Summary
Credence Barebone is the Crown Prince of the kingdom Onaria but not yet old enough to assume the throne. Being unable to stop her stepson from becoming King, Queen Mary Lou decides to use the last ace she has up her sleeve. She forces him to marry. So far the search for a bride has turned out to be a bore, that is until the arrival of Princess Amethyst Piquery and her entourage, which includes a certain knight.
Credence believes he may grow fond of the Princess, in time. What Credence doesn't know is that Amethyst has her own secrets and that Sir Percival, her "escort", is always ready to defend her. Well, he may know these things, but he doesn't know is why. Although, just maybe, he'll find out.

“Credence, you… you can’t mean that…” He choked on his own words, his voice thick from holding back tears. Credence stared at the floor, focusing on not looking Percival in the eye, knowing that if he did he would burst out crying and tell him ‘no, I don’t mean it. I want to stay, I want you to hold me again, kiss me again, tell me that all this is just a bad dream’. He bit the inside of his cheek, the tears on the verge of spilling.
“Yes, I do, Percival. You don’t love me anymore, and I can’t do this anymore. I’m leaving.”Jonathan (OMC) convinces Credence to leave Percival and Credence does. However the pain does not go away, it only gets worse as he moves in with Jonathan who is not the knight in shining armour Credence believed him to be. But Credence can't leave him, he wouldn't have anywhere to go. Surely Percival would never take him back...

Summary
It's dark in the space. The only light comes from a large spotlight, illuminating Credence lying on the floor, writhing in pain. Percival can't move, but he needs to. He has to protect Credence. So he fights but he's too late.
He wakes up in cold sweat. Credence is looking at him with both worry and relief in his dark brown eyes.
"Kiss me" he whisperes.
"Why?"
"I just want to know that you're real"
