A pyre to a lost love.

Everything he painted didn't feel like Huffer. They were either flawed or missing something vital altogether. Frustration built and Sunstreaker was almost ready to violently give up on it and his relationship with Huffer when inspiration hit. A new urgency filled his brush strokes. A new energy permeated his core. Huffer loved Cybertron. Huffer had always talked about missing it. Crystal City had felt too pompous for Huffer when Sunstreaker painted it, but his memories of Huffer's long ramblings of missing Cybertron had been about the little places. The personal places. Like Huffer's hometown of Joste.

In the end it was a rather simple painting compared to the grander works he had already painted but in his very spark it felt right. It felt perfect.

Notes:

Fun fact: I created the name of Huffer's home town from Huffer's voice actor John Stephenson's name.

What is Love? Why do I love? It does not compute. It is incompatible yet why do I love him? My experiments to eradicate this "emotion" have failed. Emotions are for the weak and I must remain strong. For him. A curiosity. To be strong I must not feel emotion but I need emotion to have a reason to be strong.

I am a broken tool. Megatron I have failed you. This discrepancy will be rectified. I am Shockwave. I will be perfection for you my Lord. My love. A will tear this body apart and rebuild it for you.

Notes:

Sudden inspiration. Shockwave is seriously messed up in the cortex. I have more plans though.

Chapter Text

The day had taken a strange turn when some small bug eyed aliens appeared in the valley proclaiming Caboose as their God. Their buzzy voices chittering excitedly as they showered Caboose with gifts. Unfortunately their gifts consisted of whatever they could find and that included Sarge's Shotgun. The red leader had been apoplectic.

It had then been a case of trying to chase the creatures, mostly by Agent Washington swinging a feather duster, to get their stuff back and get rid of the winged menaces. That had been an amusing seven hours before the creatures started dropping out of the sky, dead. It turned out the little aliens had in fact been from a colony of super bugs that had cultivated from a discarded Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Caboose had left in some radioactive corner and forgotten about. And being insects they had a very short life span.

Unfortunately Sarge's Shotgun had been damaged beyond repair during it, so he had to put her out of her misery and buried "Bessie" in an unmarked grave. Sarge became depressed but Donut couldn't have his leader all limp and dripping liquid. So he took Sarge to bed and they cuddled. Lots.

Notes:

This was meant to be like a sentence to lead into something else but I couldn't resist adding details to it so it became it's own double drabble.

Chapter 28: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Chapter Text

Casey and Donatello learned a valuable lesson that day. It was certainly one they would never forget and one they swore they would never tell anyone else, especially April and Karai.

Scissors were supposed to be for cutting or so they thought. Oil could be used in cooking or lubing up machines and nuts or so they thought. The idea of a different type of scissor and a different use for oil...

After making such a horrifying discovery they chose to make a pact. NEVER ease drop a private conversation with girls ever again. The embarrassment would be too much.

Chapter Text

Brawn had had feelings for Huffer for as long as he could recall. He had never acted on those feelings not wanting to ruin their friendship. It almost broke him when Huffer fell for Sunstreaker and then elation when Huffer dumped the warrior. But guilt soon followed as it was clear how much Huffer missed the Golden mech. He saw it in the optics of his friend. The spark ache of lost love. Sunstreaker didn't deserve that adoration. Brawn had never and would never hit Huffer but Sparks worked in mysterious ways. You couldn't help loving the ones you do, even if they hurt you. Huffer loved and hurt at the loss of betrayal and Brawn loved Huffer and hurt at the knowledge that it would never be reciprocated the way he wanted it to.

Yet a part of Brawn was willing to be second choice. To be a part of Huffer's spark or at least fill the void of pain that Sunstreaker had left behind. Huffer needed him more then ever. And that meant keeping his rival out of the way. To stop him causing more carnage and misery for his fellow minibot. Brawn had been seen the looks. The sidling creeping and he couldn't allow that. Huffer would let Sunstreaker speak his mind because despite Huffer's occasional whining and constant worrying he wasn't a bad mech. Brawn worried that the warrior would eventually wheedle his way back into Huffer's life, like an Earth leech and the rollercoaster would begin again. Huffer didn't deserve that. It was not really about jealously any more but protecting his dearest friend. So when he went to fetch Huffer his tool set from his room and saw the painting that could only come from one mech. He knew what to do with it.

Notes:

I realised I'm making Brawn a bit of a bad guy here and I don't mean to. He's just very protective of Huffer and Sunstreaker did hit Huffer and broke his spark which for Brawn is a massive no-no.
Hoping this little snip clears up a little of his thinking and that the next one I write shows him in a better light.

Chapter 30: Transformers G1

Notes:

Set prior to Sunstreaker and Huffer's break-up.
Its started with a kiss...

Chapter Text

"What's that?" Huffer asked.

Sunstreaker shrugged

"The humans call it mistletoe."

"Ha! Humans and naming things. Next they'll say Missiles have fingers."

Sunstreaker barely managed to hold back a smile. Huffer had a terrible sense of humour. The worst in fact. Yet Sunstreaker found it incredibly endearing.

"There is a an Earth culture associated with it." He replied teasingly.

"To drink?" He guessed as Sunstreaker closed the gap between them.

" More like this..." Sunstreaker raised the twig and leaned down staring into Huffer's surprised optics at the sudden lack of space.

"I... Oh "

Maybe Earth had it's perks after all.

Chapter 31: Voltron: Legendary Defender

Chapter Text

Shiro had a terrible habit of picking up strays. As an Alpha it was an altruistic move to bolster a pack but for Shiro his choices were far more emotionally based. After all no Alpha in his right mind would fill his pack entirely with Omegas. Omegas generally submitted and could carry the Alphas genes, but it didn't necessarily mean they were easy to deal with. They could be

stubborn,

"Pidge, what are you still doing up? I told you to go to bed hours ago!"

demanding,

"Yes Hunk. For the tenth time I won't forget to pick up the baking powder."

needy,

"Keith, I like hugs, but I really do need to get up at some point today."

and sensitive.

"It's Ok Lance, don't cry. It's just a film. Bambi's mother didn't really die. "

Not to mention the unwanted attention a large number of Omega's would cause, requiring the Alpha to spend most of their time between satisfying the pack's needs and defending them. It was just highly impractical. No sane Alpha would court a pack full of Omegas. Luckily for his pack, Shiro was not one of those sensible Alphas. His heart was too big to say no.

Chapter Text

It took a while but Donut finally realised something. The last time he had slept with anyone but Tucker had been with Sarge during the fairy incident, and that only involved cuddling. Before that it had been Simmons. A thank you present for making the dress. But since then it was only Tucker's bed he frequented. He thought he would be upset that he was no longer needed that way by the others but Donut only felt the warmth of happiness.

Simmons and Grif had found something between them. Something deeper, not consummated yet (Donut's magic powers told him). Sarge meanwhile on trying to find a replacement for his shotgun, (Bessie R.I.P) had gotten in contact with an arms dealer who just happened to a very pretty woman called Beth. It was love at first "I have a Mossberg 500 in my personal collection." He assumed the Blues were fine. Otherwise Tucker would have mentioned it.

Tucker. Tucker had wormed his way into Donut's closed off heart in a way no man or woman ever had. He felt happy for the others finding their own way but Tucker... He didn't want to let Tucker go. He loved him.

Notes:

Curse my self imposed word limitations. Didn't feel like it needed an extra 100 words. I want to expand a little on Donut's history (this chapter gave me ideas) and that deserves a second chapter. Also Tucker and Donut need to talk.

On a separate note I've been trying to keep chapters here relatively tame but I'm tempted to created a second Rare Love story only for more mature subjects like actual sex scenes and explicit violence. Let's call it; Rare Love: Mature edition. Hmm...

"Noooo!"

Eric watched as Diana crumpled in the snow. The white splashed with red. He Struggled through the flurry. Broken arm tight to his chest as he struggled to her side. He collapsed next to her, gritting his teeth not only against his injury but at the blood pooling around her knees.

"Don't be dead. Please don't be dead."

She slowly lifted her head and he felt a palpable sense of relief as he saw her eyes, pained but alert.

"If I'm dead. Then this is heaven if you're here."

"I thought I lost you!" He wept.

"Never." She whispered.

Notes:

Yep it's another new fandom to Rare Love. Not enough D&D cartoon stories floating around anymore.
I don't think I like this. Far too sappy. I'll correct that next D&D drabble

Brawn knew he had done the right thing when he saw Huffer the next day. The mood hanging over Huffer seemed lifted. There was a lightness in his step and a smile cracking through his snarky exterior. It still hurt Brawn though. He could tell Huffer knew that painting was from Sunstreaker. Knew that Huffer still felt for the warrior more then Huffer would ever feel for him. But the hurt would be worth it just to see Huffer happy. Brawn was right not to destroy the painting even though it killed him inside. Sacrifice was a part of friendship.

Notes:

New goal: Write one chapter a day. Any story published or or non published story but a chapter. Drabbling counts :)

Chapter 35: The Hobbit

Chapter Text

Her poor husband. Sigrid's father had seen the new ribbons in her hair and told her how pretty they were. And so she felt obligated to tell him their purpose in order to avoid potential later embarrassment. She had expected horror, maybe anger at her explanation, what she didn't expect was for her father to kiss her on the forehead and say nothing at all on the matter.

That was until after a few days later when he managed to embarrass both daughter and her husband with those fateful words...

"So how long before I can be expecting some grandchildren?"

There was a certain thrill to meeting up like this. Two mechs from opposing factions sneaking out from beneath their respective superiors for an illicit affair. It made his spark heat up just thinking about it. Not even his two brothers knew that Thundercracker ran so hot over breaking rules. Speaking of hot, Thundercracker heard the purr of a sleek engine driving his way. He sent out a quick ping from his location then extracted himself from his hiding spot only to nearly fall back as a mass of red sports car transformed into his arms.

"Miss me?" Sideswipe grinned.

Notes:

Keeping up with my daily task. This is a pairing I have planned for something else and when I say planned I mean I have an idea but not got around to writing it yet if ever. May or may not reside in the same timeline as Sunstreaker/Huffer.

Chapter Text

No matter how hard Tucker tried there was never a good moment to tell Donut he loved him. Either that or he caught an illness that prevented him from using the dreaded F word. Feelings. Tucker was mostly sure on the latter. There was no way he was just too afraid to say the words. Not him. No way.

Donut certainly left a lot of openings for his confession too. But that in itself made Tucker's nervous of speaking them. Donut was acting a little unusual of late. His unintentional double entendres seemed less unintentional when aimed at Tucker. And his smiles, always brightening any room now had a slight almost possessive edge for Tucker. And then there was the touches. More open. More lingering. More focused on Tucker. It was sexy as hell and made his nerves tingle so badly Tucker wanted to shout out I love you to the younger man.

He wished he had. Oh he wished he had as Felix told him how Donut, Sarge and Washington had to be left behind after the attack by the Federal Army of Chorus. He couldn't even bear to say Franklyn's name. The man he had loved was... gone.

Technically Keith had been the first member of Shiro's pack. They had met years before when Shiro was graduating from the Galaxy Garrison and a nervous Keith was just enrolling. They had made an instant connection for the short time they both spent at the school together. It felt natural. More so when Shiro thought back, as he recalled recognising the nervous ticks Keith tried to hide under his feisty exterior that others failed to notice. Or how Keith allowed Shiro to be close when no one else could. Meeting Keith again, and it was as if nothing had changed.

Donatello's mind pulsed as he assessed all the information he had gathered. He permeated every computation. He considered every physical variable and his conclusion was irrefutable.

"Huh" he said.

Shadow slitted her eyes at him even as she rubbed subconsciously at her lips.

"It was that bad?" She asked almost nonchalantly and Donatello blushed profusely in response.

How could he make a comparison when it was his first kiss? When it was through curiosity. Between best friends no less.

"No. Noooo. No. It wasn't bad. It was..." Nope. His words had failed him for once. Kissing was far too complicated.

Notes:

Failed my daily goal. Changed it to a weekly goal. Much more feasible. Also this is born from a concept story not written. Also 2. Love is more then romance. It's friendship and family too.

"I have already built the piezoelectric earphone using the required materials. The Impedance is a little low on the Ohm scale but it should be enough to get a decent signal. The diode was really rather a simple matter. Diodes were originally known as rectifiers due to usage of converting AC to DC. Fascinating history really. An English physicist, William Henry Eccles in 1919 re-coined the term using the Greek root 'di'..."

The cold shoulder Huffer had been giving Sunstreaker since their breakup seemed to have thawed a little. Or at least Sunstreaker thought so. He hoped that it was because of the picture he painted but worried that perhaps the lack of avoidance was Huffer's mere acceptance that their relationship was over, rather then because of his gift. Sideswipe told him to not be so paranoid over their twin bond.

"Stop moping like Gears and ask him!"

Sideswipe was right of course. He was Sunstreaker, Warrior! He had won Huffer once by being bold and asking. He could do it again.

Speeding things a long a little. This wants to go it's own path. Let's follow the Matrix.

Chapter 42: Voltron: Legendary Defender

Chapter Text

Not long after Shiro had met Keith then he had come across the curious pair of Lance and Hunk. Boys with differing but complimentary personalities. Their unusual friendship was not the only thing that caught Shiro's eye. It was obvious both of them were Omega. Recently presenting and unable to hide it in their early practices of their new found identities. Lance with a needy nature and Hunk with his caring one. It was rather sweet, actually.

Shiro sharper then most noticed more then just that. The two boys hung around together like old friends. And whilst they seemed carefree, Shiro noticed them watching each others back. A flick of an eye from one sent a potential suitor for the other scurrying away. It was not unheard of for an Alpha to take advantage of a new Omega ( behaviour Shiro found disgusting) and the boys seemed to sense that. It was not just a friendship but a partnership.

It made Shiro feel the warmth he felt for Keith. He never approached the two. Merely watching discreetly from afar and yet feeling an urge to bundle the pair into an embracing hug. But he never got the chance to on Earth.

"Tucker!"

That voice. Tucker stared at the man in pink armour. Stared and tried to get his thoughts together as the man in pink launched himself at Tucker. Instinctively Tucker braced and caught the laughing man as he dived into his arms. Confused. Amazed. Shocked. Tucker went the full gamut of emotions as he felt the warmth of a body against his. Donut? Alive? Alive and healthy and full of bright happiness that clung so keenly to him. Tucker let reality in before squeezing tight around that warmth. Pressing tighter and tighter as his mind caught up. Donut was alive!

It was the feeling of a digit stroking along his hood that startled Huffer. The other minibots were prone to just slumping an arm over shoulder struts but this... this was something far too subtle for a minibot. An engineer by trade Huffer was no warrior but time spent with the Autobots had taught him a few lessons. He ducked low and away as he twisted his pedes to face the personal space invader. His fist swang hard out to catch a chin only to be caught by a larger one. Sunstreaker locked optics with him.

"We need to talk."

It somehow seemed a natural progression, when Luffy loudly claimed that Zoro was his boyfriend at dinner. No one batted an eyelid unless you discounted the gleam in Franky's eyes or the genuine smile on Robin or Usopp passing a handful of beri to Nami or the way Sanji grunted about Slow Swordsmen and taking their time. And if there was a little party afterwards with dancing and kissing and music from Brook about new young love to celebrate, it was just Pirates enjoying a good knees up after a hard adventure. So really there was no reaction at all.

Notes:

I had an idea about relationships in the SH crew that was going to be a full story. But instead it felt like it would work in drabble form. Things will get complicated.

It had been a whirlwind reunion that had Tucker eventually coveted by a drooling Donut lackadaisically draped over his tired but happy self. Together. In bed. Where Tucker was more then happy to stay for a while longer. There was no one else to see his tired adoring smile as Donut snuffled into his bare chest. No one to see the gentle kiss he placed on the other man's forehead. No one but Donut to hear the two words Tucker finally dared to utter...

"I love you, Franklyn"

"I love you too, Lavernius Tucker." Donut whispered with a sleepy smile.

Chapter Text

Traitor. Betrayer. Decepticon. These were all things and more Cliffjumper accused Mirage of. Practically spat the accusations in his optics. Yet Cliffjumper knew they were a lie. It was him. He was the traitor. The despicable mech who had betrayed a friendship. A love. Everything he accused of Mirage he did because he felt them of himself. Desperately wanting Mirage to twist them back. To see the real Cliffjumper. To hate him for something Cliffjumper was too ashamed to admit. That he had cheated on Mirage. Traitor to their burgeoning relationship for a quick frag.

Cliffjumper was a passionate mech. Overly so. Willing to dive in foolhardy as his name implied and when he had felt more then friendship for Mirage he had dived in head first. Mirage a far more reticent mech hadn't seen the signs at first despite Cliffjumper's attempts. Lack of reciprocation led to frustration. Cliffjumper tried hard too hard and in the end had all but given up. Then Jazz had propositioned him. Flirted in a way Mirage hadn't and feeling rejected, dejected and hopeless Cliffjumper in his way as usual, rushed in and readily agreed a night in the berth. Even if to just dull the pain of what he felt was Mirage's refusal to see him more then a friend.

Then out of the blue, Mirage kissed him. Cliffjumper had been surprised at the contact. Then angry. Infuriated. He shoved Mirage hard. Fire blazing in his optics. Mirage was unbalanced and looked hurt only making the pit in Cliffjumper burn harder. How could Cliffjumper have ever doubted Mirage? How could he betray him?!

"Traitor!" He screamed at Mirage, but really meaning himself. He didn't deserve Mirage. He raged more words of accusations before storming off. Mirage had tried afterwards to make amends for something he thought he had done wrong and the more Cliffjumper saw the pain he had caused in his friend the harsher his words of treachery became. Then things had happened and Mirage had nearly died and all his self loathing evaporated. Guilt tore Cliffjumper apart. His fiery personality. His pride had nearly cost Mirage his life. He had deeply hurt the mech he loved, whose gentle nature allowed him to even forgive Cliffjumper despite not know the whole truth. Cliffjumper knew Mirage deserved better. Admitting what scum Cliffjumper truly was, was a start to it. He didn't deserve that forgiveness.

Notes:

Sorry but Jazz had to be a little bit of a jerk because there is no way he wouldn't have known how Mirage and Cliffjumper felt about each other.

And I wanted to give a bit of insight into Cliffjumper's personality and rectify some perceptions about him (especially from that traitor episode.) Cliffjumper for me is foolhardy, passionate and doesn't always think before he acts. But I don't think that makes him the defacto jerk as some written fanfiction depicts him as. He wouldn't care so much about the Autobot cause if he was just a jerk.

Thanks to Matt fondly talking about his smart baby sister all the time, Shiro found he could easily recognise Katie under her disguise when they first met. She was as adorably stubborn as Matt had described and Shiro felt instantly protective of her. At first it was more a paternal feeling (Shiro was never short for warmth of those younger then him.) But that gradually changed and grew into something a bit more when Pidge started into maturity and presented. Shiro knew she was no longer just his surrogate little sister but was now truly a member of his family.

The Strawhats never had to worry about walking in on something private. Luffy was exuberant in his affections and touches but when it came to intimacy he showed his usual disinterest and cluelessness. It was just something he had no interest in. There were people like that in the world and that was just fine. Luffy was Luffy and that was that. Zoro on the other hand wasn't immune to those sort of desires but his love for Luffy was enduring. He didn't need to be intimate to stay with his Captain. He would abstain for eternity if need be.

Startled by his name Yuuki turned to find himself facing the tall good looking friend of Akira's. The very handsome friend. He smiled hesitantly.

"I have been unable to extract you from my thoughts of late. A coincidence we meet again so soon."

Yuuki blushed. "You've... but why? We barely know each other."

Yusuke coughed politely. "It's your body that interests me."

Yuuki gulped his whole face blossoming red.

"My err, My body?!"

"Those facial expressions. Those lines. I want you to model for me"

Take me now!

"...OK..."

"Hi guys. Guess what? WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!"

April screamed excitedly as she and Karai entered the lair.

"OMG Karai finally proposed?!" Mikey screamed back as he sprinted over the couch to hug both women tightly.

"'bout time" Raph responded with a smirk on his face.

Leo joined the little group and gave a quick squeeze to both women.

" Guess this means April will officially become our sister then?" His own joy seeping out with his words.

"Your sister. MY wife." Karai retorted cheekily.

"Congratulations!" Don added. His smile the widest but his eyes clouded in a mist of hidden tears.

Chapter 52: One Piece

Chapter Text

"I love you, Zoro"

Zoro kept those words in his head as he watched the islanders partake in their love festival. Wreaths of flowers and kisses were shared freely, like the wreath of blue roses Luffy had festooned about his own neck, as his lips uttered those words. It left a warm feeling inside of him and by the looks of things the rest of the crew were just as enthused about the festival. Zoro refrained from a smile as Nami threw Chopper about in an inelegant dance, both laughing. Only someone was missing.

"Need company?" A quieter Usopp asked.
